I build my cages so that they can slide through an 80" doorway. On these cages I tried to get as many as possible so there are 5 at 15" tall each. I have since learned that that is a bad idea for long term cleanliness. Now I go stacks of 4, 15" tall cages 79" tall and leave the bottom open to allow easy cleaning under them. I hope that answers your question.
Nice video i bought a pair of finches but I'm still confused how to make their cage i did put a wooden box put the nest's grass inside but they don't go inside i don't know what to do i keep them in my room not out because it's too hot outside is it ok?
Hey Mark, a general strawberry question for you: have you ever had female who sings? I just purchased a couple and the one that looks female sings more than the male.
I love the video. I want to breed exotic finches when I retire and this type of video is good learning material. One question I have is where can I buy the coconut fibers? I haven't had much luck searching on-line, but a lot of finch breeders recommend it for nesting material so it must exist somewhere. Can you tell me where to find it? Thank you very much.
That is very common with cordon blues. I’ve never had success with them. I have heard of people who do but I don’t think there is a secret just got lucky with good parents.
Awesome video

Great set up. Well done on breeding the Strawbs.
