years ago, toyo team was unstoppable, Kawabata and Kuroi always get insane angles, with a beautiful twin drift on each battle, he is now drifting in other world... I SALUTE YA KUROI SENSEI!

On the evening of 1 February 2010 Kuroi was hit by another vehicle whilst travelling home from work on his motorcycle. Kuroi later died in hospital after bleeding to death from injuries to his thigh.
A memorial for Kuroi was featured at the Osaka Auto Messe.

Look at the opposite lock on that drift, insane angle and crazy setup. R.I.P A. Kuroi

  •  12 років тому

As much as I loved watching Kuroi's performances, I still wanted to see him drive a car that wasn't as heavily modified as his drifter was.
Setting the angle of the tires higher, incresing the horsepower by 400-600hp, modifications worth of over 40-50.000US.$. To me, that's not what drifting is about.
I personally am very pleased that Tsuchiya decided to form "Drift Muscle", where rules forbid a driver from having extreme horsepower and modifications on the car. It's all about the driver there.

@wannagoodcar D1gp would take the cake. The japanese have this afinity for drift that far surpasses anyone in the western hemisphere. The competiton would be intense though, and well worth whatever the tickets would cost.

option dvd did a special called something along the lines of "magic drift" or "drift magician" that highlighted the guys who actually go backwards. it was daigo saito, kawabata and kuroii, right before he died. someone needs to upload that one. its got the 3 of them standing backwards on the cover. if you want to know how its done, google "gp sports hyper knuckles"

Nope, it's an RB26 pushing 600 hp in that round, but usually 700 hp. It is capable of a little over 800 hp, though decreases the reliability of the engine.
