  • This is a time-lapsed abstract painting demonstration on how I use acrylics, a catalyst wedge and a free style flat brush on stretched canvas. This is NOT a "How to Paint an Abstract Painting" video, but hopefully will give you inspiration and ideas for your own DIY abstract painting.
    Adjust the settings on the video to watch a slower version and to gain a better understanding of my technique.
    Tools:
    TriArt and Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint
    Free style flat brushes
    Silicone catalyst wedge (W-06)
    Colours Used:
    Neon Pink
    Neon Orange
    Titanium White
    Prussian Blue Hue
    Teal
    All abstract paintings are available at www.courtsenio...

    I love your spontaneity in the colours you use. Also you don't stick to same old shades each time. Thank you for being so open in answering the queries on do you wait for them to dry and do you use mediums or not. Very honest and helpful!

    Beautiful and playful work. You sure do inspire! I have a practice board and go into the art room everyday and try a swipe or two or three. Still haven't got it done yet, however I will keep plugging away at it. Taking my paints to Mexico with me for the winter so there will be no excuses not to work at it October to April. Please keep posting!

    You have such an eye for composition, and I just love how you treat white space in your paintings. These are brilliant. Btw, what do you do with the sides of your canvas? Do you paint them black, white, or leave them? Thank you!

    • @CourtSeniorART
      @CourtSeniorART  3 роки тому

      Thank you so much! I do paint the sides based on the white space colour, so in this case white but if I do a grey or black background I will paint the sides differently :)

    Gorgeous! Is there any primer or medium on the canvas or is this the result of pure wedge? 😮

    • @CourtSeniorART

      Canvas is primed with gesso but other than that just fluid acrylics and the wedge :)

    I love your work! Can I ask if you have to allow any drying time that we don't see in the time-lapse so that your colours don't mix when you don't want them to?

    • @CourtSeniorART
      @CourtSeniorART  3 роки тому +2

      The first few layers are always wet to allow blending and the final layers are usually added after drying

    Hello. Somewhere on you tube I came across your online course for how you paint. I have not been able to fine the information again. Can you post it again or advise how we can find out more. Your work is a joy to watch. I do not sell my paintings but would enjoy the challenge of your work. Thank you. Barbara Bishop in New ORLEANS

    Do you let the paint dry at any time before applying another layer?

    • @CourtSeniorART
      @CourtSeniorART  4 роки тому

      No, the paint needs to be very thin and wet in order to blend into one another
