Fantastic job, thanks for the shout out. I'm going to link to this for people wanting to see the teardown. BTW i think that 10% on that shut has something to do with all those settings, maybe the discharge floor.
Very well done video! Between the dfun and this power queen which would you recommend most? I’m planning on installing either along with a Renogy dc to do 30A charger for weekend camping trips with kids to power a fridge freezer. The solar panel I might use while vehicle is parked is a portable dokio 100w. Thanks in advance!
I didn't go with the mini because I plan on moving it around a lot and figured the extra cushioning on the sides might act as bumpers. Maybe I'm over thinking it but I have the space so I figured why not. The one I bought has low temperature protection.
I have 2 of the 1st generation Powerqueen Premium 12.8V 100ah batteries hooked in parallel. I'm building a Solar Power station in an older truck rv. I wonder if these pouch cells are different than the prismatic cells in the 1st generation.
I’m planning on a 2 battery install in my travel trailer with a 60 amp converter. I’m assuming a .3c charge rate won’t degrade the batteries very much.
I’m mounting the batteries and converter in the pass through to keep the #2 wire runs short. The original battery-to-converter cables will supply DC power to the fuse box. I still need to decide on a convenient location for the battery shutoff. Another issue is the hot lead from the 7 pin connector. It cannot charge lithium batteries so I will disconnect it or install a switch.
Good review. I wonder about the lifetime of pouch cells versus the Automotive Grade A prismatic cells that have been the "gold standard" and also if we will see higher capacity batteries (200AH, 300AH) using pouch cells soon
I bought a new 100 ah lithium battery and my Renogy 1000 inverter won't run the 600 watt electric Skillet I have. The old AGM Renogy was working fine but the lithium low voltage light keeps coming on and shutting off the inverter. The Skillet works on the 300 low setting. Do you know why this would happen?
@@Roll2Videos I will be using this to power a 12v fridge while camping. I will be using a single battery and charging with a 20 amp dc to dc charger most of the time.
whats the max amps you can charge this ? cant seem to find it on the specs... but ill be good at 20amps+ charging but just in case later if i upgrade maybe do 30/40+amps charging

If you discharge or charge a 100Ah battery at 1c, that would be 100A. A 100Ah battery discharged at a 5c would be a 500A draw. A 0.2c would be 100Ah x 0.2 = 20A. I would not recommend a high charge or discharge on these batteries. Do your best to keep below a 0.5c discharge to keep your batteries longer. 🍻

That's awesome 👍 I will take a closer look at the shunt. Thank you
The best review

Either one is a great battery, The dfun has a bluetoorh app which can be helpful

If treated properly, I'm sure both will last a very long time

No, you should be just fine.

Another great review. I much prefer one with low temperature protection, due to wild swings in the Midwestern US weather.

If I knew who manufactured them, I could look up a data sheet 🤔
So does the 100ah mini really have the same capacity as the group24 100ah?
@@dakotasexton1942 Yes, It sure does.
When you get these batters for testing do the manufactures reach out to you or you to them?
John, You're asking me to give away my secret sauce recipe.
Just curious. I will be purchasing one of those batters for my windmill project.@@Roll2Videos
@@johngrimley3523 I have been contacted, I've reached out and I've also purchased the batteries myself. It's a mix 😁👍

The old AGM Renogy was working fine but the lithium low voltage light keeps coming on and shutting off the inverter. The Skillet works on the 300 low setting. Do you know why this would happen?
I can't think of why that would happen. It's right around 50A. The battery should be able to handle that.
Ok.
Do you know why power queen isn't recommending their batteries for golf carts?
I don't; I'm sure they would work. It has enough surge for it. 🤔 strange
Do you prefer these to prismatic units? What are the pros and cons?
It depends on how fast I intend to charge. The only real difference is the charge rate.
@@Roll2Videos I will be using this to power a 12v fridge while camping. I will be using a single battery and charging with a 20 amp dc to dc charger most of the time.
@@ironwoodoverland That will work perfectly
@@Roll2Videos so for that use is there any benefit to choosing prismatic cells over pouch cells? Are the prismatic batteries more robust?
@@ironwoodoverland No, as long as they are in a sturdy case, they are protected.

Charging 20A. Not sure if there is a max charging, but id stick to 20A.
Does that shunt only work in Bluetooth range or can you be out of range via internet
It only has Bluetooth no wifi
Haha. Love the thumbnail.
😀 yeah, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to use it, I guess I'll find out
I don't hear it very often, but "look at the colors, eh?" 😁
Gotta LOVE Canadians ! ☺️
Can these batteries be used in series for a 48 volt golf cart?
Yes, they can be seriesed to a 48V
power queen says they aren't supposed to be used on carts. trying to find out why
How many can you connect in parallel?
I think the website says 4;

Oh noooo, that's not right. I guess at this point you could buy your own BMS and get it working yourself if that's the only option.
Could you explain what a C discharge rate is My batteries are 5C
If you discharge or charge a 100Ah battery at 1c, that would be 100A. A 100Ah battery discharged at a 5c would be a 500A draw. A 0.2c would be 100Ah x 0.2 = 20A.
