I'm incredibly excited for John's return but I dont understand why they wouldn't wanna try a new phase with Josh and John. Listen to josh and John's joint stuff and you may agree.
Because the band has always been a foursome and they've always worked that way, while josh did play for the chillis with john that was primarily for backing tracks during solos and adding extra guitar tracks john had recorded during stadium arcadium, they would probably be concerned that an extra guitarist would disrupt the chemistry of the band so you can't blame them
I wish they good do this, but it's hard to imagine that lead player for the past 10 years gonna become a regular stuff again and do kind of rhythm section again.. Josh needs to move further as a musician. That's the cruel reality.. :/
