After hearing that the High St Crossing’s quiet zone was revoked, I went for the majority of the rush hour in West Medford, MA. Also note the MBTX 1032 in the video, fresh back from rebuild.
Enjoy

MBTA 1514 With Power Doors!
I got a little toot toot here the other day but nothing like this! Why was the quiet zone revoked, what was going on? Seems weird they'd need to beep here considering there is always a live crossing tender there. Regarding the train in emergency, I'd guess that the crossing gates on that side street were malfunctioning again, like they always are. They probably went up as the train was approaching. Juts a guess though.
4:12 that is the definition of a mouse horn 😂
Cool video! Is this still going on today? Or was this like a one time thing.
They should revoke Waltham’s quiet zone
4:36 those lights fit the F40PH pretty well.
Til one of them burns out that is lol
Why did 218 go into emergency
1127 sounds so good now
All Quiet Zones in existence should be revoked permanently.
Also, at 5:28, 1623 is facing the wrong direction!
What happened to the train that went into emergency?
What was that horn at 4:10
a fouled K3L
I pray this will be permanent but I doubt that
Lmao no, the city questioned Keolis about it and at 1900 the quiet zone was back in place.
This is my train station! I went there for the bs game
y was it revoked
Insufficient barriers
I think they were blowing the horn at you and not the crossing because it is a quiet zone
That's a quiet zone
Texas is going to sink
What a bunch of outdated trains! Looks a bit like a third world system with those smelly noisy diesel engines! Why no electric engines!
Just because a train runs on diesel does not make it outdated, in fact diesel-powered trains were invented over 30 years after catenary-electric trains were, so if anything they are more modern. Also, the electrification required to run those electric trains is insanely expensive (official estimates say that it would cost almost $30 Billion) all while the MBTA themselves are billions of dollars in debt and already have to prioritize overhauling their crumbling subway system, which by itself will cost them a large amount of money and will make their fiscal situation even worse than it already is. With all this, it is clear that electrification is neither a worthy, wise, or even viable investment for the MBTA to pursue.
@@airgamer1403 Also very bad for the environment,as they sit and idol all night! The T commuter rail system is a total joke! Like I said turd- world rail system!
What a bunch of assholeish judgements! Looks a bit like a classist with those judgemental smartass words. Why no respect?
