Now I KNOW a lot of people requested this one for a long time. Small UA-cam lesson for you, THIS is called a tentpole, you hold you videos until everyone is searching for it. lol I'll watch the movie this afternoon and let you guys know my opinions
"And a final one of Raven's face as she comes out with a scowl, staring at Terra" Me: "So in other words, she's looking at Terra the same way she looks at everyone else"
You forgot in part 1 of this story that Gar and Terra were sparring, and Gar provoked Terra enough that she flipped out and almost kills him. A pretty important aspect to show how unstable Terra is.
Dear Comicstorian, Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. You do a lot of new comics. That's great but I really enjoy the old ones. From the 1980s and 1970s. That is why this video is awesome. I think I will like and subscribe. And obviously already leaving a comment below. Lol. Until next time... Sincerely, KrayzieJoker
I have to say, my favorite stories as a kid were the Keebler anti drug books that they did with Perez on art. Even though I faced against my own problems with it, that set of stories with Robin as Guardian are still with me to this day.
DUDE THANK YOU FOR ME NOT BEING THE ONLY ONE TO CATCH THAT! Terra implies they slept together but if the timeline is accurate she would have been 15 and hes like 40!
If you ever read the All New Teens Titans after Terra is reveal to be working with Slate, there been hints at that from the beginning. Who is your Daddy, Terra? LOL
it's so funny that Terra was always evil, but they still remembered her as a hero for the entirety of Wolfmans run. it wasn't until later that writers allowed them to acknowledge her evil and hatred, and even then, when she was brought back in an alternate future storyline, she was still allowed an inexplicable redemption
If you look at the comics in the 70's and 80's you saw how quick the characters used strategy more during there fights then compared to how they are portrayed now.
I remember reading this a few years ago. This is probably one of my favourite story arcs in comics. Now I can listen to it while doing homework. Thanks!
I've always Despised Terra. In every comic, show and video I've seen her in. She's so pathetic emotionally. So easily swayed. So murderously inclined. Ugh.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I was under the impression she still betrayed Beast boy in that series. That's the new 52 one where beast boy got his powers from the Red right?
Oh. Hmm. Maybe I remembered the little I know about that series incorrectly. Oh wait. She died in that series right? Along with all of Gar's team? Or am I wrong? I should just look this up XD
She and all the others were fine they just got teleported to another place and delivered to Harvest except for Terra who Slade decided to keep but she eventually just left him after an incident involving Jericho.
i'm old enough to remember reading these issues as they came out not in TPB. I'm that old. Man the suspense was killing me. Not sure what was going to happen. Favorite story of all time for the Titans.
I was kinda bummed when they killed off Jericho in the animated movie (even though he wakes up in the end). I wish Nightwing had his help to defeat Blood and Slade. Although, I like that Terra redeemed herself at the end of the movie unlike the comics. Also, wish Donna Troy got more exposure in animation.
If I had been a Titan, I would have quit out of disgust as soon as I heard these imbeciles were honoring Terra as a hero despite all the despicable things she had done.
I just watched the movie. It was good but the original is still better. I always knew they couldn't do the story exactly how it was in the comics because of Nightwing, Robin, and Blue Beetle but I what I really missed was Jericho. The way Jericho was introduced in the comic and how he made Deathstroke turn on Terra was something I really missed. The way the movie was like at the end with Jericho was like "Hey! Remember him? Yeah he was important in the comic so we throw him in at the end". I did enjoy the interaction between Dick and Damian but that's normal today, and also Starfire and Dick was good when it's actually them... *cough* Teen Titans Go *cough*. With all of that the movie was still pretty good. It could have been better but whatever.
I wouldn't classify her as a "little girl" she was evil, she was 15 she was old enough to know what she was doing. Personal responsibility is a great thing :)
Thanks for making this video and telling this story with such passion. It feels bad when super heroes or villains die. There could have been an awesome redemption story arc for Terra and upto the end of the story i was hoping that she would get to her senses, unfortunately it was meant to be. RIP Terra my favorite teen Titan.
Terra's power is not only tremendous but it's her biggest nightmare. It fear her life all the time, since when she lived with her neighborhood, when she was alway struggle with her power, how Slade exploited it and she became evil unluckily. And how she died because of her power too. Anyway, I appreciate how TT movie let her survived and not use her power anymore. That's how she could enjoy the peaceful life best
She slammed Damien with a rock to debilitate him, took out Raven, almost killed Robin while defenselessly captured, and continued her work as a spy. She seemed pretty evil lol

+Hejka Fame Just because you do bad things doesn't necessarily mean your evil. In the comics Terra was a complete sociopath that died trying to kill all the Titans because she hated them all. The comic goes out of it's way to present Terra as the irredeemable villian due to nobodies influence beside her own. In the movie, the try to present Terra as this sympathetic character who was raised by Deathstroke to be a bad guy. The movie itself can be enjoyable if a little dumb with it's explanations, but I don't think hard-core Titan fans will enjoy it because it completely misses the point of the teams dilemma in the comics.
I was not expecting a direct translation from the comics, same with Avengers 2.5: Civil War and for when Infinity Gauntlet (War) comes out, but the updated iteration with a mostly different Titans team was well executed. The end was not all that clear and some fat man wouldn't shut up.
this is by far the best titans story ever. one of the top 5 best comic book stories of all time. my issue with the animated movie is #1 they insist on keeping Raven a little girl. like wtf. #2 the insist on pushing this Damian Wayne Robin on everything. he's not that good of a character. #3 (and this is my biggest complaint about the DC animated universe) Donna Troy is INTEGRAL to the Titans and always neglected. it would have been nice to stick to the comic story 100%
The movie was largely the same as the comic book. Not just in terms of the story, but there are even visual similarities, including Terra's dress, the power-stealing device (Raven was even lying down in the exact same way), and Deathstroke breaking into Dick's apartment. Great job as always Comicstorian. Thanks to your videos I read almost all of the New 52 Flash stuff. Keep being awesome.
Angel Pena If Batman has said Dick is as capable as him in many regards, he should be able to take down Deathstroke. But I guess at the end it all comes down to what direction the plot needs to go
+Ahmad Hayat You clearly never saw Under the Red Hood, All-Star Superman, Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox, Mask of the Phantasm, green lantern: First Flight, Batman: Assault on Arkham, Batman: Dark Knight Returns, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, or Batman: Year One.
fun fact: Flashpoint paradox is in animated dc cannon. Its what started it all, pay attention to the flash's costume at the end of the movie, then to the rest of the cannon movies. its the beginning of the new 52!
Betrayed them in the end? It was her long term plan the whole time.... lol great video though. Please keep them coming because listening to these legit gets me through work every day.
Thanks for covering this dude! I'd heard of the Judas Contract ever since the animated series finished back in 06/07 and they were planning a movie on it (but dropped it). It's pretty cool to finally know the original story here and with the new animated film out, it'll be pretty cool to check this out too! Not see it yet, but hopefully it'll be great! :)
I got to watch the new animated film at WonderCon 2017. There are many nods to the original story, though not a direct screen to panel recreation. I liked it a lot and recommend it.
Though the Teen Titans animated series didn't exactly adapt this story I actually prefer The Terra in the series and her storyline. She wasn't just simply evil to be evil making her betrayal and demise that more tragic. I hope the movie goes more along with the Terra from the series.
Looked alright to me, she was evil at the beginning then became good after being with the titans but still betrayed them and didn't care about them dying but showed that she actually cared for beastboy a bit at the end. Perfect.
never heard the actual origin story before. nice job dude & I really like it. really gives me some insight of the censoring from CN's "child friendly" version
Haven't seen the movie yet, but do have the series. It was a great story run, and it was where they changed over from Teen Titans to Tales of the Titans. Simply the whole idea that One of their own could double cross them without them, even Raven not seeing it. Plus the Slow escalade of the Dark Raven was also Awesome.
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!! This totally explains the storyline for the Terra Episodes in Teen Titans!!!!!!!!! I love both and completely appreciate both originals even though they are completely different and awesome in their own rights!!!!!!!
Now I KNOW a lot of people requested this one for a long time. Small UA-cam lesson for you, THIS is called a tentpole, you hold you videos until everyone is searching for it. lol I'll watch the movie this afternoon and let you guys know my opinions
Comicstorian can you make martian manhunter vs plastic man
Comicstorian thank you I've been waiting
Comicstorian i hope the new movie Teen Titans is 10 times better becase this story was great
Just finished watching The Judas Contract and it is good, DCU really needs the live action movies written by the animated writers.
Do Flash Rouges Reloaded PLEASE!
"And a final one of Raven's face as she comes out with a scowl, staring at Terra"
Me: "So in other words, she's looking at Terra the same way she looks at everyone else"
XD
Steven M Attrell right
"Jericho looks into Deathstroke's eyes"
Eye. Just one eye.
One eye
Nightwing-gets defeated by rocks in this story
Nightwing-gets killed by a rock in injustice
Rocks are his weakness!! :3
Looks like we've found Nightwing's kryptonite.
Behold ROCKMAN
Sidious everything is kryptonite to nightwing.
talon
batman
damian
even harley quinn. WTF
His relationship with Starfire...his relationship with Barbara...
You forgot in part 1 of this story that Gar and Terra were sparring, and Gar provoked Terra enough that she flipped out and almost kills him. A pretty important aspect to show how unstable Terra is.
oh dear that nightwing costume, the 80s man..
No hero is, was, or ever will be as fashion as Discowing
lmao Discowing, is that what people call it :p?
Yep! Until he joined the '90s and transformed into Mulletwing, giving us yet another Dick Grayson Look™.
lmfao that's brilliant i love it
Things I try to forget: that shirt.
Anyone else think that this Terra would be a great edition to Superman's Regime in Injustice?
Oh Hell nah! A superpowered insane Markovian is the last thing we need to add to Superman's Regime!
Infinity Albi lol 😂 ikr
Probably yeah
@@Rebelheart1985 of were talking the Wolfman and Perez version, yeah. If we're talking 2003...hard to say
@@jaredgarcia8638 Probably not the 2003 version. She was more light hearted when compared to the comic book version or even the DCAMU version.
Am I the only one who likes the Titans way more than the Justice League?
Of course not, Titans Forever.
Looks like there are two of yawl at least!
FUCK BATMAN
I do
Titans forever!
I love both
Dear Comicstorian,

RIP THE GREATEST COMIC BOOK UA-camR OF ALL TIME, COMICSTORIAN!
I have to say, my favorite stories as a kid were the Keebler anti drug books that they did with Perez on art. Even though I faced against my own problems with it, that set of stories with Robin as Guardian are still with me to this day.
deathstroke and terra were having a relationship in the comics...
DUDE THANK YOU FOR ME NOT BEING THE ONLY ONE TO CATCH THAT! Terra implies they slept together but if the timeline is accurate she would have been 15 and hes like 40!
man, comics in the 80s are weird and creepy
David Nguyen you took the words out of my mouth. they ran loose and fast with everything
gross
If you ever read the All New Teens Titans after Terra is reveal to be working with Slate, there been hints at that from the beginning. Who is your Daddy, Terra? LOL
Soooooo we not gon report deathstroke and terras under age relationship to the cops lol?
KingSway | NoobKing who's gonna arrest him tho
Do you want to be the guy to arrest him?
Batman will arrest DS duh lol
Deathstroke would escape the cops before they could even blink
good luck finding the guy brave enough to arrest him
Holy Shit I saw Jericho in the original cartoon. So this whole time he was slade's son.
yup!
And the second Ravager is his daughter. Dunoo if was in show, but yeah.
CJ what anime is your profile pic form?
Madara Uchiha Blood blockade battlefront
CJ thank you so much
9:39 - that's a sassy little outfit Dick, going out to a disco and then turkish bath house? Donnie Osmand wants his look back.

"How does he know Robin is Dick Grayson"
How dafuq does a flimsy domino mask keep anybody's identity secret?
Lmao true

The movie was surprisingly spot on.
Some changes (obviously) but I liked the changes.
So they are basically covering up for her even though she was evil the whole time
Whenever I read this story I imagine that Nightwing was wearing the other suit
I read this story arc when it originally came out. I loved it then :) Yes this is one of the best story arcs from the 80s. Thanks for sharing.
Getting the power to "enter peoples bodies and control them" seems like quite the jump from "super soldier serum"
Not cool Terra in bird culture this is considered a dick move.
it's so funny that Terra was always evil, but they still remembered her as a hero for the entirety of Wolfmans run. it wasn't until later that writers allowed them to acknowledge her evil and hatred, and even then, when she was brought back in an alternate future storyline, she was still allowed an inexplicable redemption
Kids today will never have superhero comic books this good.
lol yes they will. There's STILL great and fantastic comic books coming out now as there was for YEARS now.
Is it just me or were the fights back then more strategic in general?
They where
Token Dave where? 😂
If you look at the comics in the 70's and 80's you saw how quick the characters used strategy more during there fights then compared to how they are portrayed now.
noticed in that time and the court of owls were strategic!
This sounds familiar. I just watched the animated version yesterday titled Teen Titan Judas Contract I think?!
I remember reading this a few years ago. This is probably one of my favourite story arcs in comics. Now I can listen to it while doing homework. Thanks!
I love it when Benny does classic stories!
I've always Despised Terra. In every comic, show and video I've seen her in. She's so pathetic emotionally. So easily swayed. So murderously inclined. Ugh.
You should check out the Ravagers book then in there she is actually a nice person.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I was under the impression she still betrayed Beast boy in that series. That's the new 52 one where beast boy got his powers from the Red right?
Yes that is the one and no she did not she had never even met Deathstroke before when he showed up at the end of the series.

i'm old enough to remember reading these issues as they came out not in TPB. I'm that old. Man the suspense was killing me. Not sure what was going to happen. Favorite story of all time for the Titans.
slade and him losing his eye seems to be a popular thing now a days
this is one the best-known story i have ever heard.
Willis Dickens except for the terra sleeping with deathstroke part.yes they hint at that in this story....terra is 15 btw
Alex Mansfield what was the time stamp on that cause I didn't understand that reference
16 actually, but that isn't much better.
Alex Mansfield he’s not a good person, if that’s any consolation.
Alex Mansfield I thought in the old comics they weren’t actually teens, but were called teen titans because most of them began their careers as teens
That wasn't Jericho brother blood took his powers it was blood in Jericho's body
I love you man, you remind me why it's good to be alive
An earth bender really took out 20 superpowered people..
I love it!!! Takes me back to the series, I love how they incorporated Terra, makes me wanna watch Judas Contract again.
If I had been a Titan, I would have quit out of disgust as soon as I heard these imbeciles were honoring Terra as a hero despite all the despicable things she had done.
Agreed.
Vernedi if u were a titan you would not know the things she has done
She had a good brother who loved his sister a great deal. Also Killian your comment is nonsensical.
that's immature
They did it to spare the feelings of Prince Brion Markov (Geo-Force) and King Gregor Markov of Markovia....

I guess Terra wasn't...Down to earth!
David Nguyen LOL!!! Horrible pun’s funny for once.
I miss young Justice it was a great TV show
Sean Mone
The comic or the show?
it's coming back
They're still writing the story of Young Justice, and haven't even started animating it. We're not gonna get YJ back for a while.
Sean Mone season 3
It will be bacc in October of this year
Reminds me of what happened in the teen titans cartoon.
That story arc is based on this.
This story was amazing, action packed and heart warming. 10/10!
Heart warming? A little girl dies at end. I mean if you include Beast Boy and Deathstroke becoming friends the end then I guess it's heartwarming.
I wouldn't classify her as a "little girl" she was evil, she was 15 she was old enough to know what she was doing. Personal responsibility is a great thing :)
Oh... That Nightwing costume... Definitely the 80s...
i rob a bank - a photo is taken
i eat dinner - a photo is taken
i take a piss - a photo is taken
The funny thing is that starfires bikini at the begining is less revealing than her superheros costume
lol raven is like " I know a fake bitch when I see one"

My fav TT story, I’ve love the movie, seen it on the tv show, and now I got to see the comic. Yore a good narrator.
Amazing story. One of the best classics DC has.
THANK YOU!!!! I've been waiting for so long for you to uploadimg this.
I love the ridiculous Nightwing costume.
take out the huge collar and it really is a cool costume

Harold White Agreed, I really didn’t like it they put Damien in the movie, like what does the story have to do with him.
Teen Titans Go Forever
My kids love that show...
The fact that Terra was able to convince Dick (The First Robin mind you) that she can be trusted is impressive.
Amazing story! This video bought back memories :)

There's always a small, petty insignificant reason for someone to dislike a video.
probably bots
How many people think Dick/Nightwing can beat Deathstroke?
Angel Pena If Batman has said Dick is as capable as him in many regards, he should be able to take down Deathstroke. But I guess at the end it all comes down to what direction the plot needs to go
He can't in just a regular fight. Even he knows he can't win.
Me
He hasn't been able to. Even Batman usually gets stomped by Deathstroke
gustavmetal - I agree. It depends on the PLOT!
Nightwing and Deathstroke are loosely equals now. Heh, brings me back to my childhood when it was Robin and Slade.
I remember when it was loosely happening on the original TV series
i prefer the comic story over the movie version
I want the old intro back
