In real life, nothing can detect a stealth aircraft. Even with low fidelity radars, they can not get weapon grade locks on stealth aircraft. The pantsir can't even detect the f-35 which has a worse radar cross section that the f-117

So many war thunder players try and play this game like an arcade game. They don't use a fraction of thought to plan an attack run or any strategy at all. They want to spawn, fly to a target and blow it up without being killed. Any role you play, air to air, CAS, stealth, etc, you should look into real world strategies and why they operate the way they do.

Maybe the B-1 and B-2 bombers coming to continue the bomber line? Not quite sure how they’d fit into the game but the stealth on the B-2 may make a high tier bomber somewhat useful.
The strela with contrast missile (works on daytime) does decently agaisn't the f-117. You should test with it, it probably does better than the tunguska in getting the bomber (and it has no radar anyway). But I wonder if gaijin messed the render distance of the f-117 to improve it, other wise within 6km you're cooked agaisn't an strela and in my experience, it's easy to notice planes.
Will the F-117 is definitely in my top five favorite aircraft and the only issue I have with it is the BR rating for Ground Battle it seems about right but I'm hoping for simulator it's at least 10 and I would probably put it at 10.7 to at least match the warthog late I think it would be good for attacking Airfield defense and convoys I think it would be a challenging plane to fly and I like challenges😅
The significant thing with this update isn't the F-117. It's that they're developing a stealth system in the game. Assign a different model to this plane, tweak the fifa sliders a bit and you have an F-22/F-35/SU-57. Maybe then we'll get a B-2 Nuke plane

People need to hop off of the circlejerking with razors in their hands, it's ok to spend some money on something just for the sake of having fun, not everything has to be some self-deprecating challenge to grind as hard as you can to get all the meta vehicles to game the mechanics of the game and all their flaws. Breathe and have some fun every once in a while, go back down to tier 2 and play with an m22, go buy that jet you really aren't ready to fly, give naval another try, quit working yourself for no paycheck.
i stick with it: the plane is completely useless in AirRB - and for ground, the 117 is quite visible to other aircraft and even if they cannot get a radar lock on you , they all have guns

I observed the exact same tactics being used against me while I was grinding spaa seeing the more skilled pilots beaming the radar until final approach into the cone of silence, leaving me next to no knowledge of their presence until the bombs start to hit.
Once you hit above or at the 5000 meter mark in the sky your vontrails are gonna just give you away anyways plus if its a lazer guided bomb that would let them know as well right? Plus in Iraq the americans troops actuall marked the tagets will a lazer the enemy couldnt see as well so we dont have that in WT right now anyways so guess no ones marking enemy unless its a light tank.
@alekndov7300 yes, but keep in mind the F-117s flew 100s of sorties near the same sytems at sometimes even closer distances. The S-125 only was able to shoot when a pilot got unlucky. The operators knew where and when the nighthawks were coming and going, yet, for days upon days, couldnt shoot one until someone opened there bays at the wrong place at the wrong time. Thats shootdown had nothing to do with stealth. If it did, the F-22, F-35, B-21, Su-57, and J-20 wouldnt exist; because if the serbs really did prove stealth was just a gimmick, america wouldve abandoned it, and no one else wouldve been able to pick it up and follow suit, because nobody (america) was ther to innovate in the first place.

Nowadays stealth aircraft are much more advanced their technology has been perfected, but the F-117 is from the 80's and I think it has its flaws it was designed to avoid radars from its era. Im trying to say maybe a modern radar like the Pantsir would be able to lock it at 13km if irl a less advanced radar was capable at 15km. The Pantsir radar is very advanced and uses EHF extremely high frequency, its at least more than 30 times more powerful than the model who locked the F-117. I may be wrong or not but honestly you wrote a good comment, anyways the Pantsir is not going to face the Nighthawk in the game and it stills in development.
Let's be honest, the F-117 carries two bombs, no gun, no countermeasures, and goes about as fast as the A-4. It is a fun gimmick. AA doesn't need radar to shoot things down in WT so not being detected is a small advantage

Search radars generally cover a limited range of angles vertically. The limit in question here is the maximum angle the radar can "see" upwards. Thus, you get a conical region of space above you that remains uncovered by your search radar. That is the cone of silence.
helicopters already have stealth in this game, somehow a turboshaft turbine engine isnt hot enough for a mistral to lock onto past 2km despite having 6 km lock range. Do we need that shit for planes too now?
I mean, surely you've noticed how certain planes with certain smaller engines are harder to lock, F5 and A6E for instance. I was looking at the turbine in X-ray the other day of a helo and thar turbine only produced like 200kgf. Even the F5Cs engine produces like 1300, and that's very low, many jets hit 6000kgf. So that's why it's hard to lock. Also cause small, behold how easy it is to lock Hinds compared to other helis
Stealth isn’t working still. I can drop guided bombs from a distance in an F15A and not be detected. GBU8 would be perfect for it - and I’ve done it. It’s a plane for people who want it for the cool factor, but practicality just isn’t there for me.
Calling it now, this is going to be the revenge bomber of choice, it's the drone but with the ability to get close and not get shot down first.
It's not fast enough for revenge bombers unless you're sacrificing your stealth, so i doubt it

It was later explained by Serbia that they didn't know that the nighthawk was supposed to be invisible.
Is it even realistic that con trails would be created at that altitude in a desert? I feel like they need to re-work that aspect in war thunder.

You can climb to 4000m with Fj-4B and kill Tunguska. You will be higher than Tunguska radar
6000m for Ito90 and flarakrad.

Yes you'll slowly cool down, but you'll also run out of battery, so you lose radar, irst, and thermals
