I have a tip for you on cutting Walnut or any wood for that matter on the cnc. If you rough cut it 95%- 99% of the final dimension and then finish cut that last 1-5 % with a sharp single flute down cut End Mill it will give you very crisp and clean top edges and virtually no hand cleanup necessary. Depending on what you're cutting you might need to change that percent a bit but that's what I use most of the time. I use a compression bit for the rough cut so that it keeps the bottom nice and clean and doesn't blow out the top fibers as much
Cool tip man.
Thank you for saying it. So many content creators have started using CNC routers w/ little knowledge of how to properly implement tool usage. Always use a rough end mill first and clean-up to the final dimensions w/ a finish bit. Running around all the edges w/ a chamfer or round-over would've been a nice touch, too.
Matt, I'm sorry I am not the founder of a major hi-tech industry, otherwise I'd hire you IMMEDIATELY! You're a true genius.
Doubt he'd want to work in a company. He's too creative, being a worker would hinder him. Either he starts his own company making custom-made whatever tf customers want, or he stays solo making what HE wants!
He does what he wants and it helps humanity - nothing better than that
Im sorry but if you were an executive in an engineering company you wouldnt be so hyped about this. This channels projects are nice, but none of this is particularly hard or undoable for a professional engineer. All the people here are getting ultra hyped even tho most of it is rather basic engineering work. Just look at his last video, this camera lens thing, some guys in the comments are right now loosing their minds on the "precision" and "build quality" altought its made of 3D printed parts and aluminum profiles. This is just because 95% of the viewers are complete outsiders to engineering or any kind of metallwork or electronics so the stuff he builds looks like black magic, to someone actually working in industry its possibly entertaining but not very exciting to be honest.
@@advancedmicrosystems4658 Can agree even though I been studying engineering for 2 years this is basic stuff
He definitely wouldn't agree on that
This man is so effing smart that he even anticipated finger prints from peeling the protective film off and taped all the joints of the mirrors before peeling any. He's good.
he did that to make it one big peel instead of multiple small ones, not sure if it was for fingerprints or not but still smart haha
OMG you are right wtf?!!
All plastic sheeting comes with protective film installed from the factory. Only a moron would remove it prior to project completion.🤣🤣🤣
@@manicmic7114 he means fingerprints getting on it from trying to stick your finger under the film and smudge it just a tiny bit. not from removing it before completion

I think you've just found the perfect way to collaborate with other people. The presentation of this video, although different to your usual style was very well done. I'd like to see more, along with the usual style we've all loved for many years.
I'd also guess that Mrwhosetheboss would have paid for part of or all the material costs since he'll get to use it. I'm so glad this Collab happened!

This is a fantastic solution for Phones...
BUT it doesn't just apply to Phones...
Imagine how a Movie... Or Game Collection could look with this! (Obviously for display purposes, not so much for bulk storage)
BUT not only that but Commercial applications for this! For example phone, movie and game shops!
YES!
the commercial version would never be as good due to costs however it would be cool
For a shop it could be quite nice if you make it look less nice, but instead put RFID's in the price labels and automatically have the database update based on that so you know what's in stock, what's been taken out and where it is without manually having to update anything.
i would love these shelves for my video game collection, amazing job.very talented man

As an Engineering student, when I feel down and it gets hard… I’ll just have to remember videos like this!
This is quite an engineering marvel that is quite a DIY solution that is hard to replicate and that is very powerful and that is unheard of.
Thank you for the inspiration✨
looks incredible indeed, but i would not want to imagine how much dust that will be collecting there over extended period of time 😅
this will however be easily solved with mounting glas doors or something similar
My second reaction too 😅
Or air blower on the regular
My thoughts, exactly... specially when considering I live in a Caribbean island where keeping shelves 100% dust-free is nearly impossible unless you wipe them clean every other day. Now imagine having to remove ALL the smartphones and dusting EACH AND EVERY groove on this beautiful monstrosity... glass doors are a must
Dust-off tools. Easy peasy.
Two of my favorite youtubers, and matt is so humble and down to earth. What a gentleman
Definitely a solution for cd’s where the database could go down to Individual tracks and implement the barcodes. You could use Group by genre, label, alphabetical or even playlist driven lighting selection Then let’s talk modular!
might even be able to pull some of the genre info from existing databases.
i just wanted to see one extra thing: something related to fire hazard, there is a lot of Li-Li batteries stocked together and not even a single smoke detector, plus it is all made of wood
What if the phones have their batteries removed? >:P
@@LordDragox412 Very few phones let you remove the batteries these days - been like it for 4 or 5 years.

The fact that there is still so much more leftover space for more phones is honestly the most impressive part of this whole thing to me
Well, it stands to reason that Arun will keep on collecting phones... :)
@@isaacmadhavan oh I know, but the engineering to accommodate that is impressive

One thing that could make it better for me is a glass cover to prevent dust accumulation. But with that setup, it would be too heavy so....
