Glad to have more video of these trucks, there history now sadly. I wished this awesome fleet kept going for a few more months haha this just gives you a look at what gold ran prior to 10 years ago wish I was there to this only got the old recycling truck. I absolutely enjoyed the sounds coming out of the engine nothing beats an old Acco on a raptor 2 body that a combo that is fading away, the trucks look very beaten up kind of makes me curious at what will the current fleet look like once the contract is up in like another 10 years. Overall great video deffs a like and a fave.

History now indeed, but documented them well for future! Got another one of these to come in future doing the garbage, and it sounded just as good... all of these sound pretty awesome anyway :D Looks real rough alright, not the greatest fleet presentation, a lot of them were much the same too... and yes, the current fleet at the end, that'll be interesting to see. Would've been mad to get more video of these doing the original 240L garbage service, there was something extra cool about these trucks doing that job.

Two 07's in two weeks, I must be seeing things! This truck had heaps of character to it, flogged out Acco still going hard. Enjoyed the sounds coming from that arm, sounded like lots of components were loose on it? Was entertaining but. Seen this fleet come on and off pickles for about 3 times in a row now, no one seems interested in them, best to send them down to SIMS.

When I decided to upload this beside the mountains truck, I thought of one guy who'd think he's tripping seeing two 07s so close... that guy of course was you hahaha This was epic in person, open new estate and that exhaust travelling throughout it, too bad the camera doesn't capture the true sound. I bet there were a lot of loose components on this truck lol But yeh that lifter had a proper wobbling loose rattle about it, well overdue for a refurb, but very quick on the up and down! Any company to use these as second hand side loaders would be digging themselves a massive hole, even the cab chassis' would be that rooted =]

Good work. Glad you cought them before they bid the dust. The opening shot was as good as the one from last week, really shows the power of these 07 Accos, they sound really good. No doubt that these old Penrith trucks still got the job done but i have to say that this one looks like it’s waiting for retirement. Looks like Sita didn’t maintenance the Penrith fleet good, they all look like they drive on theire last leg. Then you look at some local contractor who as a 15 year old truck that looks better than these ones. Any idea why the signage has a rusty look on the top? Also what happened around the 2 Minute mark where one bin wasn’t coming out of the grippers. This one reminds me a bit of the Wagga video with these 2007 Raptors tackling the Green Waste. Is there no restriction what kind of food can go in those bins, like meat or cooked food, because i in Germany can only put raw food in the fogo bin. Cooked food and meat and fish have to go in the garbage bin. Did you got the Visy Volvo GenV on film when you where there? When Visy terminated the contract, what did Suez use for the few months, i imagine the old ryde trucks or the ex Sutho Raptors? Did you catch the Suez recycling trucks or where you were there before Visy terminated the contract?

Let me just say there's a big difference in truck maintenance out there between small and big companies alone, but even just different yards, it's very easy to tell who cares and who doesn't. Quite a shame the state of some fleets out there past and present. That's a bit of a mystery to me about the signage worn away like it is... appeared standard on all the side loaders there with the lifter side "eaten away" at the top, yet the roadside of the signage would be almost fully intact. Not 100% sure what that bin got caught on, seemed at first the grabbers not opening did the job and maybe the lip of the bin got hooked on the spill shield, or maybe there was a crack in the bin that part of the grabber got hold of. What's is and isn't accepted in the bins varies between locations, I think it comes down to processing technologies and what can be broken down effectively - maybe some products can prove to be too troublesome and are just left out for quality of end product. Yes I got a Visy Volvo before they finished, got the big 35m too. SUEZ were using that old SL84 I videoed in Randwick, a couple of GenVs borrowed from St George and also some 22m MkIV side loaders, as far as I know the old Sutho trucks already had their fulltime duties. I got more video of SL84 and also SL74 which is one of the GenVs, unfortunately the MkIVs doing recycle were already done afterwards, as I was there on a smaller day.

I'm 20 and I want to drive a side-loader eventually. But I only have my car learners. So is it true I won't be able to drive a side loader until at least 5 years from now? I know I'm a just learner driver currently, but I feel like I could drive one of those right now without too many problems :P

In my case I got my MR on my first year of green Ps (18 years old) and could get my HR on my second year of green Ps (19 years old), so by time I got my full licence I was driving heavy vehicles for 2 years. I'm not sure what the situation is in NSW now or how it runs interstate - I don't need to keep up with that stuff anymore :P

Awesome video of the fogo service in Penrith!
I like the idea that kitty litter can be place in the fogo bin both the clay and paper based. Some councils with fogo allow kitty litter but some only just allow food and garden organics no kitty litter
I would like to see Parramatta and Ryde introduce fogo do you think it would be possible for Parramatta and Ryde to have the fogo service? Be very unlikely as there quite hugh tough but be interesting and I actually would prefer to use the green bin for food organics and kitty litter instead of the red bin!

Can be brought in very easily but councils dont wanna spent the rates on getting machines bc they use rates for crazy things like buying flowers or all expenses paid trips to america 😂

    • @AussieGarbo

A lot of councils in NSW have introduced a FOGO service in recent years and been very successful, so there's no reason other councils can't do it. Still sort of don't understand why only a single Sydney council has done it, yet heaps of regional locations have rolled out it... just doesn't make sense. Who knows what future collection contracts hold for some councils anyway, wait and see what happens! Might cost a bit more money to set up new facilities and roll out new equipment and increase runs, but when you think about Sydney, basically all councils already have a greens bin, you're not really adding extra collection vehicles and some processing capacity is readily available. Good spotting of the old Sutho truck too ;)
