Nice video, thank you for sharing. I just bought a 2018 150 Piaggio Medley for Auckland traffic in New Zealand. Just gone for 2 rides and so far, and it's a goodie. Little more grunty than my Suzuki UK110 Address that did me for 10,000 km. That was regularly serviced and garaged and a young guy bought it off me for 2k $NZ. He's happy. I was thinking of a Kymco 160cc, very similar specs, to the Piaggio, $NZ5K with 3-year warranty, top box included, but the Piaggio + topbox had done 4000 km and I got it for about 1/2 price of the Kymco. I used to have bigger bikes but like you I am getting older and a bit more relaxed. Love the scooter commuter. Thank YOU!
Driving a medley 125 is more for practical reasons. I really like this scooter for that. I drive it myself. When I was in the driving school the people mostly said that they want to do the motorbike licence for speeding with their bikes. I got laughed when saying I want to drive a faster scooter. its cheap and practical. :D
Thanks so much for posting this. I’ve been looking at all the same scooters as you were and the same online reviews. Never really considered a ‘utility’ scooter before seeing the bikematters reviews, (they also rated it the number 1 commuter 125), and seeing your honest appraisal has sealed the deal for me, so thank you. Look forward to checking out your other content, love the relaxed, jovial style too!
I can't get me leg over a normal bike and, after a couple of other scooters, I'm loving my Honda SH350i. I wanted a bit more power to keep up with my mates on their sports bikes. A couple of months back, I led a day out of around 200 miles in the Lake District. A BMW S1000R rider was "struggling to keep up" and needed half an hour to recover. I was fresh as a daisy with my large windscreen and "Airhawk" type air cushion.
Thank you, i really enjoyed the review. I currently have an sh 125. I'm looking at a Yamaha nmax, Honda pcx, Suzuki burgman ex. The Piaggio has the most under seat storage. Although unlike the pcx and nmax, it's not keyless.
The MIA is standard on the Medley S version (at only £100 extra over yours with red accents) and can also be purchased separately as an accessory for £123, excluding fitting.
Very good looking bike. The more I think about it, the more I think an Smax would be overkill, A 50cc may be too small for long trips in the country so a mid size scooter seems ideal, easy to park.
thanks! I wish the bike looked more beefy, but it's very well designed when it comes to practicality. This video helped me make the buying decision (: I hope it won't disappoint 😅
It is a very practical bike and I really love the way it handles. The engine is very flexible and pulls well, don’t think you’ll be disappointed 👍 Ride safe.
Nice ride mate. Certainly well equipped 👍 I wish I could fill my bike for £8 and get 210 miles🤔😁 Be careful, if you keep on eating them burgers and ice creams it may not pull you😁👍
Nice video, I'm hoping to get one of these next week, was looking at the honda sh but this looks more suitable for me, I've got a triumph T100 my summer bike but want a bike to ride for work. You live near me I'm in Kent too. The older you get you still love bikes but no longer want the speed 😊
@@BikeMates picked it up today from Tenterden, For today's roads it's perfect. I'm only using it for work, if I see you out on my triumph I'll give you a nod 😄
@@Teo_greek depends what you want from a scooter, the Medley has ABS all round and traction control also a better engine. Yes it is more expensive but in my opinion it’s a better scooter. Ride safe 👍

I wish that we could get the 150 in the uk but piaggio won’t sell it to us.
Enjoy the scooter and ride safe

I think it's a good looking scoot and they are quick off the line in the city traffic!
Yes I agree it’s a good looking scoot and does everything I want so very pleased 😃

Keyless wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me but we all have different needs 😊

My 2021 Medley does about 130 miles on a tank (7 litres).

It's been perfect for using for town work during rush hours. Great on petrol, starts with no issues.

Thanks mate, yes I’m mending nicely now 👍
You stay safe as well.
dont worry buddy, I think your 125 goes as fast as my 150. How do you crank it up to 70mph! I sit at a cosy 60-65 on the motorway, plenty fast for me!
@@skog44 70mph isn’t always available on the Medley 125 it depends on the wind conditions and how the scooter feels on the day 😂

@@BikeMates thank you for replying and telling me these tips!
So you having a problem getting your leg over a motorbike
I can only manage a scooter these days Ah...just watched your video, same story as me then
Yes a combination of injuries from my accident in 2019 and old age I’m afraid, but the little scooter does the job very well 👌
How's the suspension?
Suspension is good all round really but the rear can be a little harsh over pot holes.
MADE IN VIETNAM ?
I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE ACCENT
