Don't forget, that under the rules, Honda may be forced to supply engines under the rules of F1. Yes, let's see if they can beat Sauber/Audi as to me they will be their nearest type or team. Brawm bought Honda, not Toyota.
FYI re engine supplier, it would more than likely be Ferrari, but if they can't make a deal they'd have Honda engines as they are duty bound to provide the engine, F1 reverse should of known that 😂
Honda have signed an exclusive deal with Aston Martin. I don't know the exact details but I can't imagine Lawrence Stroll would want Honda renegading on that deal. The duty bound bit you mention, I assume, only applies if the supplier wants to supply the engine. My understanding was that get first dibs on new customers, not that they are forced to supply a new customer as they are the engine supplier with the least customers
@F1REVERSE I believe it would still apply based on current rumours, but F1 we know how rumours work. I'm happy to be wrong but I believe this is a pipeline option as Audi would be the only other engine but obviously being newer Honda would be the primary. However thank you for your reply I appreciate that 👍 Nice to talk F1 knowledge.
@@matthewwright408 I think you are right man I remember when Honda pulled out of red bull they were going to be forced to use Renault engines as they have the least customers. They opted to not go back to that bad deal.
@@stevenblake2751 yeah that's why my understanding is that IF they don't make a short term deal with Ferrari (which I believe the strong talks are currently with) then Honda it is despite Stroll wanting otherwise. But potential engine supplier aside it's nice to know there's an 11th team coming.
The same Pat Symonds who got banned from Formula 1 for his involvement in "Crash Gate"? I'm surprised, you didn't mention his "moral compass", George. Do I detect a bit of the aul Brit bias here? 😂
Nothing against the new team but out of all gm brands Cadillac seems like a luxury brand than a motorsports brand but there may be some history to it that I’m unaware of
They have room and funding for 12 teams. And Andretti's bid was 100% adequate under the rules/requirements that were put before them, they were hindered in gaining entry out of spite and greed.
If GM is trying to sell more Cadillac cars in the States and compete with BMW and Mercedes in US sales, then it's imperative to have a US driver. I honestly believe Herta deserves a chance to showcase his racing skills in F1. The other driver can be a proven F1 driver, like Bottas.
Meh, Still won't help Cadillac's image in the USA as an old peoples car. They sell more SUV's then cars and their cars are nothing more than pimped up Chevrolets with truck parts in them now and if you are lucky you can get one with a Corvette engine in it. Only potential positive is that GM has a history of quickly getting racing tech into production cars, if they do that, it will be a good thing.
Danny Ric & Colton Herta. Also it seems as though people don’t realize just how much of a Motorsports pedigree Cadillac actually has. Hell they’re currently racing in the IMSA and WEC right now.
Following Michael Andretti and his racing career for a very long time, it's obvious that this has been Michael's dream for a long time and his involvement and drive to start an F1 team cannot be denied. Unfortunately, Michael went about it the wrong way.
I hope this is true. We'll know more at the end of 2025. start of 2026. I guess GM/Cadillac can't their own engine ready in two years? What was Andretti planning on using?
Brawn bought Honda not Toyota
100 per cent right...I think they bought the team for One Pound...and today it is Mercedes
Sorry, you are 100% correct. It was at the end of 09 that Toyota dropped out. Had the two mixed up in my head
@@gonzalvezalvez6572 the Honda executive still has the pound and takes it with him everywhere
MoneyGram Haas, Stake... Those are the names I think of when I think "names of value to F1". What a fucking joke F1 has become
thought Brawn took over Hondas operation, not Toyotas......
Why the intense hate for for Michael Andretti?
I know but simple minds wear blinders.
Apparently, he must have really ruffled some feathers with FOM, and how he approached them.
Pump amd dump?
While a criminal like Briatore is welcomed
His actions were embarrassing. Zero good could have ever come from his stunt during a race weekend.
Silva, new Formula One team, “Andretti Cadillac” Has neither Andretti running it, or Cadillac powering it! What interesting world we live in today

Renault engine makes the most sense for as they can buy out Renault's engine dept
