got my 22 GT 500 PPF with Expel like 2-3 weeks ago. But mine has many issues, theres lots of white looking stuff on alot of the edges of the hood, and fenders, and bubles that they said would go away over time, but has not, also i see lots of little bumps like rubbish under the PPF. Also lots of edges the PPF did not stick, it sticking out. very un happy. i will drop it off to them, they said they can fix it? I not sure if they can make it better without redoing the whole job again! you think that kind of issues can be ironed out without redoing the job all over? I also see lines in the film, like when it bends or sticks and they take it off and reapply....terrible job.
What is this? A wrap for paint protection? Does the car always look clean and Shiney with this? I just had my mustang painted it’s a laser red tri coat candy paint code and I was gonna ceramic coat my car but this looks way better
The paint protection film serves a different purpose than a ceramic coating. The PPF is designed to protect the vehicles paint from rock chips, road debris, bug etched, etc. While ceramic coatings are more for long term durability and ease of maintenance, hydrophobics. We often do both on most of the cars we work on, with the front end being protected with the ppf and the entire car polished and ceramic coated.
Hey Billy, I just installed HALO on my PPF for my personal vehicle. I’ve used this product before and have had no issues. I noticed some streaking on the hood when the sun had set. I could not see the streaks with my scangrip lights using the diffuser caps or with just general bright lighting. The coating only had about 3 hours of cure time. I’ve tried applying more halo directly in small sections to reactivate the solvent but it hasn’t helped. I also tried polishing with a yellow rupes and a mild polish(menzerna SF3500). I tried a compound with a yellow rupes as well. Both faster arm movement and low speed since I didn’t want to risk burning the film. Hoping you can help me somehow with this. The rest of the car currently has CSL applied and I had no high spots anywhere else as I’ve been applying coatings for a few years. It was applied in a garage with the outside temperature being 22C with a humidity of 54%. As per instructions I did half a hood at a time and wiped it off immediately with the three towel method. It is extremely hard to tell in most lighting situations so I’m contemplating to leave it but since it’s been less than a day of cure time I’m hoping i can fix it somehow.
Presidential Automotive Detailing its XPEL ultimate plus that was installed a month ago. Any way I can email you? It is so bizarre to me as the actual light reflecting off the surface is completely clear. There is no haze or blurry ness you’d typically see.
Yes, in most cases paint correction is done prior to the PPF being installed. Paint correction processes vary based on each car and its paint type (soft or hard clear, color, etc). The ceramic is applied over the top of the PPF. Thanks for watching!
I think this is the best looking color on GT500

Which brand PPF film did you apply on? A quick polish almost always fixes any issues for us. Maybe your being a little too gentle with it?

Do you do the paint correction prior to putting on the PPF? If so what does it consist of? Lastly would you put on a ceramic coat over the PPF?
