- We are in the process of remastering the video for better audio and video effects...
The Consolidation Coal Company founded the city of Jenkins in 1912 however this was no ordinary coal camp. Join us for a 263 year look at this 100 year old town. Together we'll discover the reasons that make Jenkins a "Very unique place for quite a few reasons that do not come readily to the eye." and answer the questions - "Did President James Garfield really spend the night in Jenkins?" and "Why did he burn the town down when he left?"
A special thank you to Opal Mae Bailey of OmB Photography, Jason Helton of Helton Photography for their wonderful work which can be viewed by clicking the links below

My Dad was born in Wise in 1924. His Dad worked the mines and soon moved to Jenkins. I took him and 2 of his brothers back to visit about 20 years ago and got to see the areas. Lots of history.
Yes there really is. We are glad that you got to come back to see the area with him.
I don't live there anymore but it will always be home.
Home of the ancestors
