Hello everyone, didn't expect this video to get so much positivity, thank you for the kind comments! On the first day I posted it, it was stuck on 11 views. Even after I woke up, it was still stuck, it was a big weight on my mood because I spent a long time working on the video. But then boom, throughout the day and the coming days it has reached over 1k views! As I'm writing this, it's at 4.3k. We even hit 100 subscribers! Those are big numbers to me! Thank you! I'll be uploading more Minecraft mod related content in the future, hopefully by this week! (Spoilers: well that didn't happen)
Yup, for this video I was using Cliff Under A Tree (datapack/mod) which made little difference in loading time while still spicing up the terrain quite well.
First video?! Damn son, you've got talent. This was really well put together. The subtitles, the background gasp when you mention other dimensions, the gestures of your avatar, all really nicely done without being excessive. Have another sub, you've earned it!
Very high quality for a first video and the VR movement is a creative idea. I'm not going to comment on Clockwork's problems or DH's, but Trackworks has the problem of the vehicles not being very useful in survival, the reason being that they are often tiny compared to Minecraft's mountainous and not-flat terrain which means you can't really use them outside player-made roads.
@@vera2193 You might have forgotten about rivers, but if you know some flatter world generation mods that don't make drastic changes to other things, i would like to know them!
This is kind of an issue with any ground vehicle mod to be honest, since either they solve it by instantly snapping up the block or having realistic physics and not being able to climb it, neither of them handle going up what is essentially a staircase with 1 meter steps (the average hill in Minecraft) any more gracefully than the other. I am pretty sure there are a couple recent terrain gen mods (like Big Globe) that make the terrain realistic, resulting in very very large open hills where the elevation change is very mild. The downside is that traversing them takes way longer, and you can barely see anything even with max render distance, but hey, both of these are solved by using Trackwork and DH.
Dang, I didn't even notice that this was your only video. Quality is very nice for a first video. Mine was literally just an upload test of my minecraft gameplay(it wasn't even screen recorded)
The reason why this isn't very popular is because these mods are very unstable and glitchy. Also, clockwork and valkerien skies devs rush development and don't take any consideration for compatibility with other mods. Not to mention, they are rude and take bug reports/mod incompatibility reports as insults. :/
@@visiblydisturbed1688 A stark contrast to the create Areonaurics discord. It's a shame really that VS, a really awesome mod's greatest weakness is the immaturity, incompetence, and unprofessionalism of its own creators. I hope Areonaurics lives up to it's potential with how long it has been in development.
the simple reason they haven't been combined is due to clockwork issues, like you said. I personally think this is why we haven't seen anything from aeronautics but the radio silence in there discord and lack of git movement does have me worried about that one. Time to make my own game engine with airships and lods!
Yeah, right now both the progress of Valkyrien Skies' and Clockwork's next major update and Aeronautics' release has no confirmed timeframe, so I guess all we can do is wait and see which one comes first.
First of all i'd like to say very good quality for a first video your doing great! Secondly, I was glad to see other people having the same idea of combining major tech/item mods (such as Create) with big quality of life mods (like Distant horizons). There are the obvious reasons with compatibility issues and the fact that Minecraft modding is always very jank when it comes to it actually functioning but It's come very far and It'll definitely improve as time goes on. I'm actually working on a modpack for a video and will plan to make it a multiplayer war using Vehicles.
Thanks! I also want to take this higher, much like the tank tussle and other communities that already use valkyrien skies for war roleplay. Maybe in the future when I can gather enough players for a "100 players do xyz" type video. Since DH is getting proper multiplayer support anyways.
4:15 I've played with it before, and found wanderlite to actually be extremely common in my experience, I'd gotten half a stack before I was even considering actually making anything in the modpack I had yet, and I'd been ignoring a lotta wanderlite I came across because I just didnt really see myself needing much, and well, it was pretty common anyway in my experience so I just thought eh I'll just mine some more if I need more.
Well maybe you are a better miner than I am. I usually only go caving and I never found it exposed on a cave wall, only inside stone. I guess making a big mining rig with create could solve that issue though.
Problem with Distant Horizon chunks is that your airship will still freeze when you hit the border between normal chunks and DH chunks. That's probably why you lost control of the planes, because you kept getting stuck at chunk boundaries.
The freezing problem I had was at the build height limit. Supposedly this is fixed on new versions (github only) and by increasing the LoD in the valkyrien skies config.
I think this combo for create is also how those tanks I keep seeing are made too. Edit: yep he covered the tanks, yeah distant horizons would be neat for tank battles with realistic engagement distances.
Pretty good first video!!! I personally don't wanna invest time in a world with Clockwork because of how unstable it is, I am honestly just waiting for Aeronautics to release (PLEASE PLEA S I CANT WAIT FOR ANOTHER 3 YEARS) to have a proper experience, though I played with it in Creative. It also might look a little scary to people who have never played modded or create mod before despite how its actually easier than most people think. also a lot of people just don't have the computer specs to play with such mods (more specifically with playable FPS)
Hi, I've been trying to make a server with a concept similar to this, but instead I'm using Eureka Ships (and a terrain generation mod). I think it is a much better alternative as it's more stable than clockwork (I think) and mainly because you could build your house onto the ship you make more easily and have a sailing / flying house, therefore with the best exploration combo I can imagine. I'm having troubles with getting an Oracle instance, which is the only free way to do this I can come up with but there aren't any servers available in my region. Still, I think it's a great combo so just to encourage you all to try it as well.
There are also other addons to valkyrien skies like tournament which fulfills the more modern aviation needs like thursters and stuff, instead of the blimp type airships of eureka. As for servers, I'm not sure but I hope you figure it out!
If clockwork and valkerian skys mod developers actually even TRIED TO FIX THIER MODS it would be better than not doing it. With their popularity they could absolutely just find a professional coder among thier fans
They do work on it, you can look at their github page and see that there is active development. ( github.com/ValkyrienSkies/Valkyrien-Skies-2 ) To get a working .jar file though you have to download the source code and compile it yourself. And I get it, that's kind of a bother when they could just publish it under releases on github instead.
As someone who is currently developing an addon to Valkrien Skies, and so has had to look through a lot of GitHubs, I would like to inform you that Valkyrian skies and clockwork are both currently undergoing some massive updates behind the scenes. It may not seem like it from the outside, but trust me, improvements are coming and the devs do care. (And they are professional coders, trust me, the stuff they manage to do so far is crazy hard). Also a lot of current problems with clockwork are already fixed, just not released, as they need to wait till the rest of their update is finished before they can release it all.
Yep, as mentioned in the video you need to get a version of valkyrien skies from githu (or look around in the discord). The version currently on sites like modrinth and curseforge are very old and have this issue when used with clockwork.
Not missing, just waiting for Aeronautics and just preparing the rest of the modpack with bigger, deeper oceans and large sprawling landscapes. Maybe even some way to make the overworld less inhabitable so you need to use Aero vehicles to survive until you have enough for a safe base.
You can technically do most of the things Aero promises if you combine a bunch of the Valkyrien Skies addons. But I hope Aeronautics delivers and blows everything out of the water after all this waiting!

There are some strange limitations with clockwork currently but its a lot of fun. Combining it with eureka - valk skies is a win win but it has some small issues. If you setup an air balloon based ship using eureka, it will interfere with the movement and propulsion of clockwork however you can do some tricks to at least power it forward at crazy speeds. Then when you take over with eureka on the ship helm, it will stop instantly. You have to align the ship to switch between the two currently. I use distant horizons and the combination has been great. You need a lot of optimization mods. All of them. Sodium and Iris are important along with a handful of mods that all help with fps. If you use a shader, you will want to try a few out. Try the lowest settings and then manually add options until you find the right balance of look and performance. I never thought we would have any of this in minecraft but here we are. Great time to get back into it
One issue with DH for forge is it doesn't work with replay mod reforged. I planned on using it for a battleship video, but the version available then didn't work with replay mod. I think they fixed this with their newest release of DH, would be nice to see more ppl use it.
I actually tried it over a month ago and it did work! It's just pretty janky. Even on fabric it's pretty janky. You have to go to the beginning of the replay and replace your files manually, and it's kinda hit or miss if that works, same thing with the forge versions. I ended up not using replaymod (or the reforged fork) because ultimately i wanted a shot of standing on the moving plane and in the replay it ended up looking like I was floating behind the plane because of network lag I guess.
omgg whatttt??? I just watched to the end when you were like "oh this is my first video btw" and then I looked at the sub count and I couldn't believe it! Great video man
I must say i love Clockwork, but it doesn't (at least for me) compare to Eureka only due to the fact that clockwork's stuff is so hard to get in survival Minecraft. And Eureka's contraptions don't glitch -65 block under the ground every time you try and land them.
The reason why they do not use distant horizons is because their computer will literally turn into a hydrogen bomb. (What I’m trying to say is their computer will crash.)
Yep! Since then I learned how to make ships properly, even won the Valkyrien Pirates ship contest! (Check it in the Valkskies discord, its a new addon that adds NPC pirate ships with Eureka) (I made The Phantom Leviathan)
It's quite simple why nobody uses this mod combo: Valk. Skies, the mod used for clockwork, is increadibly unstable, laggy and causes memory leaks to the point where it can become unplayable- this isn't even mentioning the fact it doesnt play nice with other mods
i tried this before personally, but i found an issue with the valkerien ships and distant horizons' "fake chunks". in my game the ships for some reason dont unload and stay visible but due to that you can see the ships through the distant horizons chunks which takes away the immersion. i also tried using distant horizons with the witherstorm mod but the same thing happened and you could see the witherstorm through the terrain, i guess this might be why most people arent using Clockwork(or vs2) with distant horizons but i could also be the only one who faces the "ships visible through DH terrain" bug
Yeah, even with my rtx 4080 it was laggy. Honestly if you get some cool resource packs and new mods like Simple Clouds you can avoid using shaders and go for a more vanilla look. The only problem is DH then, which you can just leave overnight to pregenerate.
I have actually made a mod pack using create, eureka, and vallerian skies buuut loading new areas are still a pain even with my slow air ship lol I think I'll try again cause I've been looking hard for more optimization mods, one of which is a mod that uses prediction to load chunks it expects you to wander in to so if i go in one line it should help
Dang, im trying to play a create modpack that I've strapped Clockwork to in survival, and so far it works, but i fear that if i tried to add Distant Horizons on top of that my 6 years old 8gb ram laptop is gonna explode.
As long as you pre-generate it (for like a day or so) and then turn generation off, set performance to the lowest it should be good. If it's still lagging then set the DH render distance lower.
hi i loved the vid... im having trouble with the create mod and clock work, create mod works fine but every time i click on the clockwork tab my game crashes plz help...
Were there any problems getting it all to work together? As far as I know, Indium is a stumbling block in terms of working with Create and its add-ons.
Right now Valkyrien Skies is not very stable on 1.20.1, you can get a fixed jar for it if you look around in the discord, sadly it's only for forge. There should be an update coming with a bunch of bugfixes soon though. Clockwork itself is also getting a major update called Melting Point, so right now all we can do is just wait (Or download the tank tussle modpack which uses heavily modified versions of everything).
Nice video I'd like to point out that to generate chunks multithreaded, DH compromises on the exact accuracy, so those progenerated chunks are not actually part of your 'real' world Then when you fly those chunks have to actually generate. But if you were to fly to travel form A to B instead of exploring, this SHOULD behave better with less stutters.
Its not like nobody didnt make video or was using it. People were doing it by themself in custom modpack but a lot of people doesnt combine these mods because of lags and fast renedering terrain when you fly a jet in minecraft. Anyway thanks thanks for reminder about this mod but i wont use it bcs im playing on my 7yo laptop. Maybe on low setting and after mod optimization i will use it for some cinematic shots
Yep, I recommend using C4ME which is originally for fabric but also has a forge fork, speeds up rendering quite a lot. And then also not using any custom terrain generation mods like Terralith or anything like that. But yeah even on my rtx 4080 it was pretty laggy with shaders.
I use Figura, it requires a bit of expertise because you have to make your own models and everything but it's completely free and has a discord community with public assets. The wing is just a freely available wing I retextured and modified.
one reason why they are not used together is the lag with distant horizon and distant horizon barely works for servers and there are better alternatives
I custom modified Vivecraft (VR mod) to do this. In those sections where you can see my arms moving I am in VR and recording in 3rd person. I plan to do more VR specific content in the future, probably as soon as Halloween.
@@Extingale Oh, that's a nice use of Vivecraft. I might try that myself in the future. VR really isn't used that much. The style you are going for definitely has potential!
Look very nice. I had same thought as in video. So its about 3 months im doing my own server and modpack, that include Distant Horizons, ReTerraforged and Aeronautics. I have pretty a lot work done. So it would be amazing. Only im not sure how much players server could handle. What do you think about making 2 servers for RU and for EN people?
because clockwork is pretty buggy, and development on it and vs2 is super rushed this is why Create Simulated has been taking longer - they're actually fixing bugs and making the engine the best it can be before releasing, rather than releasing an unfinished product

Clockwork itself is also getting a major update called Melting Point, so right now all we can do is just wait (Or download the tank tussle modpack which uses heavily modified versions of everything).
Yeah 1.18.2 versions are far more stable, but that doesn't mean they can't be laggy
I dont know if the Simple Clouds mod is compatible with shaders or distant horizons, but it would be awesome to add it to this list!
great video im really excited for the next ones
Pls post more bro love ur vids
Been waiting for Create Aeronautics instead to do this.
Nice video
I'd like to point out that to generate chunks multithreaded, DH compromises on the exact accuracy, so those progenerated chunks are not actually part of your 'real' world
Then when you fly those chunks have to actually generate.
But if you were to fly to travel form A to B instead of exploring, this SHOULD behave better with less stutters.
1:50 What lets you move the arms like that?
Vr
i did it some months ago but both mods are so experimental, is hard to play without lag issues or bugs
But yeah even on my rtx 4080 it was pretty laggy with shaders.
my pc would explode
My guy, 74 subs? What the HEEEELLL did these people do to get u this low!?
yooo, insane 🔥
I use these mods with distant horizons
The plane that you made looks realy nice. Would you mind sharing the schem?
I completely forgot this existed thanks for this video. Just one question tho, how do you get those wings on your avatar
I use Figura, it requires a bit of expertise because you have to make your own models and everything but it's completely free and has a discord community with public assets. The wing is just a freely available wing I retextured and modified.
So, we have Plane Crazy in minecraft now? (except a bigger map)
I used to do call to battle 2 and mcheli mod combo it is really good
Nice start, consider joining our Tank Tussle community as u mentioned half way the video
one reason why they are not used together is the lag with distant horizon and distant horizon barely works for servers and there are better alternatives
Was expecting to see certain towers every second of this video, but other than that the video is pretty good!
I tried using distant horizon, though I had to pick between that and oculus as they were incompatible.
Hi, Remember me when you hit a million subs♥️
Nice Video
I really like the editing! :3
Btw how did you make your player arms move like that? Not sure if I saw that before
I custom modified Vivecraft (VR mod) to do this.
@@Extingale is there any way to get that edit of vivecraft? i don't like how actual vivecraft seperates the shoulders and hands at all
I'd use Valkyrien Skies if it wasn't unstable and crashing with anything
I believe Thr1te has done this / something similar in one of his videos
Look very nice. I had same thought as in video. So its about 3 months im doing my own server and modpack, that include Distant Horizons, ReTerraforged and Aeronautics. I have pretty a lot work done. So it would be amazing. Only im not sure how much players server could handle. What do you think about making 2 servers for RU and for EN people?
I’m waiting for someone to build the mcsm season 2 prismarine giant
i love that u used vr
clockwork is annoyingly buggy and im not smart enough for it lmao so ive been waiting for aero
5:30 just change it in config file named vs_core_server
Yoo that's huge if it works! I found out since then that it also fixes the height limit freezing issue.
"Driving a plane" 😭
yoo! it's another based af aspiring content creator!
Hey, which mod do you use for those movements in the intro
Main reason optimalization on server
i just stubbled onto this channel but does he use vr for the intros?
Nice
Tanktussle doesn't like working with client side mods in general, let alone distant horizons. Would be cool though.
That’s it, when are we getting flight sim (i didn’t steal the idea from you, trust)
because clockwork is pretty buggy, and development on it and vs2 is super rushed
this is why Create Simulated has been taking longer - they're actually fixing bugs and making the engine the best it can be before releasing, rather than releasing an unfinished product
