wow its like u read my mind i was just dealing with this
When using a usb to play music in a 2017ram. I can play it at good volume around 13. But when switching to Bluetooth audio ,android auto, using app like youtube...I have to have radio set all the way at max at 40 to barely hear it. Is there anyway to fix this? What does amp switch do? I tried surround sound it didn't do much. I have the alpine system ,so I have factory amp selected.
@@Jh3454-df5vm turn factory amp off unless the speakers distort while listening to it.
USB will always sound better than Bluetooth due to the way Bluetooth compresses music files.
There is in audio gain settings for the different sources. Try adjust the source gains and see if you can get them even.

@@shantanureddy8115 so I don’t know what you mean by aftermarket audio system.
If you are installing an aftermarket radio you need to get the correct adapter to retain the factory amplifier.
If you are adding aftermarket amplifiers you need to locate the factory amplifier and use some sort of Hi-Level adapters to get the factory amp signal to feed into you aftermarket amplifiers.
I have a TStyle Gen 6 in my ‘14 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was installed by an authorized retailer but I cannot get my factory CD player to play. I’ve tried putting in CD’s and nothing shows up.
@@brimariesmiles you need to open up the “Car Setting” app. That will give you a controller that lets you control the factory CD player. It will not auto go to CD because it’s an Android radio so the app has to be opened manually.
Strongly considering your radio for my ‘18 Wrangler JL. I’m planning on bypassing the OEM Alpine amp using PAC interface to incorporate aftermarket amps. This includes a T-harness for the big box plug. Compatible?
It is. But our radio has Preamp outputs and a TOSLYNK output. So the PAC interface really is used to make preamps from the factory radio hi level outputs. I really don’t know that it’s necessary for anything outside of a simple way around rewriting past the OEM Amp.
But if that what you want to do. Our radio will function basically the same as the factory radio would with that interference

How do you get rid of white noise only come on radio mode or car play
2018 f150 no amp. Speakers distorting bad at volume 25 or higher. Dealer that installed told me I would need to buy an aftermarket amp to fix the issue. Seemed like they didn’t want to look further into my issue what do you suggest I do.

@@LinksWellInc 100% no factory amp. With loud turned on I can’t turn it past 12 before it starts to distort. I have the lite model.
@Linkswellinc Would the factory eq have to be flattened even with no amp? I’m not sure if the installer did or not.
@@michaelbowman7468 no. Only if there is an external factory amp that has a built in EQ like the Sony or B&O.
John, I just installed gen 5 in my 2015 GMC with Bose system. This remedy doesn’t seem to work for me as my application does not have audio settings in the vehicle settings. What do you suggest?
What I say in the video of reinstalling the factory radio. Flattening the EQ on the factory radio. Then reinstalling the LinksWell Radio.

I just installed this in my 2018 Silverado 3500, music sounds good but ive lost bass? No add on bass just oem stock, i do have the bose system and i do have the adapter installed.
@@tzaromega2317 so it could be that the factory amp eq is messed up.
Did you flatten the EQ on the factory radio before removing it?
So by flatting the EQ on GMC bose, is that turning it all the way down on factory settings or in the middle on treble, fade and balance? I left mine in the middle and it pops even when there is no sound playing....
So if there is popping happening with no sound. That sounds like a completely different issue from this tutorial. Like a bad amp or something.
@LinksWellInc there is sound, and it sounds okay. What I meant was on boot up for example, or when I'm on a phone call with the volume at its lowest, the popping is constantly there. You don't hear as much when playing music, especially the more I've messed with the settings to try and make it sound better.
Just had gen 4 linkswell install in daughter's '14 F150. Is there a compatible amp that can push 200+W speakers and a small sub?
So any aftermarket amp will work with our radios. We have the same industry standard RCS preouts that will connect to any aftermarket amp.

I don’t know if you’re going to see this but I bought a apple carplay system, every time I change a song or volume hit 0 there’s a popping sound really annoying

Hello, I recently installed an android radio for a 2013 mustang which has a pioneer amplifier connected with high level inputs and it turns on with the signal from the speakers but since I installed the Android the amplifier does not turn off when I turn off the car, do you have any idea of What could cause that? I am thinking that the radio continues to send a signal even when it is turned off
So we don’t make a system for the 13 Mustang. So I can’t say for sure what is happening because we didn’t build it to know how it is effectively doing amp turn on.
It could be the radios CanBus is set wrong. It could be the harness is built wrong. It could be something internal on the radio is messed up and not switching its signal.
2020 f250 xl, no premium sound but it does have an eq. same things to watch out for?
Not if it doesn’t have an external amp.

Nothing for the new body style GM trucks.
GM locked the CanBus and started to use LanBus as well. So there is no tooling are ability for aftermarket companies to get into the trucks system to start reading or writing code :/ so currently we are stuck and moving VERY SLOW trying to figure a way around it.
I dont have the crackling. But on my 2015 ram 2500 with the linkswell xl gen6 volume all the way up at 40 i can barely hear the music. Running wireless android auto. How to i get the volume louder??? Factory alpine premium 8.4 was way louder.
@@TheLaughlin82 couple things. Try what I mention in the video. Make sure “Factory Amp” is turned off in System Settings.
@LinksWellInc factory amp is off. I've gone thru all your videos. And every setting I can find. Max volume on this radio is 40 and with it all the way up and my doors open in the quiet country I can barely hear the music. 😢 so driving down the road sucks barely hearing it and the forbid I roll down a window it's a fail
@@LinksWellIncok wierd thing just happened. I turned my radio down to 26 and Major clear volume...I'm so confused going back up to 40 volume decreases.
@@TheLaughlin82 so go to “Car Settings” in there is the factory amp settings. Adjust the volume and gains in there. See if that gets you more volume.
What was the "whether w/ amp" setting on that video for? I'm installing a gen 5 on my alpine ram this weekend.

Nope. Never got an answer. Got rid of the unit since then. Went with a phoenix unit and super happy with it. Better sound quality and easier to use.

I have a Gen IV, and I notice the app settings are different like the one you show the icon to the left vertically the first icon is the satellite and the other one is basic, is there a firmware update?
Not yet. Mine is running the XM beta firmware.

@@Akafoo247 not following? Gen 4 has 2 different UI’s. Our older and our newer UI.

@@Akafoo247 radio wise yes. But updates and menus are very different.
I have a video on how to update the APP. If you run the 4.6 update from our website you should get the new UI.
Something happened and my android auto button doesnt do anything. As well as when i click phone link it doesnt bring up Zlink anymore. Like its gone completely.
@@tylerweld4052 sounds like the ZLYNK app got deleted. You need to reinstall it.
Is there any fix for steering wheel volume buttons not working? They were working before and suddenly stopped
It probably do to the HVAC/CanBus protocol getting changed. Double check you have the right protocol set in the HVAC set up page.
I just had the linkswell 13.3 installed in my 2014 jeep and I had to go in and reprogram the button functions for what I wanted them to do. After that they seemed to work perfectly.
Is there a way to reprogram my microphone? People are unable to hear me when I speak. I have a Gen 4 and use Carplay.
Where did you install the microphone at?
@@LinksWellInc The installers at Discount Audio & Wheels installed a separate microphone on the upper left hand corner of my windshield. It used to work but it stop working. I move out of state now so I can’t take it back to them. I can hear people but they can’t hear me.

Does it work in normal Bluetooth?

When are the GM Gen 4's getting the Gen 5 OS update?
It won’t. Gen 5 UI is only for Gen 5

There’s a static when I play music or use maps on my Gen 5. How do I get this to go away??
Static? Like a white noise? Or actual static? What are you using for your audio source?
@@LinksWellInc it’s like a white noise. Using Apple CarPlay. But it also did it when I switched to a fm radio station.

Brand new unit out the box and 2 Brand new adapters $350 each and no sound
@@jeffreyguzman9230 so something must be plugged in wrong or something. The BOSE adapter has a 99% no failure rate. Literally I have seen like 4 go bad in 6 years.
Have you verified all plugs are in the correct locations?

So what about when the stereo thinks the tweeters are front door speakers in ram alpine? The installer s couldn't figure it out, this the fix for that? Front door speakers are virtually non existent but tweeters about to explode at 25
Yes. Chances are this will fix that like I mentioned in the video. When the Alpine system cracks at 20.
@@LinksWellInc Didnt work, instead of sound from tweeters it then put out no sound at all. installers spliced wires around to change the signal input but just flipped the driver/passenger climate/safety sense. Radio shows driver door open for passenger door and vice versa, and climate controls are now passenger controlled. Primary front sound still coming from tweeters and front door speakers acting like tweeters. This is for Gen 5 unit btw
@@LinksWellInc Also is there a fix for Android auto not connecting wireless and not recognizing mic? All calls come through Bluetooth, and no voice assist for Android or Bluetooth. Sorry for all the questions just trying to get it to function properly
@@SuPaFuPa420 have you watch the video I posted on connecting the Android Auto?
Watch that. Then make sure the ZLYNK version is 4.0.18. I have a video on how to update the ZLYNK as well.

So is there no options like this for the 2017 mustang gt? Cause when I go to vehicle it doesn't show this this but fade and everything is stuck on -7 what's up with that???
And my eq on my stock radio was never messed with....
Where u able to fix this running Into the exact same thing on my 18 gt premium. All -7 and I'm unable to adjust alter them
I have no sound whatsoever from radio, I do have the stock amp in kick panel removed from. My 9 speaker will be reinstalling a stock amp to test this weekend

I have the same issue, when I press play for music, it takes 3 seconds to hear anything and sometimes skips
