  • Jack and Joy and You
I won’t have my name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; that’s okay with me
I may not ever top the pop charts or have a face all the world wants to see
I may not ever hold a million dollars; I may live an unremarkable, obscure life
But I wouldn’t trade places with anyone, for I have Jack and Joy and my wife
I won’t invent some new technology that will cause a Nobel prize nomination
I won’t make any earth shattering discovery or spot some new constellation
I may not ever be on the evening news or publish a best-selling paper back
But I wouldn’t trade places with anyone, for I have my wife and Joy and Jack
I suspect I won’t be read about in the history books several centuries from now
I won’t win a gold medal or some military victory which makes the world go, “Wow!”
I won’t hold political office, which is just as well, since power has a tendency to destroy
Still I wouldn’t trade places with anyone, for I have my wife and Jack and Joy
I won’t have my portrait in
