You make the loveliest cards. Have copied a couple of your cards for weddings over the years and always had lovely comments about them. Keep pumping out those gorgeous cards.
Christina, this card is beautiful! I admire your work and find myself lifting your creation ideas! Thank you so much for giving back to our crafting community!
Thank you for your tutorials. You have a very pleasant voice. I appreciate your video timesaving by having the pieces already die cut. Your card is beautiful!
perfectangel60 I will be adding more tutorials but since I was made the International Ambassador for Spellbinders life has been very busy. I add a new written tutorial to the blog every Tuesday and they are all in the side bar to the right. Look for Tuesday Tutorial on flowersribbonsandpearls.blogspot.co.uk
This card took my breath away. I am a newbie and I am amazed at how you can create such beauty. I feel very inadequate but am going to attempt to start with simple. Thank you for showing me what is possible, Christina!
create557 Yes you can do this ... just take your time and follow the steps. Use dies that you have and adapt them to suit. And your card too will be gorgeous Cxx
I just love everything you make, you are so inspiring. You also use some beautiful papers, can you give me some idea what and where to get them, I cannot seem to find anything I like.
What a beautiful card, I know you use wet glue a lot, when I use wet glue it makes the paper buckle. I live in a place where we have a lot of humidity could that be why. I love all of your tutorials.
Marion Burch Do you have a product called Rubber Cement where you live? If so, it is great for paper crafts as you won't get the paper buckling. and if you get glue on the edges where you don't want it, it can just be rubbed off when it dries. It comes in a little bottle with a brush. I live in Canada and it is available everywhere from craft stores to hardware stores. Hope this helps!
The wet glue that I use is Cosmic Shimmer and it is an Acrylic glue. It dries really quickly has a very strong bond and it dries clear. I add a thin line around the edges of the card and then squish some in the centre. The glue you have could be a PVA glue and that will buckle the card especially if you use too much. I don't know where you are based but the Cosmic Shimmer is available from many craft shops both on the High Street and on line or if you are in Canada try Janinas' suggestion Cxx
+Brenda Wadsworth There are many A2 dies in lots of styles and for all the info that you need you can visit their website to take a look at shapes and sizes ... here is the link for you ... spellbinderspaperarts.com/shop/
Amazing as always! What gsm is the card stock you use for matting and layering? I worry mine end up too thick. Also, do you make your own envelopes and how? I have the scoreboard from crafters companion but I can't make them big enough for all the elements x
Kimberley King The card I use for most of my designs is about 260 gsm and sometimes up to 300 ... I usuall y make a box for the cards I give as I add flowers to most of the cards and they take up a lot of room. I have several box tutorials and you will find them and others at ... www.card-making-magic.com/cardmakingtutorials.html
Thank you for the link you sent me - brilliant naturally. Can I also ask when you create the base do you then attach it to a backing piece of card so that it can stand up like a normal card? Hope this isn't a stupid question. x
Gaynor Southerton The video shows you how I have made the base card but there are also other videos to explain the hinged card ... here is the link for you ... www.card-making-magic.com/createahingedcard.html and the other is .. www.card-making-magic.com/makingcardsmystyle.html hope that helps you
You make it look so effortless, Christina! I sit at my table with all my card making things in front of me and have no idea where to begin. You are so inspiring....hope you don't mind that I use your ideas! For your embossed pieces do you emboss first and then die cut, or die cut and then emboss?

This is so simple and looks so easy, but I just don't have all the dies you use. :( And stores around here (Calif) are sadly no longer selling spellbinders dies. From what I have heard they are all going to a new cutting system.... not sure what. When you cut the foam, are you just using a regular platform and cutting plates?
Ellen Hofer Spellbinders have lots of new things coming out in the future ... but you don't need them all. Just look at the dies that you have and see if they can be adapted in a different way, and yes the craft foam is only thin and cuts just the same way as your card does Cxx
As always wonderful but being new to this, can you tell me the difference between basics A and B - does this give an allowance to show to show a small border? x
Gaynor Southerton Yes they allow a smaller border with the two sets than with just one set and there is a video to explain what I mean ... www.card-making-magic.com/spellbindersmattingbasics.html
Hi Christina - I have watched many of your videos and they are fantastic. I have just purchased a new Teal Grand Calibur and I am so excited. I have purchased Spellbinder die Mini Envelope - The envelope cuts ok but the small dies that come with it just do not cut - I have followed the instructions of which plates to use - trying many times they just do not cut. What am I doing wrong - hope you can help. Thanks Dawn - Your You Tube site is fantastic.
Dawn Savage Some of the pieces to the mini envelopes are not designed to cut. They are there to emboss the shape only ...so please don't be disappointed with them. It's not a fault with you, you are doing nothing wrong. That is they way they are made Cxx
Christina Griffiths Thank you so much - I understand now just not feeling confident with my new machine. You are an inspiration with all your help and guidance. A big thank you - Dawn xx
+Ian Murphy The dies that I am using are the 5x7 Matting Basics A and B and the Modern Stationery also a 5x7 size ... The link will show you the die set and give you the actual sizes of these and the A2 Modern Stationery www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/product/5-x-7-modern-stationery Hope it helps you Cxx
