James i remember you saying a year ago keep an eye out on Amorin, bang on the money again as you were with Ineos takeover. The best UA-cam source for accurate information, not clickbait and speculation nonsense.
Hope the fella is ready for stupid levels of pressure. It takes a special personality to be unaffected by all the noise around the club. Good luck to him
It blows my mind how fast this all happened. Ineos ain't playin. So weird to see United behaving like a real club for a change but so refreshing at the same time.
Honestly just waiting to see how it'll work at Utd but I'm definitely impressed with how fast INEOS did in getting him. At least they're trying to rectify their earlier mistakes. Although I do admit his team is brilliant to watch.
I agree with you but I'm also impressed he has shown an ability to adapt to opponents and injuries. Even went to a back four last year and won like 70% of games with it. Shows he isn't a one trick pony and can train the squad to be resilient and effective. HUGELY missing with ETH
The culture war of people trying to force garnacho into usurping Rashford is going to be insufferable. Ten hag caving to that is pretty much what cost him his job in the end
Great analysis 👍 it looks great on paper but it’s also still the same players. Under ETH many points were lost because of stupid mistakes or misfortune by players. Many players are still very inexperienced or unadapted to the PL. After the new manager bounce is over i think it will go back to mediocrity unless the manager can work some miracles
Why not wait and see. Utd. fans have had a difficult time for the past few years. Remain optimistic, Ineos now in charge, good football people calling the shots and supporting the manager. Who knows, he might be the coach to turn this great club around. No one knows how this is going to work out but I am optimistic.
His 3 atb formation will bring something new to United and will distinguish us from other teams as not many teams are playing with a back 3 anymore. Suits our squad to a tee, apart from wingbacks. The flexibility the formation brings is enormous, especially in terms of match-to-match adaptations. Excited for what the future holds for United.
I watch a lot of sporting here in Portugal and must admit his back 3 stubbornness does concern me long term. I also worry about his style will translate to the prem. but he is very different to ETH that’s for sure.
@@hamishmurison3764 I just havent seen back 3s work in top clubs competing in the prem consistently since, well, basically only Conte (and even that was short lived). I'm not sure it works at OT fundamentally. That said short term it should.
@@tris421 understandably people are wary of that which is fair, but everyone is going off assumptions of how he'll play. 3-4-3 doesn't necessarily mean that would be the case in and out of possession, unless he is that rigid
@@hamishmurison3764 tbf my concerns with 3-4-3 will mostly occur when we are already an elite team and want to reach the next level. So I suppose that will be one of them good problems.
It will take me time to be excited. Amazing job James, love the content. But I am just lacking optimism as when Ten Hag joined us, we were also promised stellar football under one of the most wanted managers in Europe back then. But well we know how it turned out. I just hope this isn't the same case.
The acid test will be how he stands up to the scrutiny he’ll face at United, and a media literally willing him to fail. It will be unlike anything he has experienced and how he deals with that pressure, whether it starts to impact his judgement and his relationships with players, will make or break him. My best advice would be to isolate himself and the team entirely from the circus and build a psychological fortress.
Yes, i remember ETH began with two defeats and surrender his football beliefs. The first year is free hit. Play your style. Create an identity. Then hit ground running next season
Not sure about Garnacho being the LWB. Maybe on the right. While Garnacho likes to receive the ball wide, he tends to mostly move inside, not outside to hold width. He could be more inclined to do that on the right side, but I doubt it'll happen on the left. Although, who knows. Maybe he'll transform his game.
One of the videos you mentioned (I think it was in a video during last int. Break) that , they admire Amorim but have some concerns. Was it the formation he prefer or his inexperience or something else?
Been a supporter of this club since my childhood .I only wish this guy the best and i hope they don't sack this guy as well. This fanbase is so toxic that it will make even the good ones bad as the fans gets manipulated easily within days of spewing hatred over the media ,its a curse these days. I remember when ETH was appointed everyone praised him i knew how it was gonnna end with the attitude. But he came to the club at a wrong time when it was run by clowns. Now that atleast INEOS is there I really feel like this takes a lot of pressure away from Ruben but still the media is out there waiting to take a jab at man utd for any minute mistake. They hate the idea of man utd leading be it any other clubs they won't be doing any such trickery.
I agree with so much of what you say James. However, I can’t agree with your views on Rashford. Good players are not so inconsistent. All players play well occasionally. Good players play well often, great players play well the majority of the time. Who knows which Rashford is going to turn up game on game ? In my view most of the time he does warrant a place in this team that I love.
Reports are saying Amorim is bringing 3 coaches with him. So, is it end for Ruud, Hake & others in the coaching staff who are just appointed in the summer ???
It was what ETH did in Europe that had us all so excited. Nothing to do with Eredivisie really. As you say, winning Eredivisie is expected. Im happy about Amorim but he isnt joining with even half the stock that ETH had. Dont think i’ll ever get really excited about a manager again until we’re 19 games into season 2.
And neither team are expected to reach the semi final of the champions league, beating Real Madrid and Juventus over two legs. My whole point is that it’s clearly all meaningless when trying to figure out if it can translate to this mammoth club in this league, continuously suffering from all sorts of external factors. Basically, Ten Hag was rated far higher back then than Amorim is now. So I’ll not be getting excited anytime soon. That includes during the inevitable new manager bounce we will get for the rest of this season.
All these are beautiful words but what nobody can answer is how he will look after losing 2 consecutive games including a 5-0 loss at anfield when Dalot has had a brain fart. Pressure that crumbled some of the best managers in the game. Not sure Utd fans understand that Man united is a different monster that will absolutely swallow & destroy even the best managers & players.
I'd love to see a back 3 with Yoro as the sweeper. de Ligt & Martinez are both front foot defenders who'd be better next to Yoro than each other. So all 3 would be great. You can still have wing play in your front 3. A back 3 with wingers can be done. Can't wait to see it!
look James what are you saying about def (esp licha & de light) passing the balls to Garnacho nd other winger then you don't follow them properly. Both Licha & De Ligt lack that quality to deliver a 30/40 Yards pass. and that's y Amorim must deploy Maguire in the CCB position as only he possess that quality among them and I think he should deploy Shaw in the LCB position as he is a good channel def + won't lose the way he wants to play. Ideally, it should be Shaw/Licha (LCB), Maguire/Evans (CCB), Yorro/De Ligt (RCB)
I remember these clown couldnt play Tenhags preferred Ajax style and they couldnt play Rangnick's gegen press. Why will they be able to play this new style?they arent adaptabile to most modern formations 😢
