I was one of the original members of Primal Trust back in early 2021 and it was very helpful. Then when Dr King released Regulate back in 2022 I joined right away. What I loved about the program was that I could go at my own pace, I didn't HAVE to use all of the 40 plus tools she shared with us. And I could use the tools that made sense for me. This program saved my life! Thank you Dr Cat! You are a gem.
I forgot to mention that my favorite videos were the recorded question and answer sessions. These were chock full of gold nuggets that helped me personalize my own daily practice. 😊🙏🏻
Love this. I think transformation is the thing which speaks the most to me. If we go back to who we used to be, we haven't actually healed. Since that version, the ways of living, thinking and feeling, is what brought us to where we are now. Thank you!
You're so welcome! When we have this reframe, it releases so much tension. It also opens up to so much possibility of what you can grow into vs getting back to where you were before.
This resonated with me!!!! Dealing with Dysphagia right now and I’m that type of personality that’s always been Go go go! Very independent, have had to work very hard and deal with lots of stress. People always rely on me and make you feel guilty if you say no! Eventually I think my body burned out and dealing with swallowing issues.
"I learned to put myself first" this is where I am at now. Leaving the past hurts and disappointments behind, ditching the guilt, letting go of people who are not and never were healthy for me - putting my mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health first. That means leaving someone's company when their conversation turns negative; not doing what I don't feel like doing.
Cathleen, you are a gift from the Divine. Thank you! Can't wait to start PT again. When I'll recover and start the job as a family doctor again I swear I'm gonna tell all my patients about neural retraining and PT.❤
My twin flame who walked in my life in 2021 and had no idea I had to heal and I had no idea what to do no one ever told me anything I was confused my guides were trying to Get me to heal so things were coming up I was just crying I don’t know why. Since last September I have took my healing seriously I have healed all of the core wounds that I have had happened to me as a child. Now I am healing my fears and I’m also healing the vagus nerve. It is definitely a challenge and it is definitely a process but it’s worth it. But you are right with the nervous system. It does need a lot of training and it’s every hour every minute every second. You have to keep retraining, your nervous system, that you are safe I do yin yoga I do EFT tapping I do yin yoga for the vagus nerve, and I just bought Apollo neuro supposed to help train the nervous system. There is moments where I do have resistance, but I do ask God universe to help break that resistance each and every time it’s not easy, but it’s definitely worth it because I notice each day and more I am stepping into my own power I feel the emotions is coming, less less and less each day. I do appreciate you explaining I wish you would’ve walked into my life two years ago because I wouldn’t have done all of struggling like I have, but you know what I learned a lot of life lessons and between and it’s definitely worth it for me. Thank you
Number 4 was soooo good. I never heard someone so perfectly explain my POTS and ME/CFS cycle. I can literally feel when im laying down too long the heart rate starts to go up, adrenaline kicks in and the way I get my heart rate down is by getting up and moving and expelling that excess adrenaline, then thats always followed by a crash where my heart rate drops and im back in freeze fatigue and can't move for days until the heart kicks up again and the cycle repeats.
Thank you Dr Cat for your insights into this! Ive been in the brain retraining community for 3 years trying to heal from protracted anti depressant withdrawal. I had a window 1.5 years ago where i felt well enough to design patterns and sell them on Etsy. Everything was going in the right direction and then i started into a big wave that 18 months later has left me barely able to walk with issues with my arms, hands, legs and feet. Ive been brain retraining the entire time. I had to back off because i became so sensitive to it but i still did about 10 min a day. Ive slowly gotten worse over the past 18 months and everything ive tried has caused me to get worse. So ive basically stopped everything but humming and light relaxation somatically. I dont understand why this has happened and why i cant seem to get better. Ive done a lot of internal work in the past 3 years. Im living my values, changed beliefs, tried to feel inately safe though this one has been a challenge. I would love to talk to Dr Cat if she would be willing to have a session with me. I feel like at this point i need a healing guru! Thank you!
I really appreciate this talk. It has helped me a lot. I have recognized a few things in myself and some wrong approaches that are not helping me. I have saved the video for future listening and reminders. Sending love from Spain 💃❤
I do have this secondary gain as in not "being able" to work, a strong part that is trying to protect me from just as you said throwing myself under the bus again by not saying no. Really trying hard to solve this and take care of me better.
In talking with other women i am finding personality traits of Asperger's (spectrum related disorders) in their partners. I have found educating yourself in this area may take away the resentment.
I am new , I have been watching Instagram and downloaded and going through the Free Handbook How Healing Happens, and listening to this video from there. where do I find Module 2 to watch where they talk about the polyvagal theory...please!
hi there i have listened to this episode several times. you share so much wisdom and honesty, thankyou. Do you have any recovery stories with people who have taken a long time to heal please? 🌸🌼
A friend of mine just put me onto this. I am curious about nervous system disregulation as a result of a neurological illness where anxiety is there due to the challenges of the symptoms and then it puts everything else off
What if the only way to get out of a toxic relationship or situation is by healing? How can that be possible? Since it's way harder to heal or even almost impossible from what I personally understood? Let's say your partner, parents or whoever you are living with aren't redeemable at all because they'd rather live in anger and hatred but their behaviour and actions is what made you the sick person because you've been the one abused by them. So you have to move out of there, but you're too sick to function on a daily basis so let alone find a job or take care of your kid on your own. Also nobody can help or is willing to help you out of there. I guess my question is, how can you heal enough or at least make sure that the situation you're living in doesn't affect you to the point it makes you chronically ill, so that you can get a job, make money and get out of there and complete your healing journey fully?
Totally hear you and it's tough. Many times our circumstances are challenging and make the healing journey complex. What I would say is that you can improve to a point from doing the inner work to strengthen yourself/your own boundaries, and find enough inner safety in order for your health to at least start to get better to take the next steps. It is difficult but with support from likeminded people in a community, such as ours for example (or whatever you could find -- another kind of group? Church?), I think it is possible. Regulating your nervous system is still going to be important and it can still work, even when your circumstances aren't conducive to healing. It's important to look for all the little ways and little things you CAN do, and start from there.
@@primaltrustofficial Thank you for your reply. So basically if there's a will there's a way? Even if you live in a toxic environment you can find little things to work on that may get you healed enough to leave the environment?
I have severe food allergies . Dnrs didn’t help? Does your program help with food allergies? On a side note this video is amazing and you look amazing! I’m obsessed with your background. I love the desert 🌵
Yes, It helped me. I could only eat 4 foods without severe reactions. Still work to do, but can eat most things with few symptoms - heard many similar stories.
I am having severe mcas reactions to every food now. I am desperate for help. I have tried DNRS but wasn't super consistent with it. How much is your program? I love this video so much
I must ask you this question bc I need your thoughts on seeing a chiropractor for c-spine. I am a PTA disabled from Lyme, pots and past trauma. I have lateral displacement of c1 and c2 due to a bad auto accident as a teen. When the neck is slowly re aligned back to neutral, what happens all the soft tissue and blood supply that has grown around and adjusted for many years and now has been disrupted? It;s like an inpingment.? I felt worse after treatment so much so I was getting dizziness and vertigo and so off balance. I have chiari without a grade which the chiropractor found! but boy do I have the symptoms. The neurosurgeon said do not let anyone mess with you neck bc it could be very dangerous and you know what we were taught. Bottom line is that my head is not on straight( in all ways) and I would like to hear what you think bc of your personal issue and knowledge. I am so grateful to have found you and get started on the healing journey. Thank you for all you do! I would Love to be a asset to your team.
Hi Lynn, this is quite an involved question and something Dr. Cat may be able to answer. I know she has been talking to some great chiropractors about this kind of thing lately, so I'll check. Best wishes to you and thank you for being here and committing to your healing journey, even when things feel so challenging. Louise - Social Media Manager
I would like to k ow if anyone else has been told they have Oxalate toxicity? I am currently dealing with MCAS symptoms, pots, food sensitivities, possible Lyme and possible mold toxicity. I have started the program but unsure if it can treat Oxalate toxicity?? Has anyone been through the program with this diagnosis and it helped them? I really don’t want to believe the oxalate diagnosis… I am on the low ox diet and it is ruining my life.. my MCAS symptoms are much worse because of it..
Many people diagnosed with spine issues have NO pain. Often neuroplasticity contributes to who develops pain from standard spine issues. People have been told they have spinal problems that need healing - but discovered mind/body work and recovered from chronic pain completely - whether or NOT the spine shows changes. What doctors call "harmful" is often a normal part of aging. Dr. Shubiner speaks a lot about this, as does Alan Gordon, both of whom have great books on healing from chronic pain and illness.
*What if you’re already in an emotionally safe, peaceful, trusting place?* I’m dealing with chronic fatigue issues, but I’m already emotionally at peace, so I wonder if nervous system training has anything to offer me. Is it all about emotions?
For me, even though I attained emotional peace in myself and my environment, my nervous system had not. There were also some inner wounds from my childhood that were not resolved that kept activating my nervous system. And my limbic system kept misinterpreting signals and thus causing the symptoms to continue. My chronic fatigue did not resolve until I had regulated my nervous system and also did the deeper inner work. In my opinion, if a person still has symptoms such as CFS then the nervous system is not fully regulated and/or they may be some inner deeper work that needs to be done. Many of these inner wounds and patterns run on a subconscious level so they are not easy to find. The level 1 and 2 of Primal Trust addresses both these issues and it was a game changer for me.
@@thedatepro Thank you SO much for commenting!! That makes a lot of sense. I don’t know of any past trauma, but maybe it’s there and I repressed it. I will keep this in mind. Thank you again, and I’m so happy for you that you found healing!! 🙏🏻
I would also like to add that sometimes our adult self (core self or higher self, people call this different things) can be in a very calm place but there may be a part or parts of us that are not. Sometimes these subconscious patterns are embedded so deeply they are difficult to catch. If the brain and nervous system are still producing CFS symptoms then it's creating that protective mechanism for a reason. Certainly Primal Trust's level 2 mentorship can help identify some of these deeper patterns. Also working with a coach that has experience in helping identify these patterns can be supportive. Working with an IFS therapist or IFS informed coach might be supportive in helping identify the part or parts of us that may be contributing to the chronic fatigue.
Did you have a traumatic birth? That can cause a hypervigilant and overprotective brain even in a person with a happy childhood. But we can also have repressed emotions we're not aware of to issues we think we're long over - that caused the brain to overreact even though you feel calm and at peace.
