Hi there... thanks for this awesome project. Will the new software be compatible with the old hardware from your former WiFi-Ducky project? I build one myself back then and would like to keep using the hardware.
Ok, I found out the hard way that the answer is „No!“. The first reason is: new software uses SCL/SDA instead of serial, second reason is esp8266 needs different firmware, third reason is: as hardware is connected in the old WifiDucky build the Arduino IDE will upload the Arduino sketch via the Arduino into the ESP which severely bricks stuff. So you better de-solder everything apart and flash things separately. Now everything works again ;-)

Why do I want this device? What practical task does this device accomplish for me?
This video randomly popped up in my recommendations, so I kinda feel like I walked into a conversation, and missed a lot of things, lol.
You can have a hidden hacking machine with this little device and control it from much further distance. You can write some automated script which you quickly inject to the device just after connect quickly disconnect and leave the area. Dongle will execute the script without your presence.

Useful for pentesting, but I don't use it for that, and I think most people don't.
You might not have a need for it, but it's alot of fun to develop scripts for, and you can do alot of things with it if you so desire

Off course this will make it bigger and more expensive, but it can be worth it.

Ducky Script is stupid simple, I'm not sure it could be any easier to use. Maybe if there was a way you could use a keyboard and have it translate into Ducky Script?

There's nothing to translate, you can easily use existing tools from various community members in order to use Ducky Script not on a Hak5 Ducky USB....

there's a way to exfiltrate data using few alternatives like dropbox, gmail (see hak5 dropbox exfiltration vid) or through serial

Hey really cool projects I tried to make the original one years ago without success, so I ended up buying one prebuilt on AliExpress. The trouble i'm having is that where I live we use Spanish keyboards and the thing is preflashed withe the us layout. Do you have any idea where I can find a file or something?
The new one supports the Spanish keyboard layout by a simple line in the ducky script: LOCALE ES

Any tutorials on DSTIKE Rubber Ducky V2 USB?
ist es dann unbedenklich von der ferne dein eigenen pc zu kontrollieren, z.b. auszuschalten und regulär herunterzufahren, was meine mum nicht kann. und wie weit lässt sich das kontrollieren? habt ihr eine andere idee, wie ich meinen pc/TV über handy ausschalten kann, wenn ich aber nicht zuhause bin. danke (dachte an remote access, aber ist das sicher)
Es kommt darauf an welche tech du hast. Sprich tv Marke und Herstellungs Jahr. Bei den meist neuen Geräten gibt es eine App. Zb smarthing bei Samsung mit dem man wirklich viel anstellen kann. Zb TV ein aus schalten umschalten live video übertragen usw. Und das von egal wo auf der welt. Sogar scripts lassen sich implementieren mit Variablen wie Uhrzeit, dei0n Standort, Aktivitäten oder einfache sprach befehle

Warum sollte auch etwas doppelt so teuer sein, wenn er auch hätte einfach das einfache Board flashen können?
Real cool an devious thing. I'm just wondering why the heck would you have Atmega chip on that board. Seems like a waste of a perfectly good piece of silicone, given that you can just use ps2dev library to emulate ps2 keyboard, use two of esp8266 pins to interface with usb plug via logic level converter and bob's your uncle. Man, look up the schematics of USB to ps2 adapters. that's just wires, you know ;)
