She has been credited for helping to redefine contemporary R&B, pop and hip hop, earning her the nicknames the "Princess of R&B" and "Queen of Urban Pop On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah died at the age of 22 in an airplane accident in the Bahamas, when the overloaded aircraft she was traveling in crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all nine on board.

It was the 90s early 2000s style everybody dressed differently which is something you don't see now a days
Not just her clothes sweetheart but her overall presence. Noooobody in the game had as much swag as Aaliyah and to still be soft spoken and down to earth and cool as she was was unheard of back then and still is now til this day and to be beautiful and carry yourself with so much grace. Aaliyah was in her own lane and competed against noone. On the other hand majority of the women in the industry were drama filled Divas and its even worse today. You dont see too many celebrities that have no beef or some sort of feud going on but I can honestly say Aaliyah stayed clear of all negatively. The only thing she was attached to was that nonsense with R. Kelly but she wass only 15 and she eventually rose above that situation and remained flawless ever since. 😊@edgar_leon1790

She was actually on the verge of doing that because the label she was on was an independent label and she was becoming waaaay to big of a star. I know right before she passed she had the number 1 song,number 1 movie,number 1 soundtrack and she had just released her last album which was headed towards becoming number 1 and she also had movie deals lined up as well so it was definitely time for her to switch labels so whoever behind the plane crash had to be someone in her inner circle that knew she was about to dominate the industry. 😢

Just so natural and so pretty. Girls her age today are full of filler and dramatic make up, and fake teeth...it's a shame. Aaliyah is timeless and represents a different time which was so close yet seems so long ago with how rapid things have changed. I hope she is in heavenly peace.
