- Intelligently Discharging LiPo Battery to Storage Voltage. Never keep your battery at the full voltage to preserve battery life. VIFLY StoreSafe is a great solution to discharge and maintain your lipo batteries. With the advanced algorithm and built-in temperature sensor, VIFLY StoreSafe lipo battery discharger can intelligently adjust the discharge speed according to the battery voltage and unit temperature. It ensures the highest discharge rate in an appropriate temperature range.

Thanks so much for your great review.
No problem. These are fantastic.
Vifly constantly making the things we didn't know we needed. Battery backed beepers, smart smoke stoppers, and now these. AMAZING!
Indeeedy. And there's something else on the way in the New Year. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this, I've ruined so many Lipos over winter
Glad I could help.
OMG! I have been waiting for something like this. Very easy, very cheap. I'm glad I clicked on your video, thanks Whirly you are the battery charge master!
Glad you liked it!
I'm excited about that. I recently got the "LiPo Suction" from HobbyRC, but they're voltage specific. I love that this can adapt to a range of S values. That's so much better!
It's a fantastic little thing. Thanks for watching.
Would be nice to have one for the 1S batteries with JSP connectors and a switch to select HV type batteries. Thanks for sharing!
That would be cool
In lieu of that you could create a 4S or 6S harness to plug your 1S packs into, then this will see them as the respective battery type.
Warning tho, your separate 1S packs are more likely to be out of balance than an actual nS pack. So use with caution!
Just found your video, great review! and subscribed! :) some quick questions, how warm does it gets when discharging? is it ok to just leave couple of batts plugged with this inside a lipo bag or ammo box? and based on your experience how long roughly does it takes to discharge from a full one ie. 4s or 6s?
But how fast can it discharge? What amps?
how about 1s batteries?
Thanks for reviewing these - looks like I could use a set!
Gotta be worth it.
I have a lot of lipo and parallel charge/discharge to 3.8V after each use so I probably don't need this. It could be usefull if it could stay on all the time and have a timer then it would make a smart baterry like DJI use for their drone.
Yes but they'd be expensive.
hello , how do we know if our lipo batt is ready for storing? no particular light flash code? thank you sir.
No need
but does it truly shut off.. what if you forget.. and the voltage rises slightly does it float around.. see its paracidicly taking current that little device if you forget about it a month later i bet your bat will be gone... and those take wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to long to discharge..
How longs it take to bring battery down
Great little gadgets to have...but...if they discharge at 1w that means it would discharge a fully charged 4s battery (16.8v) at 0.06 amps? That would take a lot of hours to discharge to storage? Am I reading that right? 🤔🧐
Does it matter? Just plug them in and forget.
4S 1500mah will take around 7 hours. 2S 450mah will take around 1.5 hours. And this unit will go into ultra-low current when it discharges to storage voltage that you don't need to worry your battery will over discharge, so plug-in and leave it alone.
I always charge and discharge in balance mode, so would like to see a discharge device that plugs into the balance port to assure all cells discharge the same to 3.85 volts. That I would buy.
@@joecaraco7503 Totally understand your point regarding the balance discharging as you are concerned the balance will be destoryed by the discharger. But per our long time testing, this tiny device will not affect the lipo balance as the discharging current is so small. If your own battery is charged by the balanced charger and every cell is balanced, after discharging with VIFLY StoreSafe, it is still balanced (every cell is around 3.85V), we have done the testing for many circles.
Have you ever tested these with your Li-ion DIY packs?
The work fine although the storage charge for lithium ion is slightly different it doesn't effect things too much. Thanks for watching.
Do you know if anyone in the UK is stocking these yet?
Not yet.
Is it ok to store lipos in a cold shed (I'm in the UK) over the winter? Does the cold impact the life of your battery?
Ideally they should be stored at 3.85V per cell and room temperature. They don't really like too hot or too cold. I wouldn't store them in the shed over the winter.
@@WhirlyBloke thanks for the heads up. Just invested in a new arsenal of batteries. Will keep them cosy in that case. Thanks.
You can read up about it but if you’re storing your batteries, you will actually increase their lifespan by keeping them cold (such as in the fridge) because it slows the chemical reaction that causes them to decay.
You're still going to want to balance them as this thing could/will discharge one or more cells moreso than the others.
Yep
Do you mean the next charge should be a balance charge?
@@toyota218921 no. You want to store the battery with balanced cells. That is why you should discharge or "storage charge" your cells on a balance charger
@@ryanokeefe12 can I discharge with the vifly then discharge with a balance charger?
@@toyota218921 yes, that's why I said "still".
How long does it take to discharge the battery, I hear 8 to 12 hours
Depends on the battery capacity.
@@WhirlyBloke What if attached it to a bigger heat sink? Would they discharge faster? or would it mess up the battery?
