@@falinestixiaolong9691 That is a more fundamental complain. You will never mistake, for example Jinx, Illaoi, Taliyah, Zeri in their splash arts, or vast majority of male characters, because character body/facial features are distinct to the character. It's the case where character on it's own would be good design, but when put in a roster of characters with the same design decisions it becomes a problem. TLDR Lack of design diversity = design problem.
this years porcelain skins are just IMHO the most far fetched set of champions for the skinline outside of Aurelion Sol actually looking just absolutely stunning and amazing - really just feels like one of those skin sets where they played it safe and released skins for *_'a nondescript set of popular / high-playrate champions'_*
I feel this skin line should be reserved for monster like champions. I could see lilia in this like a deer porcelain figurine, anivia, Azir, if human: Gwen would've been a perfect pick. Ivern etc. Champions that aren't just humans in white and blue clothing. And especially not champs that wield guns.

As an irelia main, I'm mixed on the criticism. I agree that the head shape of the Porcelain splash art is super different from irelia and how it can make her look a bit generic. However, skins aren't just "characters in a different suit" To me, I always saw them as characters being reimagined in an entirely different world and how they adapt like Project, Star Guardian, and High Noon. and yes reimagining also means alternating their looks a bit from certain body structures to accessories and sometimes facial features. I mean look at pug'maw and bee'maw. they straight made kog'maw cute compared to how Kog'maw looks and everyone loved it. So I don't think it's fair to a certain degree that a champion needs to look EXACTLY the same when it comes to skins.
Reimagining is also what I like. But there's a limit to it. Kogmaw is a monster character and, as such, keeping general body proportions is enough to reimagine him while making him recognizable. For irelia, she's a human character. That means, you have to at least keep her face. If you change everything, including the face, then the only thing that makes her irelia is the name. That's a bit more than reimagining.
Kogmaw is not a good example to support your claim since you can VERY EASILY still tell even his "far off" skins are still Kogmaw. When most comments on the initial reveal videos are "what champion is that?" you've really messed up.

There are a fair number of skins for various champions that don't look anything like the default, even in the face. I can only think that the reason Irelia is kept so strong is because her mains are the sort of people to persistently vocally complain whenever they don't get every single thing that they want. That said, I do join them in wishing champions always looked like who they are - in game there is nothing more annoying than seeing a skin that looks like different champion, where my brain in that all-important split second tries to dodge an ability the champion I'm facing doesn't even possess. I think it's very important to note that riot also edits the splash arts to their standards. It's the hair. 3 out of the 13 skins don't have her with her usual long hair and you could argue that she looks like a typical anime waifu rather than Irelia in those skins.

Bro,ai uses human made thing to have a module to replicate, they replicate human art,of course you will think it's ai because it was made by human,ai is not original at all
That's classic "business problem solving" though. Rather than cure the affliction (implementing harsh punishments/permabans for the chronic inter/griefer/rager/flamer/thrower/wintrader), which would temporarily decrease their revenue as a small portion of the player base gets wiped, they'll just disguise the issue and punish EVERYONE by fudging with communication and pings and other inconsequential red-herrings.
It's crazy I get literal trolls in almost every lobby who first time champs in ranked, play random champs in any role (mostly support), and overall don't care about winning, and meanwhile we get more chat punishments while they still get to play LOL. What a fucking worthless bunch of devs. So insane they have jobs.
I played a normal game with a bronze jg today, this teams macro was dog shit and it was beyond frustrating playing, at the end i had a chat with the bronze jgler. we ended up duo because i talked about all the things that he could have done better. we had voice chat and he learned alot from me in that one game and he actually played better and had the most fun he's had in this game as a new player, imagine if we just had voice chat normally so the new players could learn quicker from the vets and making this game much more enjoyable for everyone.
New irelia splash looks great, people are overreacting It's been literally decade plus of Riot introducing skins that have splash-arts that aren't 100% true to the original characters "identity" In some cases, that's literally the point is to have them be perceived in a different fashion like, if you go look at mecha-kingdoms draven you're not going to bitch about how "IT DoEsN't LoOk LiKe DraVeN" What about Traditional Lee-Sin? same thing. Doesn't resemble original design very much, does it? were people complaining about that? Sounds like a bunch of Irelking fanboys mad about their waifu looking different - not an issue.
you know what i thought the other day? voice chat in league would highly increase smurf's winrate since they can also make better calls or let teammates know when they are in danger. what do you think?
I think the irelia skin is to anime in the face she has a sharp jawline while irelia doesn't if they make the jawline more like irelia and change how she stands the splash will be alot better
@@icncwx1790Because nobody has ever watched TV while reading the newspaper before. It has literally never happened in the history of mankind. Humans cannot multi-task and attempts to multitask are draconian cyberpunk dystopia.
For me the issue with the Porcelain skins isn’t necessarily that they don’t look the same in the splash art, that happens all the time. It’s rather that literally every single female champion has the exact same face. They are all the same person, which only makes worse the fact that they DID change her facial features only to remove uniqueness from the design…?
Personally like how the splash at looks more right now than if it were to be changed, also agree that it doesn't look like irelia, now it's making me think I don't like how irelia looks more than I think I do....
It’s funny how when literally anything gets called into question people just automatically slap “it must be AI generated!” people are so braindead it’s crazy
I wonder how China and Korea think of the Irelia splashart because I think the Porcelain skinline is catered more to the Eastern audience. While I don't doubt Riot will listen to these complaints on Reddit, you have to remember that there are other forums in the East that may have differing opinions and stronger sway due to the simple fact that China and Korea are a significantly larger consumer base compared to Europe and America.
Had a game recently where my team 3v1'd the enemy Teemo. They all chatted and called us virgins. I replied "you play Teemo". This was my only message all game. I was called out by the enemy (not Teemo) for talking too much. Thankfully no chat ban.
As an Irelia main myself I have no idea how other people are getting mad about this. There are many, many, MANY skins in this game that don't look like the same person as the original champ. For example look at the newest ezreal skin (heavenscale). That skin makes him look like a completely different person down to his jawline, yet there was no big controversy. Personally I would say if anything the porcelain Irelia skin just looks like a younger version of the original with slightly more pale skin (possibly due to the drastic lighting differences between the splasharts). A lot of the facial features are actually similar if you look closely at them, but its harder to tell because you're viewing her from a different camera angle.
If that Irelia Drama happens to Riven ... everyone is Crying and Riot is Fixing it fast af. Like everyone knows , when Riven players Cry , Riot Babysitt them and it doesnt matter how high her Winrate is...
I think the biggest issue is not her NOT loking like irelia but it not even looking like it should be in this game. This isn't genshin and thats what the splashart is giving
Literal TOS-violating bots can ruin dozens of consecutive games and Riot sleeps, but if you say the word "kill" in chat in a game about killing you get a two week ban. Clown company.
I feel like Porcelain Irelia skin's face looks unrecognisable compared to others Irelia skin is not because of AI art but because of the artist's style is much more different from previous artist that made Irelia's skin splashart. if you take a look at Alsie Lau's female facial style (especially Sona's piece), you could see how they are very similar. Riot might forgot to told artist the specific on Irelia unique face or maybe this is just Alsie Lau's own spin on Irelia which does makes the splashart dope, but the face does looks a bit generic like non-league MOBA art.
People need to understand that banning Verbal Abuse is infinitely easier than banning Inting, from a developer standpoint. And Riot fails badly to communicate this! Banning text is so easy, you just need to look for words! Now human behavior, not even a last generation AI can handle!
the reason why it "looks like ai" is probably because the AI is trained on stolen artwork from League of Legends splash arts, hence why its similar cause its stolen from League.
I think the irellia skin looks fine if it’s a legendary, since “legendary” skins are supposed to completely reconceptulize a character in that fantasy if it’s not I can see why she doesn’t look like her
Idk...looks like every other skin line to me, there are plenty of champions who has a skin that doesn't exactly resemble the original look. I think people just want to whine just to whine.
someone being toxic - solution = mute. someone running it down or being an AI bot, let them play an account for 25 games in a row, going 1-24. Fucked up ideas on what is really toxic in this game
I dont care about skins or if they look like the champ, i dont care if chat penalties exist or not, or how punishing they are, it doesnt affect you unless you are severly toxic
riot should decide on a canon face and body type for each individual character and apply it across all skins. Blizzard manages to do this pretty well, even when anduin aged quite a bit, lost his hair and grew a beard he was recognizeable in an instant in the "war within" cinematic. And each character in overwatch have the same face on their skins. Riot games however, make up new faces for every character for every skin and cinematic so it feel less like a person, and more like a different character but same class from an MMO. Irelia is not an individual, but a class. her abilities define the class and the different skins are the different characters. its so bad.
Riot has a huge Porblem with Splashart clarity. Feels like they have given up. My Problem is that this Irelia looks to sweet? I mean there are some splash arts were Irelia looks kinda friendly but something about the new one looks off. It doesnt feel like a fighter
Recently had a situation where my team's support didn't buy items. We tried telling her in chat, but she didn't listen, we couldn't spam ping her alive to get her attention and eventually found we could just spam ping ?? on her and finally got her attention. It delayed both leash and lane and kind of sucked. It's partly both on Karma for being blind and not paying attention, but also would've helped to at least be able to communicate easier with her.
2:44 I got that creature in my game, I even made a ticket to riot about him, and he is not buying cheap account as you world expect... he has low master/diamond and refuse to partake in anything... whatever you say in his chat he types it in game... damn...
Ai or not. That splash art/skin looks sick af. Why would there be a need to change a good skin to look more like the default one. There are plenty of examples where a skin doesn't resemble the default one. It's a skin for a reason.
2:31 "This streaming account which I dont really have the identity of..." What do you mean you don't have their identity? That's Kevin. Kevin had a lobotomy at age 6, hes currently 19 years old although he is not capable of doing most things normal people can.
honestly I really like the irelia splash art, but i also agree it doesnt really look like irelia. and it really sucks as we've gotten to the point where any slightly anime/3d anime drawings are instantly touted as AI art nowadays. Like I hate ai art and dont think it should exist, but it sucks that blaming it on AI is the instant reaction nowadays. Like the hate ai is getting is deserved, but the hate artists get for having a similar artstyle to ai art is really discomforting. AI art got inspiration from something, and it wasnt other AI art. Irelia's pose in the splash art is really not bad, it might look a little anime like but thats cuz the whole vibe is like that. idk. I really like the skin, and the splash art looks fine to me, even though it doesnt look like irelia.
honestly i could tell it was irelia, the face doesnt mean much to me in terms of champ identity, its often the wepon that stands out the most, irelias blades, sennas gun, sivirs boomerang. However i think adding her circlet/headband would be a perfect adjustment without reworking the splashart
I was personally really hyped when I first saw the irelia skin, I guess I see the complaints now? But I don’t live on the internet so this surprised me. I actually really like the new look, she looks cool.
Dude I had that bot that sneaky had in my game too, thank god I dodged. My entire team went into his chat afterwards and reported his stream. I can't believe this stuff is allowed holyy
Some of her skins are short hair so i dont think being western/asian looking of her is an issue since its a skin and it belongs to their respective universe.
Riot seems to have just nailed a specific look for female champ faces that seems to sell the best, and just uses it for everything. "Blah blah they're a company they need to make money", but at least let the other less popular champs get a crack at these skinlines. Rell, Bard, Blitzcrank, Fiddlesticks, Heimerdinger, Kog'Maw, all would've been good picks for porcelain.
honestly people getting fired up over splash arts need to refocus their anger towards things that ACTUALLY are an issue in the game right now. once Riot addresses and fixes the litany of major issues in the game, then we can drag them over the coals for their greed.
Personally as an irelia main. Instead of complaining about the art, (which I love tbh) my bigger concern is how the in game model doesn’t look like the art… Im mostly disappointed in her hair it looks very stiff. But who am I to judge cuz bad or not im still ecstatic about having a new irelia skin.
I have an entirely different issue with the porcelain skins. This batch does not fit the theme and many of my friends agree. Aurelion Sol is the only cool translation of the porcelain theme. The last batch had a "monster" champion with amumu who got turned into this little teapot boy and Lissandra whose already scattered and shard like appearence already fit porcelain really well. Lux and Ezreal have the same issue I have with this batch: they are humans in porcelain themed clothing. To me this skin line should feel like playing porcelain items that are possessed and came to life. I would have liked it, if Irelia actually had shards of porcelain but ingame they look like porcelain themed knifes. Graves and MF wield guns... a weapon that does not fit the theme at all!! Edit: Champs like lilia, Ivern, Anivia, Azir and so on could fit this skinline so much better or imagine rell on a horse made of porcelain cshards and when she dismounts they form a cup around her as armor

Irelias face looks different in every effing splashart and NOW they complain about it yeah okay
If you want to complain about lack of consistency with a champions face, look at Kai'Sa. There's literally two different faces.
cant wait to get chat restricted for even longer after typing something random in chat and not being toxic, thanks riot
at this point playing without disabled chat is legit grief
I don't condone inting, but I agree that the ping changes are still stupid and should be reverted.
I do wonder if anyone in Riot has ever even had the thought of rewarding good behaviour, or if punishment is the only thing they know.
They have the honour system
The Irelia thing is flat out dumb, there's 999 gazillion worse splash arts to complain about instead of hers.
I played a normal game with a bronze jg today, this teams macro was dog shit and it was beyond frustrating playing, at the end i had a chat with the bronze jgler. we ended up duo because i talked about all the things that he could have done better. we had voice chat and he learned alot from me in that one game and he actually played better and had the most fun he's had in this game as a new player, imagine if we just had voice chat normally so the new players could learn quicker from the vets and making this game much more enjoyable for everyone.
or it would make lol feel like a counter strike match
@@yuruiakumabut you can always mute , you lose nothing
New irelia splash looks great, people are overreacting
It's been literally decade plus of Riot introducing skins that have splash-arts that aren't 100% true to the original characters "identity"
In some cases, that's literally the point is to have them be perceived in a different fashion
like, if you go look at mecha-kingdoms draven you're not going to bitch about how "IT DoEsN't LoOk LiKe DraVeN"
What about Traditional Lee-Sin? same thing. Doesn't resemble original design very much, does it? were people complaining about that?
Sounds like a bunch of Irelking fanboys mad about their waifu looking different - not an issue.
Ty to the guy with the int bot because RIOT HAS TO REVERT THIS SHIT. I hope more ppl do it
2:19 Riot when players use the in-game chat.
you know what i thought the other day? voice chat in league would highly increase smurf's winrate since they can also make better calls or let teammates know when they are in danger. what do you think?
The splash art is amazing. What I'm worried about is the in-game result
I think the irelia skin is to anime in the face she has a sharp jawline while irelia doesn't if they make the jawline more like irelia and change how she stands the splash will be alot better
Theres something so cool but slightly off putting about the entire apple vr thingy
bro is frying his dopamine receptors playing a game and watching twitch
@@icncwx1790Because nobody has ever watched TV while reading the newspaper before. It has literally never happened in the history of mankind. Humans cannot multi-task and attempts to multitask are draconian cyberpunk dystopia.
Its a good splash Art i only care about if there is visual clarity in game
Wow, I didn't know AJ Tracey played league! Love his music.
While I don't doubt Riot will listen to these complaints on Reddit, you have to remember that there are other forums in the East that may have differing opinions and stronger sway due to the simple fact that China and Korea are a significantly larger consumer base compared to Europe and America.
i'd still argue that the plash art looks bad. take another look at her neck and her hands. something weird is going on regardless of ai involvement
I'm surprised there isn't more backlash for the new Brand visual effects.
Also didn't mention that Irelia's model ingame looks incredibly lackluster, particularly the face.
This isn't genshin and thats what the splashart is giving
lowkey i like the irelia splash art
Riot releasing the simba bullshit to distract from the employee firing
The person who made the Irelia Splash Art is a new artist, she'll get better in time.
Still waiting for a spirit blossom irelia
Porcelain Irelia looks more like Lux than Porcelain Lux herself
Yeah I played with that 24h inter, legit is an actual Ai, the one I played with was D4 and still isn’t banned
2:31 "This streaming account which I dont really have the identity of..."
What do you mean you don't have their identity?
Irelia's pose in the splash art is really not bad, it might look a little anime like but thats cuz the whole vibe is like that. idk. I really like the skin, and the splash art looks fine to me, even though it doesnt look like irelia.
i can see the point Irelia mains are bringing on with this skin, if they would do my main (azir) dirty like that i would throw a fit at riot
honestly i could tell it was irelia, the face doesnt mean much to me in terms of champ identity, its often the wepon that stands out the most, irelias blades, sennas gun, sivirs boomerang.
I got chat muted for 7 days for typing sorry my parents asked me to do shit irl and phreak moment lol
I heard the AJ Tracey bar when I just had songs autoplaying and I couldn't stop laughing...
Its clear that Riot has a humiliation fetish at this point
Personally as an irelia main. Instead of complaining about the art, (which I love tbh) my bigger concern is how the in game model doesn’t look like the art… Im mostly disappointed in her hair it looks very stiff. But who am I to judge cuz bad or not im still ecstatic about having a new irelia skin.
"irelia has always had a unique face" Most of the champs have unique faces...
waiting for riot to do an overhaul on female champions face's in splash arts so the girlies can have their own identities
You say this, but it actually used to be that way before they turned everything into bootleg fake korean anime.
