Niko Bellic is the most well written and realistic character in the entire GTA franchise.

I know that being a war veteran, having a traitor, these a serious things in real life, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a very cliche, and overused personality type, which kinda takes away the complexity part. Also, it is not like he is the only gta character like that, almost all gta protagonists have a questionable background that they aren't proud of, and they are also after traitors, Tommy was like that, just like CJ, or Michael, especially I like Michael because of how actually encounterable character type he is in real life, which makes him feel more humane in my opinion. So, if he is that similar to other gta protagonists, I don't get your point of what makes Niko the best one of them.
@@xlnr2788 the very thing you call cliche is what makes Niko the best, all of GTA protagonists aren't relatable than Niko cuz the criminal from the start is not really as good as an immigrant came to America to start a new life yet life turns down on him and forces him to return the life he despise which shows from the line in "bleed out" when he swore himself not to kill people in LC yet he kills people in 90% of the story
I know Micheal did the same thing but only happens when his wife cheated on him with the tennis coat which he could have ignored and Trevor wouldn't bother to find him

And yes, I do hate him a lot for killing my boi Johnny. The more I feel angry for Trevor, the more I feel to absolutely kill Ashley. It was all *HER* fault. She is the main problem. She caused all of this. But something doesn't make any sense. At the end of Tlad, Johnny broke the biker club, burnt the MC clubhouse and lost touch with Ashley.
Then, how did he reunite with the brothers again, reform the club and reunite with Ashley?!

Luis might not be as dangerous as the other protagonists but he was the most chilled down to earth person in the series, he also had the most rizz
had the most sex-related scenes in the game and he is unphased after it

For me, Vic Vance is the best protagonist. He's really the kind of character who doesn't want to be a bandit, he even wants to do good by joining the army. He is literally the perfect gentleman who does everything for his family and those who love him. (Lance : brother / Louise : girlfriend / Phi : best friend)

I'll be honest, I struggled to get through LC Stories, I don't think I ever completed it, actually. I played VC Stories first, which was awesome so maybe that spoiled it for me. I still have it, and I still have a backwards compatible PS3, but lately it's been struggling to play games at the moment. If I get it to fire up a game, I'll give that game another go. But last I remembered, I wasn't enjoying it.

Really nice to see Michael getting more support! Niko is my personal favourite protagonist, he has my favourite personality and backstory.
People have their opinions but I think Michael is a better and more interesting character than Niko was. Him being this ungrateful, hypocritical, backstabbing shitbag that only cared to save his own skin, living a life that was both luxurious but very hollow and empty, and being forced to have his past sins thrown right back in his face. He kinda reminds me of Tony Soprano in some ways. There's plenty to like about the other games' protags, but tbh I think each of the 3 characters from V have a lot more going on than people give them credit for.

CJ and Niko are my favorites easily. I always loved how realistic a character like Niko felt compared to the batshit insane Trevor. He’s a depressed foreign veteran. He doesn’t revel in the violence he causes. And he often goes out of his way to help people even though he is a criminal. He’s so well written and actually remorseful for many of the things he’s done. Most underrated GTA protagonist ever

Claude speed on the other hand is just a character in GTA2 that you play as but is not the same Claude from GTA3 or San Andreas.

@@vcsa681 I don't really look back and think LCS was anywhere near a bad game. It was formulaic and very similar to the previous 3 entries but I had a lot of fun playing though its mafia story at the time as a young teenager.
