Yes you can. Example, you are dribbling and opposition player comes from behind, so you can shield and dribble. Watch the video around 0:06s & 0:49s. It is a little difficult, but you will get used to the timing. Hope it helps 👍.
Hey, Great question. It is up to you. You can press L2 for shield while dashing. => Make sure that you do it when defender comes close to your back or is trying to pull you. => Pressing L2 while Dashing with R2 will affect your run, since the player will try to shield the ball.
