  • Today I will take a break from other projects to pop in some much needed annuals. Coleus is the name of the game. Journey with me as I add several coleus and begonias to areas begging for some color.

“Too many irons in the fire”, that’s the life of a passionate gardener. You are an amazing man and gardener so cut yourself some slack. Your garden of paradise speaks wonders of amazement, talent and serenity for the soul. Take this to heart, someone once told me …..and this was a very experienced Gardner talking of over 20 years….. speaking to me as a rookie years ago and they said “a gardener without projects is a gardener without vision”. A garden should never end.
Love your channel. Enjoy the holiday weekend and don’t work, relax and reflect.

That image @ 2:05 with that gorgeous tree just gave me all the feels! 😁🌺💕🌿 Just stunning. Those pots you've placed are super cool too. They look great even empty. Just architectural.
Love your garden, your creativity, your talent for color and texture, you're an artist at heart whether you know it or not 🙂 Thank you for braving the trolls that are out there.. it can't be easy.. South Florida zone 10b here. My gardening is so pathetic this year, the heat and no rain is just killing us. The front yard is flourishing with colorful annuals, vinca especially. But the back yard makes me want to cry! Its a pleasure to see some of you guys having great success! 👍 keep your videos coming. ❤

You have my enthusiasm about gardening! I wish we were neighbors! I live in Harvest AL, outside Huntsville and have been battling clay soil and unfortunately full HOT sun. Prior to moving here from the northeast I had lush shade gardens. It is definitely a different type of gardening; however if you were able to take a bare backyard and turn it into the Garden of Eden, then there is hope for me. Keep up the great work ❤

Gardening is calming, but hard work. So glad to see a new video. I enjoy yours so much. I'm in SC. Rain about every day. The garden is overgrown. I've got plants to get in the ground, but we've been working on the veggie garden. Built an arbor with gates, fenced it, painting garden boxes, and arbor between rain drops. I planted many mosquitoe repellant plants throughout. It seems to help. My husband bought a mosquitoe fogger also.

To add to my comment below, without begonias and coleus, I would not have nearly the color in my garden . I depend heavily on coleus and begonias. My garden is mostly shade and I have everything on drip due to the severe heat, rocky and shallow soil depth, and sporadic rain in central Texas. It is a very, very challenging area in which to garden......

Those slim trees are Taylor Junipers. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

It all looks beautiful! Did you plant the coleus under a Red Bud tree? I garden in zone 9b. Love your channel!

Thank you for watching. Yes, that is a redbud tree. This is also why I use a smaller bit. Do not want to get into the roots.

Earlier this year we bought a redbud stick from Aldi. As we're going down the aisle, a woman made fun of our stick. We put it in water on the deck for 2 months cause we were too busy with other projects to plant it. One day we noticed 3 tiny leaves emerging on that stick. We planted it and it's still alive. Hoping for color next spring.

What type of junipers are those at about 23-23:30 - the tall very narrow ones? The garden looks lush & beautiful, can’t wait for the project reveal!

Your yard is beautiful! Do you have to clean out your birdbaths regularly? And how do you do it?

We fill them with fresh water when we are out in the garden. We use little grill brush to clean them out about once a week. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

Hey there! I was the one who told you I’m from Illinois and my daughter lives near you and you said I could come for a tour. If you’re still willing to let us do that I’m not sure how I could get in touch with you to do that. If you’re no longer up for that it’s fine but if you are willing I would love to see your garden in person! Deanna
