@Mikey Cooper I don't blame you. I miss the good old days when you could share media and no one would take you down for copyright infringement. Though I do understand why Metallica would be pissed that people shared their stuff for free.

@Mikey Cooper Napster basically ''stole'' musicians money by providing their music for free without their consent, which is what Spotify is the straight opposite of. Basically, supporting Napster is supporting crime. Lars got hate from the crime supporters but love and respect from anyone who knows what it's all about. Musicians doesn't earn their rightfully pay from pirated/free (without their consent) music

@@andrewgraham7659 I first off saw the short version of mission to Lars. That sealed the deal. When I had enough internet GBs to chew up I watched the full version of Mission to Lars. Its so worth watching.
I'm pretty sure the Spicer family didn't put the documentary in any format for retail selling. Bit of a shame, really. If they did do it then a small % of retail sales aid the funding for fragile X syndrome or conditions on the spectrum. Just some food for thought 😳

@@rosiewhitfield123 I live with aspergers, so I know the isolation and the frequent changes of mood. It is something my family doesn't understand. All of the organisations I know of that provide support to ASD people are volunteers. Maybe it could been marketed and the funds put into research. But I don't think that is what the family would have wanted. Maybe a festival of some sort could be arranged, since the metal scene in the UK is healthy, and the bands are frequently playing other festivals. There are so many ways that we can help. Maybe Metalica could be the first headline act.

@@andrewgraham7659 oh man you know a plenty about what I said and know about invisible conditions. I'm thinking you know what Metallica has a foundation called "All within My Hands (AWMH foundation) and if you contacted the foundation directly or through their management called Q Prime a benefit concert could became a reality. If you ain't wanting to I'd sure approach them and lay this idea at their laps, eyes and ears. I got nothing to lose at all. Be so worth the concept I believe.

You know I have to be honest I have never been much of a Lars guy. Love Metallica but never thought high of Lars as a drummer and honestly seemed like a douche... But u know I have no problem admitting I was wrong and misjudged his character. I thought that' was truly awesome man he spent time with the young man and actually kept asking him to do this and do that and genuinely enjoyed himself he did not shake toms hand take a picture and screw like many celebs do so just thought I would put that out there... Lars I apologize and that was an awesome thing u did wish more would follow ur lead. 30 mins spent with someone could literally change their life and remember it forever

Oh for absolute sure it took so so much courage from within Tom to meet Lars. Very high percentage of the population have almost zilch of a clue what Tom must go through in his life. I have an older sibling high on the spectrum. For most of my 40 years breathing I've sure had a second row seat into her life. Man they struggle pretty similar to someone with PTSD, ABI+an anxiety condition and individuals with a medium level of mental illness/health issues. It never hurts to be nice, every few days 💪💖

I can tap in to times when it wasn't so bad and can fake it for short periods of high intensity moments.
Tom truly triumphed. I swear he's standing taller and smiling wider during the end credits when he can appreciate that whole journey without the stress.
Cheers to all those challenging their adversity.

Boy that was a bumpy ride on the feels train, but to see Tom's utter joy at the end made the whole ride worth it! I think they all learned a lot as a family on this trip. Brilliant thinking visiting the Fragile X specialist...she gave them the key to opening Tom's inner box. Lars is a class act...many would have the urge to treat Tom like a child, but Lars did the perfectly right thing by treating him as just another fan. I have huge respect for this man.

I've been disable since i was born i found metal music when i was 9 years old... been to concerts the feeling you get meeting them etc its amazing. I can understand freaking out on things even going to concerts you gotta push your anextly back of your head and go for it. Also you should wear earplugs if your going to big concerts like that.

Everything about the way the ego melts away and reveals a genuinely good person is my favorite thing about this. Much love an respect to the way Lars is with him, it’s amazing.🙏 Much love to his sister as well and his baby brother, not many siblings would take on the challenge of getting Tom there. make no mistake the footage most likely doesn’t tell how hard that probably really was.

What an absolutely glorious depiction of the good in people, and the determination of love.
Oh, I'm _SO_ glad Tom surpassed his anxiety. I haven't cried happy tears like that in a ling time. Tom, you are a superfan with the strength of Superman - and a pretty good drummer, and a really cool brother.
Lars and all of Metallica are so good to their fans, but, "How long is a string?" is a perfect summary. Brilliant "humaning."
Thank you for filming this. Kate and William, you are both amazing. Such tenacity and loving-kindness.
Tom's smile and pride glowing at the end credits is priceless.
Hats off to Jane and the staff of Bystock.

My biggest question is why are they not personally raised Tom themselves!? Why is he in a care home? I don't even want to hear because he is Austistic or Fragile X...I have been raising my Autistic grandson since birth. No easy challenge for my age but it has been the most rewarding challenge of my life! He is beautiful, amazing, funny and the kindest and most loving personal I have ever had the honor to know and I am so proud he is mine! I love him more than words can express and would never, ever allow someone else the beauty of raising him! So very rewarding!

Because he is an adult.....pretty simple really...can't be babied all his life...he is slow in speech but not an invalid. Basically can do everything for himself within reason hence the care home, which provides all his needs including friendships and a workplace. In other words, he is LIVING life the same as all "normal" people, Tom's a winner I would think.

Two major heroes here. First big sister Kate - I'm sure this film didn't show everything you went through to make Tom's dream a reality, but it had to be an awful lot. Second, Lars Ulrich - Man, putting aside your drumming talents and rock-star cred, the way you greeted Tom, so natural and easy, it was a beautiful thing and it made me cry.

Oh Lars, you are so great. And something I love about this is that Tom is proof of my belief that it does not matter what struggles you have in life, we can all connect through the beauty of life that is music. It's a healing thing, in so many ways.

i know Tom and the band have a lot to thank for this but dont forget about the people that actually make it happen. Kudos to his sister and younger brother. This couldnt have been easy by any means and the look on her face at the edge of the stage was the most satisfying thing for me in the whole video.

Can I just say this ... You guys are the best siblings who ever lived. I hope you see this. You restore my belief in family and all of that. Pure, no-bullshit love. Moved me at my core. Should all of the human species be as good and decent as you, we'd all be okay. You are truly wonderful people. Respect and love, Jerry.

Amazing doc. I've loved Metallica since I was ten years old and to see Tom's face when he met Lars made me cry. Then he meets Kerry king another huge idol of mine. The bit that set me Me off was when he met the rest of the band 😭😭😭😭
