@@alandunaway3000 Nah, it all depends on how you play this MS game. The slowdowns don't really make the game easier. Even for me, the final battle action (which has the biggest slowdowns in the game) is still a definite challenge for me to do and survive through the whole thing on (expert) level 8.
I still remember the times when I fight with the last big UFO boss, the moment when I worked together with the soldiers to save their leader, it still gives me the chills even now

A little tip on Aeshi Nero, you don't have to jump down when the boss comes all you have to do is jump on the first one and when he comes jump again he still glitches

If you objectively compare the first 3 games (1,2-xx, 3) with the later ones. You can easily draw a line between them. Because of the abysmal difference in quality, originality and hard work invested in the diferent elements that made Metal Slug good.
Just because they are not as good doesn't mean they're shitty.. the only shitty metal slug games are the fucking garbage iPhone games and the Metal Slug advance. Metal Slug 4 is like a rom hack of MS1&2 it was pretty decent, MS5 had some kickass soundtack and looks very dark&detailed. MS6 introduced character specific skills and was also pretty decent! MS7/XX had combat school and tons of replay value, it's one of the best actually.

About last boss: man, I appreciate your guide, but this the most fortunate run I have ever seen... ufo from Dai-Manji gave you two laser at first try . First rebel tank killed two ufo... I'm trying more and more time but this never happens. Ufo don't drop me the laser (rarely happens, but only one power up and only when I finished the bombs because the farm). Rebels don't kill almost none. I throw the bombs exactly as you did, but ufo from Rugname don't get killed... if I'm lucky I engage Rugname with some bombs and an HG. But the output damage isn't enough... the screen gets fullfied by so many elite ufo and dodge every laser becomes almost impossible. Could you explain a valid strategy when a not-so-lucky run happens? I can arrive to the final boss without get hit... but that one always took me 1-2 coins.
Sheby No. The bugs for Bosses 2 and 3 were fixed, and the player is more restricted in Bosses 4 and 5. The only good thing is Hyakutaro is in Final Boss to help you out.
Even though I can easily tell you did this on normal level (not expert level 8 which is max), it's still a nice MS 2 video on boss battle tactics. But there are definitely other tactics that can be done especially in the very last 2 battles of the game with the UFOs. I can do pre-final battle no miss with just pistol and No bombs (and on level 8). And, I've also gotten at least Very close to doing that also on the real final battle and on level 8. Both 1 player. But, it pains me to see many people always relying tooooo much on weapons and bombs in these battles to survive.
I had no idea if the old man hyakutarou at first boss can do close attack just like spinning back kick instead of beam shooting I mean like wtf that's kinda totally cool
