I come across the combo version quite often. But yeah, the head doesn't seem to have flooded the market. I imagine it's just not different enough to set itself apart from other Engl amps in a marketable way. But ultimately, that's a good thing, as it is indeed a killer amp.
I have the same head, pretty cool except the single gain knob. I had to practice and gig on bass with it when my basshead was out of order, f%$£+*****ing AWESOME with the poweramp tubes overdrived
Sounds cool man, I would like to buy this amp but I am not sure if it is right for me, do you think that this will handle downtuned chuggy modern metal riffs (such as gojira, fit for an autopsy or Humanitys Last Breath)? I will use some kind of boost for sure, tubescreamer or a fortin 33 copy.
Pretty much all Engl amps are very tight, this one is no exception. I have recorded 7-strings with it and they sit beautifully. It doesn't handle clean boost too well (sounds overcompressed and harsh) and doesn't bring enough gain to the table for high gain metal on it's own, but dirty boosters work fine.
I really like the way you played a loop and went through the controls
I bought one about 3 years ago, I love it, I just recently bought another, it took 2 years to find one! I run them in stereo killer blues rock rig

@@GreyManFaustus oh, so by dirty boost you mean using a distortion pedal as a boost?
@@flame4928 Overdrive or basically anything mid range / treble-flavoured. Just no full range boost.
@@GreyManFaustus oh so basic tube-screamer with tone knob turned way up, should do the trick right?
@@flame4928 A TS is not a linear boost, so tone knob position is up to taste. It will definitely do the trick.
denglish 10/10.. great amp btw
Na komm, das geht schlimmer
Inotice u had a peavey Windsor with no intention to offend but my god that head sucks 😮
You should definitely watch the video about this head, where I ramble about how I love it.
@@GreyManFaustus its just isnt good man at all.
