'Passing out parade' is the traditional British expression which i imagine chimes with the uniform, drill style etc - graduation ceremony is an Americanism in terms of uniformed services

Calling someone a liar for something where one can find numerous examples of such usage on the internet is not appropriate. Defense btw is an American spelling of the word defence.
