Natural World: Pangolins - The World's Most Wanted Animal
The endearing pangolin is a little-known scaly mammal. Found in Africa and Asia, these shy creatures have an unfortunate tagline - they are the most poached and illegally trafficked animals in the world. Based in Namibia, conservationist Maria Diekmann rescues and rehabilitates her local pangolins. In a bid to better understand the global issues they are facing, we follow Maria to Vietnam, Thailand and China into the very heart of the crisis, where demand for pangolin products is greatest. In what turns out to be an emotional journey, Maria joins forces with a Chinese megastar to build a campaign to bring awareness to the plight of an animal most people have never even heard of.

      Exactly.
Evidently, as proven by the OP, some people don't have a basic grasp of the natural world. These people credulously believe in the supernatural, presuming that our star (the Sun) is a conscious, sapient entity; and that it has special interest on what humans are doing on the third planet.

Poachers are only one side of the problem. As mentioned in the documentary - the Chinese/Asian markets are at fault. If there were no economical incentives to poach for pangolins the African communities would not do it. The ultimate solution is aiding African economies and eliminating the demand in Asia. The scales of pangolins are used in traditional medicine, but the science tells unequivocally there are no health benefits from consuming these scales - its the same as eating your nails or hair. Chemically it is the exact same compound!

there is a simple way to make the life of the Pangolin and in fact ALL other life forms hold a value greater than can be offered by Asian markets. It's actually quite simple and only requires land, solar energy, a connectivity solution, and human effort. But you won't do it yourself. You want someone else to solve the problem for you. That's the catch. YOU have to be the solution. Are you ready for that?

I guess this is the part that sucks truly, it's like a regular criminal, you can't arrest someone who hasn't done anything wrong, unless you can prove their intentions. The other interesting thing is how poachers seem to even effect the traces of selective breeding and evolution in the sense. More African Elephants have begun being born that do not have the gene for tusks turned on, as more are unfortunately being poached that have tusks, yet the ones who do not aren't being hunted and thus pass down the gene more often for no tusks. It sucks to an aspect but it's almost becoming we have to beat them to their own game even, such as coloring or surgically removing parts of rhino horns for instance so they can be assured they won't be targeted in the wild. I'm just hoping that soon we can truly put an end to poaching.

Pangolins are officially protected wild animals in China. I am not sure about other countries, but I guess probably more or less the same...The government has also made tremendous efforts to Crack down black market. Too bad, human race as one has demanded and overdrawn way too much from Mother nature the 🌎 earth that not just pangoline but also other creatures, like python skins and crocodiles coat and other furs are for luxuries, are cornered to danger instead of living vividly in the wild and therefore need to be "protected".
We all somehow somewhere somewhat have a "whole" and a lot in the "back" just do not pretend there're people who don't have one and thus are superior. It is never too late to look "back" and learn from it and then look forward, work together and become a better human race🧐

If they do it in controlled and legal manner, they don't hurt environment, they even can help it. One trophy kill of a lion can help repopulate and help conservatives to finance the efforts. They are shown the kill they are allowed to kill and it is an old or sick animal, which does not help the species in general. The illegal ones are bad of course, but trophy hunters are way fewer than poachers. Poachers kill obsurbanent ammount of animals.
