Tina knew, honestly I was like she was trying to tell you to follow her she was even looking back at times to make sure you was following her. Your very sweet to them and always doing your part to lend them a hand when needed. You are there knight in with shiny camera lens❤
Tina has always done that. As do all of the really low ranking monkeys that he follows do. They are intelligent. More so than a whole lot of people nowadays. Gypsy does the same thing anytime Mr AM has food for her. Teeny used to, but she is rather spoiled by the feeders now and doesn't have to worry about food 😂
I loved seeing that male helping Teeny out a couple of years ago - that video stuck with me! How nice to see him again. And Teensy is just sooo sweet. I hope she makes it through like Teeny did.
I also really liked how Tina got closer to Teeny when there was all that ruckus was going on around them, almost like she was also being protective of teeny
@@tjceleste23 Macaques nepotism behavior is common. Every female will defend their offspring, sibling or as a matter of fact, any clan (family) member. Agnostic support occurs through coalitions formed by grooming and defending members within the family and troop members. See below for an explanation regarding agnostic support. Moreover, troop members will defend any member from a foreign troop. Such is the way of the rhesus macaques. This explains why daughters are so important in a family. The more daughters in a clan, the more defense the clan has. Thus, Tina's behavior is absolutely normal. How lucky she is to have Teeny, someone to defend her in her elderly age. Trina might also be her daughter or her younger sister. Tina, Trina, Teeny, and now Teensy are a clan and will always stay together. Martha is lucky too. She now has sweet little Bubbles. Michelle might be her elder daughter of younger sister. We just don't know. Matha's clan is Michelle and Bubbles. Poor Dolly has had only boys (9) that we know of. Maybe Marty is her daughter, but AM thinks she might be Haggy's. Everyone is crossing their fingers that 1. Dolly conceived this year. 2. She finally has a daughter. Dolly is an amazing mom. She totally deserves a daughter to help her in her old age. Below are two examples of the term agnostic support used in context to explain rhesus macaques dominance behavior. 1. "The hierarchical relationships between individuals and between matrilines are ultimately determined by the mechanisms through which dominance rank is transmitted across generations. These transmission mechanisms are not genetic, but social, and involve agonistic support given by mothers to their offspring (e.g., Bernstein and Williams 1983; Bernstein and Ehardt 1986; Datta 1986). Natal males acquire ranks from their mothers just as females do. Mothers consistently intervene on behalf of their immature offspring when offspring get into fights with other group members. When pairs of juveniles fight, the mothers of both juveniles intervene to support their offspring, and the outcome of the fight is ultimately determined by the relative ranks of the mothers. Since this process is repeated many times and with different individuals, offspring eventually acquire a dominance rank just below that of their mother (Datta 1986). Although juveniles are initially lower ranking than all adults within the group, juveniles will challenge every adult that ranks lower than their mother. With their mother’s support, they will eventually outrank these individuals. 2. "Agonistic support between relatives is used not only to transfer dominance rank to juveniles but also to help females maintain their rank in adulthood. Agonistic support between nonrelatives is less frequent but plays an important role in social dynamics, particularly for males. Adult males rise in rank through the formation of coalitions with unrelated males or females (Datta 1986; Manson 1998; Higham and Maestripieri 2011). Furthermore, both adult males and females maintain and reinforce their status by intervening on behalf of unrelated individuals whenever these individuals attack males or females that are lower ranking than themselves. Agonistic support is solicited with scream vocalizations, particular facial expressions (raised eyebrows and eye movements), and body postures (tail raising and hindquarter presentation) (Gouzoules et al. 1984). Agonistic support is also obtained in exchange for grooming behavior, as grooming a higher-ranking individual for extended periods of time increases the probability of receiving tolerance and agonistic support from this individual (Schino 2007)." Hopefully reading the term agnostic support used in these sections of a rhesus macaque research paper helps to understand common macaque behavior.

@cinbob4633 you are welcome. We all get confused occasionally. I once mixed up Teeny and Tiny with Tinky and Trinky... totally different troops 4 totally different monkeys.
Thank you AM for giving Tina a hamper. She was leading you to a safer place to get it. Smart girl. Teensy is doing so much better, she doesn’t look as skinny.
Haven't seen an update on this baby from monkeys Inc in a month or more. In fact, Tina has been conspicuously absent in any of her videos, which are two months ahead of these. she has not been gaining weight, shows no muscle strength, I think she was predisposed like her sibling. her mother was unable to provide for her, kept her away from food, not a good combination. Its like anorexics, they get to a point that even if they eat, some still die as their bodies can't absorb the nutrients. I think we were seeing her at that point. I think she has passed away.😥
Everyone, Ickie is on lockdown again and not feeling well either, I think. She was going to take a nap and said to tell everyone, in case she didn't make it here in time. Hopefully, she will be here in a few.

Wait... At 12:30... How does this guy know Tina has less "nutrients in her milk" and therefore her offspring have to nurse longer per session? How could any human with a camera just know this? Something ain't quite right about what we are being told...
Simple deduction. Small for size, Tiny, Tibbin, Teeny and now Teensy, and I have seen there has been no denying of nursing on Tina's part so far and that Tiny and Teeny had all made it with a delayed growth spurt after they had got help from the feeders, the only logical conclusion would be that Tina's milk is either lacking or very nutrient-poor.
Her babies do not grow properly. Tibbon died. AM kept Teeny alive by feeding her beans and telling he designated feeders to make sure she got something to eat. One of the feeders went so far as to call her and feed her first and the other monkeys in Skullhead put up with it.Also, AM is a doctor and we and monkeys are primates and he has been following these monkeys since Stumpy's front arm was not healed from his hand being sliced off and I think that was in 2015. AM.knows of what he speaks of these monkeys. He does not follow every troop and does not follow every monkey in the troops he does follow. You better believe he knows the family, the health, the likes, and dislikes of every monkey he follows plus their ages snd he names them.😅
Mr Arroz is very knowledgeable in the lives of these primates, even the monkeys trust him and we HUMANS as well, please don't go there with Mr. A, he is much respected and to add Mr.A very instrumental in survival of Teeny when tiny and mom Tina were robbing her food pouches he talked with feeders so mom got extra and teeny got extra so when she was robbed was compensated
Tiny and Teeny were both born very small. Tina's recent babies were born rather large. A larger baby will need more milk than the smaller baby to succeed. Pre pandemic Tina was (and all the troop) getting small amounts of foodstuffs because there were fewer registered feeders and tourists with goodies. She used to be Skinny level of skinny. She would hardly come out of the trees when the feeders were dishing it out. During the pandemic more and more people came out to monkey hill. Often feeding the monkeys. And post pandemic many continued to come to the hill. Less food for mom means less milk she produces. Tina is getting a lot more calories these last few years and in looking far more healthy and robust. This is probably why her babies have been so much larger for the last few years. Some lower ranking moms will occasionally only feed their babies after they have eaten a filling amount. Since Tina has no problems allowing babies to nurse (even pre pandemic) AM has concluded that Tina is a low milk production mom.
@@ericvoltron I don't know but will check it out Mr.A said this male came to teeny rescue,I found it and see I made a comment on the page, I forgotten, thanks 👍 for pointing me in right direction
Teeny was Lost from her Troop I believe an that male helped her back to her Troop but then walked off so there would be no drama with Teenys alpha "troop leader" as he was a outsider looking to join there Troop..
No, AM believes Tiny and Teeny's father is Ethan. He is the male with the melted face. I think he is also the father to Teensy. Ethan is a survivor. This fight was probably passed on to Tiny, Teeny and hopefully Teensy. I believe this male has made friends with Teeny. The male is either called Liam or William. At one time MC called the male that rescued Teeny Liam then another time William. Nonetheless, these two males were in Dopey's boy band and are new to Skull Heads troop. To move up in ranking, males form coalitions with males and females by grooming and defending them. Teeny is one of the females that he has befriended and grooms. He has probably formed agnostic support with Teeny, thus in a fight they will protect each other. Mating has or will probably occur between these two too. Unfortunately, at the current time, no new member to the troop will elevate Teeny's ranking. If this male moves up in ranking, I assume Teeny will also benefit. He probably won Teeny over since the time he saved her. :)
@@Emzzz78 Teeny NEVER played with Booper when she was starving. Booper would try to babysit her when she was sadly trying so hard to forage for food. IMO Teeny liked Booper but was too hungry and weak to what I would call play until the day she wasn't starving. Seeing Teeny begin to play was absolutely adorable and emotional. The episode where the two girls were lost comes to mind. Booper comforting Teeny was precious. Booper with Buttercup is also adorable.
Tina's not such a bad mum once you give her a sweet potato snack (hamper), AM. However, can she find sufficient nutrients for her milk for Teensy? Time will tell. . . 🐵⏰⏰🐒🇬🇧
@@philbert006 Teensy should start eating solid food soon. Per MC her teeth are coming in. We see many babies chewing on whatever they can get their tiny hands on at this stage. How much they truly swallow, I have no idea. Keep in mind Teeny started foraging very early. She was starving so this might have driven her to eat solid food earlier than normal. The big question is, will Teensy have the energy to forage or has she become too weak.
Tina is doing what her insurance drive her to do. If she is lacking nutrition she will sacrifice that baby every time to ensure her chances of passing genes on in the future. She took from teeny and tiny because she was the lowest ranking monkey in a massive troop, possibly the largest in the world, and cannot complete for food like that. She likely will not struggle like that now, things have changed a whole lot in the last three years. Not would it matter, as by the time that baby is storing something in a pouch, it will be well able to care for itself, just like teeny and tiny, and survive even in spite of her stealing. Applying your set of morals and values to these animals is irrelevant. While you're certainly entitled to say whatever you please, that kind of thinking simply doesn't apply here.
@@philbert006thank you for speaking up. I hate it when these “fans” beat up on these moms without knowing anything about how the troops hierarchy works or how these moms work using instincts and survival skills. It’s wild to me.
That's a rather naive statement. The animal ki ngdom runs by its own rules. We cannot force our morality and values upon it. Animals basest instinct is survival. You forget that there have been cases of human mothers that have done worse to their children. There is no "bad" monkey mother. Just ones trying to survive. Are some mothers seemingly better than others? Yes, but none are bad. I think Tina is as good a mother as she can be.
At this time , it's time to remember that these animals are in fact wild monkeys and in no way human, they do as natural intended them to do, they do not need a dress or diaper of comforters, the real wild monkeys just need a troop, mom , and their siblings, not humans, the only animal that can really hurt these animals without guilt or common sense is a, " human."
I felt the way you do, Tiny was my introduction to Monkey Hill and the sight of Tina digging food out of her mouth incensed me to be end. Now that I’ve become an avid viewer, ask questions and respect the knowledge of longtime viewers I understand Tina is the best my her instincts lead her to be. I hope you understand now, there are several moms with what seems unkind parenting habits, but it is just their nature. I wish moms with milk would help out babies that don’t get enough. But they don’t understand that concept. Ameia seems to be an exception, taking Dario in and raising him with Brio.
Of the few terrible mums, Nora, Gypsy, Tina, Tina is the best as she truly tries, doesn’t hurt her babies, never abandons them, and always protects them. She has her issues, bad milk is not her fault.
@@pc3235 Tina definitely has a lactating issue. Through the years we have witnessed her babies nursing but not thriving. Tibbon and Tiy starved to death. Tiny and Teeny both were starving and had growth delays due to malnutrition. Moreover, both these offspring were never really interested in nursing. They spent most their time foraging. Tina was fed more than adequate amounts of food to ensure continued lactation especially during the pandemic, but Tiy still starved to death. Tiy became weaker and weaker. She never tried to forage and died at 8 weeks old. The same pattern happened with Tibbin. So, through years of observation it is apparent Tina has a lactation issue. Her milk production could be insufficient and/or she produces low quality milk. Meaning her milk lacks the necessary nutrient and fats to sustain life. There could be other issues that are the cause of her lactating issue, but there is no question about it. Tina definitely has a lactating issue. Teensy's only hope is to start foraging like Tiny and Teeny did. Of course, Tina other issue is she steals food from her babies' pouches. Fortunately, with the help from the feeders she might make it.
@@sonyabilledo4303 she is seen on video time and time again specifically taking steps to unlatch her infants from her nipples, so perhaps there is nothing wrong with the milk itself. maybe she doesn't want to nurse, or it hurts her, or whatever. i don't judge that because she is a wild animal but you can't ignore that she takes steps to unlatch her infants.
@@pc3235 There is NO question at this time, Tina has a lactating issue. Season after season viewers speculate what her issue is. AM has stated multiple times she has a lactating issue. I totally agree with him due to the data recorded through the years. As for Tina regulating nursing frequency. ALL female macaques do this and their babies still thrive. Having a baby nurse 24/7 is overwhelming and delays their motor development. Teensy might need to nurse more frequently, if in fact Tina can produce larger quantities of milk. Will Tina allow her to nurse as frequently as Teensy might need to? Doubt it. Tina will allow Teensy to nurse at a frequency similarly to other female macaques. Does Tina refuse to nurse the baby once it has become very weak and/or sickly. My guess is yes. This behavior is very common is all mammal species. It is not advantageous to expend energy on a weak and/or sickly baby. Keep in mind we only see a glimpse into Tina's life. It is hard to truly know how long each nursing session is and at what frequency Teensy is allowed to nurse. To date, Teensy has been filmed nursing almost constantly. I personally would like to see her more active. She needs to work on her motor skills so she can start foraging for food. It is possible she is too weak at time or is not as aggressive as she needs to be to survive. Time will tell.

I can't understand why u don't cover the conflicts in the troops so we can learn the reasons why these cute primates fights
Does anyone know who the other mum and baby are?
At 7:33 it is Tilly and baby Shelly I believe.
@@sonyabilledo4303 Sonia, you are amazing❣️Thanks
Teeny grew up pretty.
She really did. She looks almost happy all the time. Definitely a very pretty monkey!
Very pretty. She should have some beautiful babies. Hopefully she is more blessed with milk than her mother. Better and abundant.
It looks like Teeny might have a beau.😊
ive also neverseen any of tinas babys get off er to play either.seems like they have to struggle to get milk so they never play
Teeny played with booper quite a bit
Time will tell. . .
🐵⏰⏰🐒🇬🇧
idk, i thought tina was sucking the babies pouches for food???
That baby isn't going to have any food in any pouch for a couple of months at best.
Have you forgot about Tina digging food out of her babies mouths? She is a bad mom no good mom would take from there young!
Ameia seems to be an exception, taking Dario in and raising him with Brio.
first one again, Heyroo peeps
Of the few terrible mums, Nora, Gypsy, Tina, Tina is the best as she truly tries, doesn’t hurt her babies, never abandons them, and always protects them. She has her issues, bad milk is not her fault.
@ceciliagarcia2348 - how do you know she has bad milk? not even sure what that means. TY
