    Filming and editing this was an incredibly enjoyable experience. To provide some background, I typically upgrade my PC every 7-8 years, and when I do, I tend to opt for higher-end components that remain competitive with newer chips for a longer time. My last PC upgrade was in 2016, during which I was using a Quad Core i7-4770k / GTX 770 setup. It was an excellent system that served me well and played a crucial role in getting me to where I am today. However, it was beginning to struggle, signalling the need for an upgrade.
    The PC market has made significant progress since my last upgrade, especially in the realm of compact builds. When I first laid eyes on the MasterBox NR200P MAX mini ITX case, I knew it was the perfect choice for me. Previously, my PC resided in a monstrous Fractal Design R4 case. I had been contemplating downsizing my system for a while, and this was the opportune moment to do so.
    The NR200P MAX currently comes only in grey, but I had my heart set on a white system. Consequently, I ended up purchasing two cases: the standard NR200 in White and the NR200P MAX in grey. Thanks to an incredible design by @coolermasteronline, the panels are all interchangeable, allowing me to create a truly unique-looking NR200P MAX in White. It showcases a captivating blend of monochrome colors derived from the two different cases. I repurposed the second case to house my old system, which now operates flawlessly in my workshop for CAD and CNC tasks.
    In addition, I had always harbored a desire to document the entire process, but back then, I lacked confidence in front of the camera or recording anything. However, this time, I made a firm decision to create an entertaining video that I can revisit in another 5-10 years, when this system becomes obsolete. It would be a nostalgic memento to cherish, capturing the excitement and joy of building and upgrading my PC. I now use this new system for video editing, gaming and training deep neural networks. The performance is incredible and the cooling is outstanding for such as small case.

    This inspires me. I'm in the building process of a similar PC. Nearly the same motherboard. I like the way you can open this case from every side as the motherboard I chose have m.2 slots under it. This is why I would like it. You've used the screwdriver 36 times.

    For those interested, all components for this build have been provided in the video description. A lot of people have also been asking about temperatures, so heres my experience so far:
    The 13900k runs hot in any system, damn thing is running at nearly 6GHz which is crazy. I also have the 3090 in there which gets to around 70-80C while gaming.
    With Turbo Boost (5.8GHz), temps peak at 95-100C with the Multicore Cinebench Test. (Yes, it throttles between 3.2GHz and 5.6GHz)
    With Turbo Boost (5.8GHz), temps peak at 60-70C while gaming.
    With Turbo Boost (5.8GHz), temps peak at 35-40C with casual PC use.
    With Turbo Boost Off (3.2GHz): Never peaks above 60C in any scenario.
    I am yet to experiment with undervolting, but I am well aware that this has great benefits on these 13th Gen chips, even improving performance with lower temperatures. If I experiment with this, I will make a dedicated video about it.

    • @djktana
      @djktana Рік тому

      I exactly have the same question

    • @rtorbs
      @rtorbs Рік тому

      Depends what you're after.....no one builds a SFF build with top tier high heat output components and expects it to be cool....the tradeoff is, you dont have a behemoth case at the expense of it running hotter than a mid tower atx with a 380/420 AIO. Undervolting absolutely helps, as does a a contact frame and then i found that contrary to standard airflow set ups, exhaust through bottom of rig not through top, pulling external air into rig through the rad keeping the cpu as cool as possible.....if you exhaust top, youre stifling the rad with the internal hot air which in turn raises the cpu temp

    • @thehardwareguy
      @thehardwareguy  Рік тому +3

      thank you! I've set mine up as intake to help cool the GPU. In turn, this also helps cool the air that is drawn through the radiator and exhausted out at the top of the case.

  • @mojito6629
    @mojito6629 Рік тому

    @thehardwareguy
    2 questions;
    -Instead of buying 2, why don't you just buy a white NR200 and the AIO and PSU?
    -Instead of DDR4, why don't you use DDR5 RAM & Motherboard?

    • @thehardwareguy
      @thehardwareguy  Рік тому +1

      The NR200 is slightly different internally to the NR200P. The full size radiator wouldn't fit at the top, it would have to go at the bottom.
      I chose to stick with DDR4 because I already had DDR4 RAM and this motherboard was cheaper. The board I have supports Gen5 PCIE and the i9 is compatible with DDR4 and DDR5, so when the time comes I will upgrade the board and RAM at a lower cost. Personally I see no real world performance gain in DDR5, and it wasn't worth an extra £500 (board included)
