Dopo questa solennità sono stata alla veglia dei giovani il 7 giugno 2024, ci sarà la possibilità di vedere il video? Vorrei riascoltarlo e chissà se fosse possibile, avere il testo scritto dell'omelia che ha fatto il cardinale Josè Cobo Cano...mi ha segnato profondamente...lo vorrei per riutilizzarlo nella mia preghiera personale. Impressive enough: but who chose the razzzmatazz Disney pink plumes on the horse-guards' helmets ? They look like pantomime soldiers.
Deep red or black is more appropriate to the dignity of the occasion.
Black is symbol for mourning. Pink is symbol of joy. Red represents passion, blood and martyrdom of Christ so maybe not appropriate since Corpus Christi celebrates the presence of Christ in the Eucharist from Jesus's Last Supper before his cruxifiction. Colors have meaning in Catholicism. Nobody chooses them because they look good.
Let's see if we make a small clarification: the cavalry squadron that opens the procession is made up of members of the Municipal Police of Madrid with their gala uniform and, if the feathers on their helmets are pink, it is because this uniform has always been been like that.
The choice of the color of the Municipal Police helmets has nothing to do with the type of procession or event they escort, it is simply the color of the helmets of their gala uniform and, always, it is the same.
