this is one of the best videos on portrait drawing, the artists are really competent. i love that it shows about expressions and fabric types. most ppl just recommend bridgeman, which for me is what i will start with, but these are much funner, especially the portraits!
Don't start from bridgeman what people are you listening to mate many professionals suggest to start Bridgeman after you have a general idea of anatomy. If youre still trying to look for a beginner anatomy book try Michael Hampton's figure drawing design and invention
Hey everyone - My latest video is up! In this one I talk about some of my favorite books that helped me as I grew as a beginning Artist. Many of them are still helpful now. This one is Part One in a series of Four. Check it out & subscribe to be sure you don't miss my upcoming videos!
Besides the ones by Jack Hamm, books on art instruction by Andrew Loomis are great as well. These include 'Drawing The Head & Hands' & 'Figure Drawing For All It's Worth', amongst others. Both are in the public domain & freely available at archive.org/search.php?query=creator%3A%22Loomis%2C+Andrew%22
kidrowgfx Great suggestions! There are really so many amazing resources out there, but there are some that really stand the test of time because the information is so useful - I think Jack Hamm and Andrew Loomis are 2 that fit that category!
I'm sorry, I haven't heard of that book, so I'm not able to comment on it. I'm planning new videos for a reboot of my channel and I'll keep that one in mind for another book review, though!
