Hi Janice, please do you have any tips for a dog that slams into you on the fronts? I taught the fronts like this and now my dog always bumps me(enough for me to wiggle or even step back sometimes). Thanks
I would use a sit platform for awhile. Teach your dog first how to sit squarely on it, and then do short fronts so he learns how to gather himself onto it when moving, and then gradually put into the full recall. You can stand back a bit from the platform so he can't touch you.
Love this, thank you. You were talking about a rock back sit, do you a video that shows how to work on correcting that? I have a 17 month old Golden, who does not do it all the time, but will about half of the time during a heel pattern.
Great video! I’m currently teaching front to my 5 month old Labrador. Do I use a lower focal point and then re-train with a higher focal point once he is fully grown or should I stop and wait to teach this position until he has reach his full size? Thanks
Search my channel as I have other video's on teaching fronts, those videos are what you want to start with and then you can start adding in this at the same time using a lower focal point.
I noticed that after you maneuver Sparks around until his body is straight on your body you are then squeezing/hugging him with your legs. Are you using that to "mark" his nice body position? Or is that just for fun?
Wonderful way to explain and work the front sit - Thank you so much Janice and Spark.!.
Thank you so much for this video. It has helped my dog and I, tremendously!!!

@@JaniceGunn Thanks a million Janice. That sounds like a great idea. The platform can be faded gradually 😊

Don't have one but good idea for next time!
Excellent, will keep my eye out. Thanks.
