I don't think you should give up the tournaments. We're all rooting for you win or lose. It's just a game after all played for enjoyment and comraderie. I am high 90's average and slowly getting better yoy. I love meeting people and enjoying the day out on the course and I always try to laugh away the bad shots and cheer on the good ones.
You know the thing I love about your videos is even if you have a few hard holes you don't lose your enjoyment of the game and you go hit the next shot with a great attitude...some videos the guys are suppose to be PGA pros and they'll start the round all happy and sometimes by the 4th hole its terrible content..I like the positive attitude like you and that stays in my head..so thank you!!
You are definitely correct. We have all had one of those holes (or for me days). You are also correct that course knowledge really helps. Loved the video. "Hit'em straight "
Enjoying the tournaments, the matches, playing from the front tees with Jeff and others and everything else you’ve been offering us. I find it more interesting to watch and root for you than the pros - we (at least me) can relate to you.
Wow, the Green keeper must’ve had a bad hangover when he chose that pin position on the 11th! Love the way you always seem to keep your cool and carry on, sets a great example. Looking forward to day 2 💪
You didn't HAVE to REPLAY that 4 putt on the 10th. My stomach was doing flip flops.😮 Tough outting. Yep, gotta pre play the course and have a plan. Look forward to a strong come back😊
I know the feeling. Putting is probably the strongest part of my game and somehow on my last round I started off with a 4 putt. Took a few holes before I could feel comfortable on the greens again. Playing a course you're not familiar with is tough as well. Not to mention competing in a tournament. I've never done a golf tournament but I've done lots of bowling tournaments. I did enjoy watching the vid.
I totally enjoy your tournament content! By any chance, have you ever played Hilldale in Hoffman Estates? Their #10 green is diabolical and I proceeded to 4 putt it several weeks ago - totally derailed a decent (for me) round… Cheers!
MSH, I commented on your day 1 video about the back 9, it is brutal if you're not in position. The greens are fast and sloping and a pin position can exacerbate the speed and break. I thought for a minute I was watching myself out there! Keep up the content and put this 9 in the "recycle bin"!
Keep playing them. I enjoy you explaining the course management. Something I need to do better. Are these based off of handicap or just straight up score?
tournaments, no tournaments, doesn't matter to me. I'll watch either way. Good to see what you do on different courses, besides just the home course. Because of the camera angles, etc. it's hard for me to remember at times that you are in a tournament. Your commentary is helpful, of course. Without seeing what others are doing, it's hard to know what this is doing to your "standing" in the tournament. But, like I said, I'm ok either way.
In those conditions, I'll bet every two putt was gaining strokes on the field and that 4-putt probably barely lost any. But hey, I 4-putted consecutive holes today in a tournament if that makes you feel better.
@danielowen5889 From memory, I would have had to hit it 100 yards off the tee. That would have put the water in play on the 2nd shot to have a chance to reach the green in 3.
@mistahshorthitter I would legit feel sad, as ALL of this community would, if one day, for any reason.. just, no more MSH. You are passionate about this community, the game of golf, the equipment used, and techniques and strategies. I know this, as we all do because it's obvious!! An off round of golf is TRULY, first workd problems! Best to you MSH!!
Hey, don't crack. Tony Jacklin never recovered from this ua-cam.com/video/VR8rmeP4TqA/v-deo.html But, that was him. We can't win'em all I reckon, so we just keep going
I share your problem with large quick greens. Most courses I play have smaller slower greens. Chipping and putting suffer as a result. Very disheartening when I know I can do better. Keep at it you'll get the hang of it.
I am good with the tournament play, it helps to see how we all approach playing under pressure. It’s a shame that you can’t get someone to film for you, you can concentrate just on the game. 🏌️♂️👍🇨🇦

That was the toughest greens I’ve seen you play. Also long par 4s! I like the tournament play format. Just add the leader board after the rounds.
