    It was quite a thrill to watch you draw the oval from the four reference points. I am a calligrapher, not up there with the masters or anything but not a novice either. Ovals and curves are what we practise. Drawing an oval is not as easy as you made it look. Those shapes you create as each layer progresses also create an infinite number of ways in which it could go wrong. Yet the sculpture has such balance of form it is breathtaking. Thank you for taking time to share it with us.

    Just wondered if you could use the lower slate as a template? Or is it already glued?

    • @jamesparkersculpture
      @jamesparkersculpture  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Dee. No it's not fixed - I build quite a lot before fixing it periodically. It's not the same so if I used it as a template it would only help get a rough shape. The other thing to think about is that the shape is determined partly by the thickness of the stone:If the stone is thin then the shape would be more similar to the stone beneath/above, if it is thick then the difference is greater. Even though this stone is fairly similar in thickness it can vary by a few millimetres which makes quite a difference.

    • @aodelta9473

      Well the long and short of it, a torus stone is a donut shaped rock with a hole in the middle that generates magnetic and electromagnetic fields.
