After a few years of trying, I was giving up on the idea that I could learn Spanish in my elder years. Then I came across these stories just a few days ago. They are a revelation to me. Suddenly I feel like I can actually hear and read Spanish. The combination of a slower cadence that I can follow and a narrowed vocabulary that repeats words that are new to me numerous times is a brilliant approach and very enjoyable. I am so happy I came here. The only downside that I can see is that I will finish all the stories on this site more quickly than I would like.
Perfect vocabulary and listening practice for this beginner. I enjoyed the story, other listening practice stories are only just tolerable, LOL. But I would have preferred that Beastia had remained Beastia.

This is fantastic! I have not been very successful with other story themed language learning as it was challenging, even for beginners. I’ve been doing Duolingo and understood much of the storyline without relying solely on the translation. Muchas gracias😊
I have a question.In the story,the father finds out his boat is not lost at sea.The english line was..it is not lost at sea.I had a try at translating it,i came up with...no se pierde en el mar.I noticed that the translation was...No se ha pierdo en el mar.Was my translation incorrect?Thankyou
