Yes! Servals have a VERY wide vocal range, it varies from meows to chirps to barks to hisses. Chloe can meow and hiss and they both are just normal forms of communication !
I got charged at by a growling dog from a block away and never climbed a tree so fast in my life. Then the owner comes out and says "That's just how she barks" . I pet her and... sure enough , still growling at me .

But I surely respect them all. Aren't u worried when she hisses at u? She has some nice sharp teeth. Usually my cats always hissed when they were frightened or angry. Is it different for her? For anyone wondering: Servals and some other wild cats hiss as a form of communication. It can even be friendly. If it is a angry hiss the ears normally go down amd their posture becomes defensive. Like when the cat had an orange, the growling and hissing with that posture means "stay away from my food"
Ears up, she's communicating and means no harm. Ears flat back means please leave me alone. It seems like oranges put this Serval in a bad mood for some reason 🤣
