    Hanne, I'd love you to do a video with advice on creating a blog post series. For instance, a series with 5 related posts that you'd want visitor to read in order.

    Thank you! Last week I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to add a subtitle to my posts, and today I stumble across this. Worked a treat. I second the other commenter's request - please can we have this native to Thrive?

      Hi MJ, we're concentrating our dev resources on things that you can't easily do with other (free) tools. Like you said, ACF works like a treat :) - Hanne

    Thank you so much Hanne. I've followed each step as you showed and got exactly what I wanted when creating long form blog posts. This will be perfect when I'll publish my next long article -- and it'll look awesome!

    Nice Video, simple yet detailed. Shows how to build-out (with the dynamic portion), and then go-forward options (replacing the existing default template).

    Will thrive themes make their own advanced custom fields plug-in one day? I love the thrive ecosystem!

      Probably not... ACF is doing an excellent job and it's free. We might however add more dynamic fields if we think it would be helpful for our customers. -Hanne

      @@hannevervaeck9797 I think the smart site global fields are even more valuable than ACF - we just need more elements to incorporate dynamic fields (like image elements). The smart site global fields only have to be changed once, and every page/post everywhere will show the change without them having to be touched/edited.
      For example: on one of our sites there was an image we had on every page embedded in different places on dozens of pages (in the content). If the source link to the image was dynamic (a URL set in Global Fields) we could have made 1 change instead of editing 33 pages!
      Using ACF or even Thrive symbols would have simplified the editing, but each page the symbol or ACF would have to be edited.
      Now, with A Global Field text field, I could store something like a catch phrase, put in one 100 pages, and change them ALL at once with ONE edit, because the text element DOES allow for dynamic text. So YES, dynamic fields are AWESOME. We just need more elements that use them. :)

      @@freesoftwarewiz Thanks for giving such a detailed explanation of what you're looking for Joe :)
      For your information, using a symbol would have solved your issue because that's exactly what symbols are for... You change them in one location (in the Thrive Dashboard under Global Elements) and then changing the image there would have changed the image everywhere on the page without having to go back in.
      Also seems to me like this image should have been part of the page template... in which case you could have repaced the image in that template (ones) rather than on every single page :) - Hanne

    Thax for this great idea Hanne. Will the sidebar with the table of contents appear on an ipad or mobile too?

    • @Thrivethemes
      @Thrivethemes  3 роки тому +1

      It would, but under the content. So I'd suggest clicking on the table of content and hiding it on tablet and mobile :) -Hanne

    Sweet work.
    Q: Does the ACF data show up in a POST LIST too? A post list such as used in a category page can show the fist X number of words. Would that Call to Action text put in the top section also be visible in the Post List on the category page or not?????

    • @Thrivethemes
      @Thrivethemes  3 роки тому +1

      Not automatically, but you can easily add it in the exact same way as you added it to the blog list template.
      Go into the list element, go into "edit design" mode, add a text element, select the dynamic text option, select your custom field.
      Now this text will show in the list element (and you can delete the excerpt text if you want to :) ) - Hanne

      @@Thrivethemes Thank you for this insight. I've not used ACF in the past. I'll jump into this as I've got two fields that I need to get into a Post List to satisfy the boss.

    Dear Team, is there a way to filter TOC list based on related content pieces? I have a list of 35 book recension in 3 categories - all on one page. In order to select already at the beginning User should be able to choose in the TOC e.g. books written about "all", "marketing", "sales", "social". thx a lot for your info acc. how to realize this in the easiest way & best regards, Tilman

    thank you so much very helpful. I can't figure out how to embed a pin from Pinterest into my blog post could you help?

    • @Thrivethemes
      @Thrivethemes  2 роки тому +1

      You'd put the embed code in a "custom HTML element" using Thrive Architect.
      Google Embed code for Pinterest which will give you an explanation of how to get this code then on the blog post where you want to embed the code, drop a Thrive Architect custom HTML element and drop the code in that element. That should do the trick :) -Hanne

    This is great, however, it does not translate well in Tablet & Mobile view. Is there a way to hide sidebar only in tablet/mobile view?

    • @Thrivethemes
      @Thrivethemes  3 роки тому

      Automatically the sidebar will be stacked underneath the content in mobile view. You can hide the table of content on these views.
      Simply go into the tablet view in the editor and use the "responsive options" to hide the TOC element. -Hanne

    Hi Hanne, Is it possible to have the table on the right side for desktop and on the left side for mobile? With the table on the right side for mobile also it appears at the end of the page. That's useless.

    It is very hard to follow the cursor. I suggest that you define it as big as possible and use color cursor or use a circle of color around the cursor
