In 1957 Albany had two claims to fame. It was a tiny village at the bottom of the fist steep hill on the main highway north. But it’s main claim to fame was the pub. In the days of the six o-clock swill if you lived on the North Shore and ran out of beer at a party up until about midnight you could hop in your car drive to the Albany Pub and knock on the back door and buy a dozen bottles of beer.. basically from Takapuna to Albany was basic farm land before the bridge opened. If I only knew I could be a millionaire now.
Cheers Mark. Another real good 'look-see'. Here's a wee idea that came to me whilst watching. I reckon it'd be bloody good if you did a steady 'Walk to 'The Park' on a Blues home match-day; like a real hot 'decider' or derby game. Also, a walk and 'film as you go' when the AB's are hosting Oz or SBoks.......... That'd be sound, and pretty unique, too. Your filming quality is right up there, and you've got the knowlegde about where to be.. if you did either and mentioned it on 'Two-Cents' folks'd hop across to this channel, especially the home and away match-day supporters, incase they could see themselves and say, "I know. I was there".
I did this one for Patreon back in 2020 mate - kind of a look around Eden Park at match day (it was our first game with fans after coming out of lockdown) - ua-cam.com/video/kjkNZvX8oCE/v-deo.html
