Shri Parvinder ji , after seeing your videos I have purchased xhdata D219 radio as well as pagariya creta radio and started listening radio again.I am radio listner since child hood, but in between I was away from radio due to workload of bank job

Both Pagaria Creta and Xhdata D-219 are very good Radios and within budget. Enjoy the Radio listening.
I'm using both radio. Actually I was purchased these from amazon, one by one using monthly emi. Both radios are good in signal reception, but main backdrop is both radio doesn't have battery management like system that we have in today's Mobile phone. If battery goes empty in radio after playing long time, it will simply switches off.. Remember, both have big price tag, as we keep in mind that financial situation of Indian individual.

Also, I don't have to go counting stations when Radios involved are of Digital display. I have both these radios an one big difference I feel is the VF/VM tuning on the R-108 which is not there in D-808. When I am in bed listening casually I can easily jump preset channels with the tuning wheel in VM mode on all bands. This is my biggest issue with D-808, there I have to type in the numbers and if the preset is in a different page then first type page then page no. and then preset no. - that's too much and can't do without looking at the radio or in darkness.
I am waiting for a D-808 upgrade model where they will add the VF/VM.
@@debtanudutta5721 ji, rightly said. There are some issues with D-808 which hinder it's practicality or else it's a fine Radio.
Also, another difference which I felt is - the sound of R-108 is more soothing while D-808 is more crisp.

Also, D-808 is far superior on FM.
My priority is Medium Wave. Which radio will be better?? I can spend more as long as i get better reception. I want to listen stations like Varanasi which Philips Champion can’t capture clearly.
For medium wave, no Radios are perfact these days. Still, overall, for all bands, D-808 is awesome.
For MW, R-108 and D-109 are also almost equally good.
Whether they will catch your desired station, I can't say. At least, in day time, I can't. In late evenings, they should.
Namaskar Sir. Another one of a kind comparison video from your end. Precise and straightforward without any complications. As I myself is looking forward to invest in my next world band receiver, I earlier shortlisted D-808, RTL-SDR V4 and PL-330. As I contemplated onto the ease and accessibility of a Radio without any fuss, I decided to put SDR on hold inspite of it's low price then others and providing a full coverage to all tunable radio frequencies. R-108 surprised me here. I've never expected a small portable to give stiff competition to XHDATA's flagship model. Never thought Si4734 D60 chip from Silicon Labs will give a competition to Si4735 D60 that I suppose sports in both D-808 and PL-330. Instead of AIR band that in my opine is of very little use, SSB in R-108 would've made it a real complete package one could've asked for. Nonetheless, a good offering from XHDATA/Sihuadon to Indian Mass at a competitive pricing than it's counterparts. And yet again, I am still finding myself stuck in between D-808 and PL-330. Price for XHDATA's in Amazon currently is whopping 8k INR and hope it would reduce in upcoming sales. Otherwise PL-330 should not be a bad investment. 73! 🙏🏼

After I reviewed that Radio, it kinda became a cult video for entire nation.
Actually, that's a very thrilling feeling. In the beginning, when I had very less Radios and people wanted me to confirm if it was ok to go for D-808, I used to get scared to say yes because of the huge price involved.
But with time, I realised, no Radio ever gave tough competition to D-808, especially on FM which is actually the requirement of 99% modern listeners. Now, I am more confident in my recommendations.
Actually, for someone trying to work and answer honestly, it is a huge responsibility to present the Radios as they actually are, nothing less nothing more.

Positive being, the authority sets in which's not easy for a layman to refute. And also, a sense of belief, belonging and trust takes over with time. Challenging being, to maintain the momentum. Which I feel you are doing it with utmost sincerity.
I myself began listening Radio solely for FM back in my school days when my father presented me Philips Prince. It was only months back and from your generous efforts, I put my hands on AM Bands and never looked back thereafter. The content AM Radio holds is just unbeatable. But it requires shear amount of patience and understanding to accept the volatility AM Radio bestows based on the underlying factors. Nonetheless, your offerings not only tried to ease the difficulties a novice listener could face but also introduced all of us to AM Bands in an easy language. And later, your works inspired me to draw full fledged schedules that could ease AM Listening many folds. It's MW and SW that's keeping me and my curiosity tucked in with Radio, otherwise, I personally don't find much of anything meaningful to listen in FM Band. 73! 🙏🏼

Not much satisfied with r108 as compared with d328. I will install external antenna to improve reception of radios. Thanks for your reviews posted on UA-cam. I will buy d808 in near future. I used to listen radio in my childhood. Again I started listening 15 years ago in my car. Now I have few radios. Can you suggest best philips radio available at present.

Philips Radios presently are only average Radios. Maybe you can get some vintage Radio of Philips

Ji, FM par ye D-808 ka muqabla nahin kar sakta, warna aur tareeke se bahut achha Radio hai. Sound achha hai lekin bahut jyada loud nahin jayega.

Ji, battery backup decent hai R-108, average. Ek sath lagatar chala kar maine nahin dekha hai.
D-808 ko official website se mangwana risky hota hai. Courier charges aur custom duty agar lag gayi to Amazon se bhi jyada mahanga pad jayega.

Sound depends on the amplifier section of a radio. Best way is to connect the radio with any suitable amplifier via line out cable.
Additional amplifier has many controls such as bass, treble or equalizer etc. One can adjust sound quality as per interest. This all complex circuitry of amplifier can't be build in a radio circuit because companies want to keep it in portable size.
You can get desktop Radios of old times that is vintage Radios which came with amplifiers and speakers.
Some people sell them on UA-cam
@@pravindersheoran Vintage desktop radios worked on old technology. Generally with vaccume tubes or germanium or silicone transistors. There were very few RF distortions at that time. So, they works well in olden time. Amplifier sections of those radios were mostly built from class A or class B amplifier circuits where total hormonic distortion was more than todays class D amplifier.
Now, very cheap stereo and mono class D amplifier circuit boards are available in online and offline stores. One has to connect them with power supply, line in and line out. Result will be far better.
Range of these class D amplifiers start from INR 150 wrt output PMPO.
Just add a sound bar with AUX cable, which I do.
@@AbhinabaDas-kv9or Connect any high quality b.t. speaker such as JBL or Sony with your android radio app. You can't get better sound quality from this with any other method. RF disturbances remain negligible, so a high fidelity sound can be received.
