nah, this shit is far worse than shinra tensei. at least you can block shinra and its one and done. that spell not just smash you into a wall, it keps pushing till you turn into red paint on that wall. remeber EP 20, when Frieren captured the bird, Denken said "not even the most skilled mage can supress mana in the moment of casting the spell". well, he was wrong, Frieren proven once again she called "the last great mage" for a reason. Fern couldn't detect that spell in the moment of cast, which means if you don't have some barrier on you already, you can't defend against that spell. and later Fern said she doesn't even recognize this this as magic, which means you can protect yourself against it even after it hits you. this spell is something similar to curse, mages can't detect it too, but unlike curses, it doesn't make you sleep or turn into a stone, it just smash you and keep pressing. tbh, if you turn back in this moment and look for all battles Frieren was into(and one more not exactly the battle in last episodes), this spell alone could finish any of those battles.

well, it mostly chill. we had like how many battles? Qual in EP 3, Dragon EP 6, Frieren vs Draht wasn't realy a fight, that guy just suicided... Stark and Fern vs Lugner and Linnie, Frieren vs Aura was more like mind battle, flower in EP 15, Kraft vs bandits is not a fight he just slap some kids. and some fights in exam arc. Fern team vs Wirbel team, Lawaine and Kanne vs Righter, Freiren vs Denken, Wirbel team vs clones, Ubel vs clone, Frieren and Fern vs clone and others vs clones. no that much, considering some of them were really short or didn't have high tension(like Frieren vs Denken, is there even a single person who thought Denken could win? same with that he will 100% survive. or when they saw Dark Souls boss, did anyone realy think Denken team gonna fight her? we knew they fucked, but we knew they can run away aswell.).
First comment :) been waiting for you to reach these episodes ever since you started watching Frieren anime such an epic story and fight between Frieren & fern with Frieren's clone, Its also worth noting if you didn't pick up on it that when Frieren said its been 80 years since she last used that spell that slammed Fern into the wall that would mean the last time she used it was on the Demon King fight with Himmel's party.
That last look was basically "Playtime is over, time to tuck you in". Probably the last thing the demon king saw before she punched his card. No wonder Himmel carried her torch, Frieren is a real baddie when she isn't busy getting slobbered by a mimic chest.

Loved Serie's flashback, main reason is that she tells Frieren that elves might even delay a decision for a thousand years, and here we are, a thousand years later, she decided to become the head of the continental magic association, thus granting Flamme's wish to look over humanity's magical progress.
Also insane how Serie talks about the dawn of human civilization as something she witnessed firsthand, this, combined to the fact that a thousand years is a short time for her, puts her in the 10-15k years old in my opinion. No wonder she knows every spell in history and is basically a goddess.
To be fair, she told Fern that basic spells should be enough against the mages of that era. Frieren wasn't fighting regular mages, she was fighting a mirror copy of the last Great Mage.
@@AndragonLea true true, that sentence kinda made me laugh too, Frieren lowkey saying 99.9% of mages nowaday are garbage that cannot deal with Zoltraak, and given her personality, that's her real assessment. Guess there are a couple of outliners (mainly Lernen i'd say), but yeah... that line hit hard, thank god all those young mages didn't hear it (aside Ehre).
@@luigimanzelli3786 I mean, it DID work for most of a competition for position of First Mage, which supposedly attracts most of the top talents.
@@AndragonLea yeah, that was my point, the unfortunate thing for modern mages is that Frieren is not flexing, she is just assessing that modern mages are just worse, which is understandable since we are in a more peaceful era, but still... at least we know that Serie will always search talented mages and personally teach the worthy ones, not all hope is lost for mages :D
@@luigimanzelli3786 Yeah, it makes sense. The demon war period was pretty brutal, survival of the fittest type stuff.
Serie secretly loved flamme so much, but doesnt know how to show it. she's basically frieren, but before himmel died. except she still didnt learn how precious life is, not matter how short compared to hers.
basically, Serie is a tsundere xD
The last attack of frieren clone felt like that whole visualisation thing, to apply one's will on reality. That look she had though... damn.
