Most anime are split into arcs (usually action anime’s) where there are a set number of episodes/chapters that focus on one setting, character, or plot point. For example episodes 1-5 were the final selection arc and 8-10 were the Asakusa arc. Some arcs in anime can even go up to over 50 episodes long it just depends on how much the creators want to flesh out the ideas in the arc.
Not exactly true. it's entirely depends on the people that are incharge of the adaptation. There are multiple reasons why they did it and different methods on how they did it, especially how the anime industry changed. Most of anime that have a large amount of episodes for one arc aren't seasonal anime releases like Demon Slayer, which is limited to only 12-13 eps or 24 eps then they take a long break until the series either got another season, canceled, or no studio wants to take it. Those anime usually have that many eps for one arc so they won't catch up with the source material that's still running until it's appropriated. They usually do this by adding fillers or making the pacing slower than it should have been. Some reason anime aren't fortune to have that treatment as the people who's in charge choose terrible method instead. For example: skip multiple arcs and go straight to the end of series, terrible pacing at the very start of anime, write a completely different story,... The worst part is that the author of the source material doesn't get to say anything about the production. The director of the anime can remove any part they don't like if they wanted or add anything they liked if they wanted to.
The thing was, Kyogai (the demon with drums) used to be a Kizuki, but Muzan considered him to be too weak I know it did seem like he was impossible to finish. But Muzan’a perspective is far different

They love to stall out the end of the episodes so they can leave it off on a cliffhanger lol

Good evening to you all
cliffhangers..

Your pausing to talk is appreciated, but for an action-based anime, you pause at the worst times😭
