      @@theascendunt9960 As an outisider, still loyal to the British Crown. Series 5 hit the spot as a metaphor or warped reality to the trained eye of a greater imagery of the MAGA/Right Wing Libertarian Conservatism & its opposing force "the deep state." It showed, the sheer brutality of banking & the financial system on normal people & how the rich elites exploit loopholes to destroy those crippled by student/medical/mortgage debt if they are simply not earning enough to make ends meet. A beautiful side plot was revolving around the female police officer. She has a "manchild" husband who has a childhood dream to become a golfer because he does not work he rakes up enormous credit card debt through purchasing expensive golf clubs & other 'manchild' hobbies. He blames his lack of talent on the golf clubs. His wife has to work overtime to fund his "Peter Pan Syndrome" just to keep the vultures from attaching their assets. He then blames his wife for being unsupportive & sherking her duties of a wife because she has to work overtime & uses it as an excuse to neglect him.
      The mother-in-law of the protagonist is a banker baron of the Midwest. She is ruthless & like all those of her class contribute large funds to fund/donate to various public/political institutions in order to "capture" said individuals representing these instutions in order to gain favour over or even control legislation, governor & the president, the judiciary, the police force/national army/medical system/educational institutions etc.
      Moreover, she intimidates smaller players by destroying their lives if they refuse a hostile takeover. Then concerning the policer officer, she requests credit records/bank statements of the police officer's debts who then has her car repo'ed. Then, she offers the police officer a job as head of security for her with an offer of well over a 6 figure salary probably of $200k+ is what senior management earn. After the officer catches her husband cheating, "red-handed" she decides to accept the job.
      All in all, perhaps there are many "weak scenes" as you correctly mention if corrected would have made it even more enthralling.

    For Fargo, the accent is said to be 'Fargo Minnesota nice'.
    It's very appealing and idiosyncratic of the movie and TV series; can be unfriendly but unerringly polite!
    Apparently, Fargo residents don't talk like that, unless anyone from Fargo can say different?

    • @ItsJosiahKopp
      @ItsJosiahKopp 8 місяців тому +3

      Fargo resident here-Yeah no one here actually talks like that. We sound pretty much the same as any other midwestern region. For people who aren’t from here, the Fargo series accents might be cool to hear, but for us residents of the Red River Valley, it rubs us the wrong way because it’s not an accurate representation of how people here actually talk. Still love the series though!

    Jon Hamm finally does a role that saves his career. He can't do light situational comedy or even a victim of circumstance characters.

    I am from Australia, and in 2022, my wife and I had a road trip across the US from LA to NY via Canada. Heading east through South Dakota, we stopped at a roadhouse in Sioux Falls. I was checking out some of the snacks on the shelf in the shop. I heard a fellow from behind the counter talking to another fellow there. My immediate thought was that this poor guy is in some way mentally challenged. He was chewing every word that was coming out of his mouth. The other guy was talking ok, well, like most other Americans. I listened a bit more and could tune in to what he was actually saying. No, he was not mentally challenged. He was talking normal, but with this thick accent. Travelling across from one coast to the other and of course Canada, we heard all sorts of accents. But this guy was unique. I know we were close to Minnesota. After watching Fargo. I am wondering if he had the Minnesota accent??
    Aftet Sioux Falls, we headed south. Unfortunately, we couldn't fit in Minnesota. We loved all the previous Fargo series and would have loved to travel in that state.
