this is so helpful, thankyou so much! we originaly get our license at san diego and we would love to get married here, do we need an appointment to have a ceremony or just show up with the license and be there at the location anytime? thankyou
I believe that you must get your marriage license from the Office of the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department. This is from the official website "Orange Marriage Ceremonies Update: Currently, civil marriage ceremonies are only being performed for couples who obtained their marriage license from the Office of the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department." Here is a link with all the info from the official site. ocrecorder.com/clerk-services/marriage-services/civil-marriage-ceremonies hope this helps. Let us know if you have more questions. Also, you do not need an appointment to have a ceremony they do take walk-ins, but the priority goes to the appointments first.
I found this link with some Saturday dates the courthouse is open www.ocrecorder.com/. The weekends will be very busy. If the historic courtroom is open to the public on a Saturday, you should be able to take photos in there. I would recommend getting there first thing in the morning especially if it is on one of the Saturdays they are open, also if you can make an appointment that would be highly recommended.
I don’t think they offer weekend ceremonies anymore. Before Covid they used to offer the third Saturday of every month for ceremonies, but I haven’t heard that has started up again.
Thank you for your question, yes you have to pre arrange your photographer. If you would like to schedule a call or text us for info link below christophertoddstudios.com/schedule-a-call/

Hi do they require a permit for the photographer & videographer?
The Old Orange County Courthouse does not require a permit for photography.
@@christophertoddstudios thank you so much for the response! Appreciate it!
Any advise on weekend ceremony? Like if the historic courtroom will be available for photos?

Do we have to book ahead for the photos or we can arrange that on the same day of the ceremony? Thank you!
