Ajay is a very versatile actor.. he used to be Action+Romantic star in 90s.. he has given lots of lots of great Drama performances and no one can compete him with comedy. his comic timing is great. He is an all rounder and he is son of one of greatest stunt director.

jaby koay I think your perspective of the trailer would change if you got some background on Lord Shiva and understood the narration. The trailer kind of tries to draw parallels between the main character and Lord Shiva. Well I don't know exactly what the movie has to do with Lord Shiva but here's a little background on certain things in the trailer you may not have realised since you may not have had any Indian friend point them out and explain them to you.
•The title of the movie is clearly named after Lord Shiva
•Lord Shiva is the 'lord of Destruction' and hence the trailer at one point says "there will be destruction" in addition to the visuals of constant destruction
•Himalaya is the abode of Lord Shiva and hence all the Himalayan scenes.
•At one point the character is shown with some form of a smoking device. This is presumably marijuana as Lord Shiva too is often depicted to be consuming Marijuana (Bhang/Ganja/Charas)
•The big tattoo shown on the main character's back is that of a 'Trishula', Lord Shiva's trident weapon.
•The narrator in the trailer is quite literally and vividly describing Lord Shiva and kind of insinuating that he's also talking about the main character in the movie.
So basically the narrator is saying that the main Character is Shiva. Now I don't know if he means that the character is Lord Shiva himself (maybe an incarnation or something) or maybe that the character is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and hence has over time automatically started impersonating Lord Shiva's characteristics or maybe the character is simply a person with characteristics like Lord Shiva's.
I guess we'll have to watch the movie to find out what exactly the character has to do with Lord Shiva but just thought you'd like to know this much. Cheers!

Ajay Devgan is an established actor who did really well in the 90s when he played really serious and intense roles. Lately, he has actually been doing comedy movies. I personally like him as the serious and tough guy, so thank god he's doing those roles again cause he's really good. He is married to Kajol (one of the best actresses ever ).

Hey Jaby, Great reaction as usual. Ajay Devgan is a really underrated actor. This is his second directorial film. The first one was U Me and hum which was amazing as well but it was a romantic drama. His wife stars in that movie with him. He is a good director because he is bringing new tech to India and using it in film production. For U Me and Hum, he brought a drone when it just started becoming main stream for aerial shots rather than using a crane setup. I think he is pushing the boundaries with this one as well. You should react to U Me and Hum trailer since its very poetic.I am looking forward to this as well :)

the fact is lord shiva is the most fascinating character in whole of world mythology, maybe this movie is named after him because the protagonist shows some of his characteristics

his name is Ajay Dewgan. he is a good actor, he is famous for portraying serious roles, JAKHM is one such movie...recently he was doing comedy movies, Shivaay is his action thriller after long time.. he is famous for doing his own action sequences, his father was action sequence director in bollywood.
this character is not from Himalayas but Lord Shiva used to live in Himalayas.. the tattoo on his back and the background voice refer to Lord Shiva.. so does the name of the movie.

honestly I abhore Indian action movies, they've all but made a joke out of the genre - but holy crap this trailer blew me away, and I've been unable to stop. Chinese and Korean action movies have these raw feel to them that just fill you with tension and you're nothing but an adrenaline tank. Shivaay falls in that category. I'm definitely watching it.

The theme of Snow caped mountains, shots of weed and the destruction all relate to the name of the Movie and also to the "Rock/Rap" Themed Music that plays towards the end of the trailer are in relation with the theme of the mountains. Here's How
Shivay is a variant of the name of Lord Shiva. The God of Destruction. He resides on a Mountain (Kailash). That's why the lyrics of that music are "Ja Kailash" : Go To Kailash. "Kar Vinash Kar Sarvnash" : Unleash Destruction

Since some people go insane requesting for trailers in the comments, and others say to ask Moumita on Twitter or email you, I wanted to know how to request a trailer the right way so that I don't waste my time or yours.
I love your trailer reactions a lot and think it's pretty cool how someone who isn't from India or understands Hindi/all other Indian languages likes to react to trailers from there.
