IPS Probationers of 2017 batch share their training experiences with President Kovind

A group of probationers of the 70 RR (2017 batch) of the Indian Police Service called on the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, on October 12, 2018 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Addressing the probationers, the President said that being an IPS officer, they have an enormous responsibility on their shoulders. The Indian Police Service is one of the pillars of our national administrative system. It is also a service that defines the trust of common citizens in our police forces. Citizens see IPS officers as officers who will uphold the rule of law and enable delivery of justice.
The President said that in many ways the police represents and symbolises the quality of the state itself. For a common citizen, the impression of the state and governance is formed by interactions with and impressions of the traffic constable at the signal, the beat officer on neighbourhood patrol and the reception desk officer in a police station. We must do everything required to make basic policing better and that is the hallmark of a sensitive and professional police force. This would help us build an environment where citizens fear and respect the law - rather than fear the law enforcer.

हम सभी जानते हैं कि किस प्रकार आंग्ल भाषा को जानने के बाद हमारे महान क्रांतिकारी(सुभाष चन्द्र बोस, भगत सिंह इत्यादि) व नेताओं(सुभाष चन्द्र बोस, गांधी, नेहरू, गोपाल कृष्ण गोखले, वल्ल्भ भाई पटेल, लाला लाजपत राय इत्यादि) ने यूरोपीय स्वतन्त्रता क्रांतियों के सम्बंध में जाना व उससे प्रेरणा भी प्राप्त की।
यद्यपि अभी मुझे आंग्ल भाषा नहीं आती तथापि मैं इसे भी सीखूंगा। मुझे इस बात का अफ़सोस नहीं कि मुझे यह नहीं आती परन्तु इसमें गर्व करने की कोई महानता भी मैं नहीं देखता और स्वयं की आँखों में धूल झोंकने से बच जाता हूँ।
मैं भी अपने स्वतंत्रता के अग्रदूतों व अपने वैदिक ऋषियों की परंपरा पर चलते हुए ज्ञानार्जन करूँगा और अपने अज्ञान व कुछ भी नया न सीख पाने की हीनता को गर्व का नाम कदापि नहीं दूंगा।
